A good melodica

I am impressed with this melodica. I have purchased about 3 before this off Ebay and they were OK but quickly went out of tune. I guess this Yamaha one could too, but I'm impressed with Yamaha's other musical products. It also has a good warm tone as well as a rigid case.

I love this so much. It's beautiful sonically and aesthetically. But if you're looking to spend less, I reckon a $20 off-brand melodica would sound just as nice.

Excellent instrument

Nice instrument. Easy to use. Sounds great. Keep in mind it's really a monophonic (lead) instrument; when playing chords, it requires significantly more air and the lower notes speak before the higher ones do. Overall a great axe.

Great melodica
24 May 2017

Great melodica. I got it to replace my Hohner which has a choking notes problem. Soundwise it's a bit more on the harmonica side while the Hohner is more towards the accordion. Nice touch too. Not perfectly in tune but very playable.

Sounds great. Well made. Easy to use. Excellent instructions. Not fast arriving from the other side of the earth, but well worth the wait.

Love the tone, the colour and the case.
22 September 2021

I bought it to replace my unbranded melodica and immediately felt the difference. The tone is more clear and more focused. It arrived very well packed. The keys have some resistance which I find strange, I hope it's because this is a new instrument. I like the colour, too. The case makes it a bit heavy, but it provides a good protection.

One of the best melodicas made today.
16 October 2018

This is the cheapest of the four or five best 37 key melodicas in production. And this is the lowest price I've found for this model. It's terrific, well made, and well protected w/ case. A bit louder than some other melodicas.

Out of tune. Not recommended.

It's terribly out of tune. Very disappointing considering the price. I can't use it. It's sitting in the case gathering dust. I'm unhappy about this melodica.

Quality instrument
5 July 2016

I have had good experiences with Yamaha musical instruments. From grand pianos, synthesizers, acoustic guitars, speakers, mixers and more. This pianica did not disappoint me. Excellent build quality, very good intonation, nice case, comfortable feel are just a few of the reasons why I would recommend it. The price was also a motivating factor. No, I have never worked for Yamaha. But I have had over 30 years of positive experiences with their musical instruments and electronic products. I would probably qualify for the label of a Yamahalic, without reservation or apology.

yamaha is always safe option
12 July 2017

Very satisfied with tone accuracy-intonation (this is very important to me), sound (although this is subjective category), keys (mechanics), look and also hard case quality. I have yamaha guitar, guitalele and synthesizer. Yamaha is always safe option. I recommend it.
