The Yamaha Revstar RSE20 electric guitar in Red Copper Finish combines Japanese innovation with traditional craftsmanship. This instrument features a chambered mahogany body construction and is equipped with Yamaha Alnico V humbucker pickups in both the neck and bridge positions, offering a wide range of tonal options from rich, full humbucker sounds to clear, crisp tones through the Dry Switch function. The Dry Switch operates similarly to a coil-split circuit but minimizes additional noise transmission. The chambered body design enhances resonance and acoustic properties while reducing weight, contributing to both sound quality and playing comfort. With a scale length of 24.75 inches (62.9 cm) and a rosewood fingerboard with 22 jumbo frets on a 12-inch (30.5 cm) radius, the guitar provides comfortable playability across all positions. The fixed Tune-O-Matic bridge ensures stable tuning and precise intonation control. With a glossy polyurethane finish on the body and a matte polyurethane coating on the neck, the Revstar RSE20 retains the characteristic design elements that trace back to classic Yamaha electric guitars from 1966. As part of the Revstar Elements series, this model offers authentic Revstar quality with modern features that enhance versatility, playability, and tonal expression for musicians seeking a reliable instrument with diverse sound options. The solid craftsmanship and thoughtful construction make this guitar a durable choice for discerning musicians who value consistent performance and tonal flexibility.

So, I finally pulled the trigger on on this beautiful Revstar, and I couldn't be happier! And Props to American Musical supply for the super fast shipping. Ordered it late in the afternoon on a Wednesday and it arrived Thursday morning! Well packed in a double box. My first surprise was when I opened the Yamaha box was it came with a gig bag! Very excited for that. Unzipped it and grabbed it by the neck. Went to pick it up and noticed right away it had some heft to it! The neck ( to me ) is a little thicker than what I'm used to, but it felt great, and unplugged this guitar sings while strumming chords. Plugged her into my small Orange practice amp and the P-90's are smooth and bright on the clean setting. Turned up the volume and gain and they have great sustain. ... MoreSo, I finally pulled the trigger on on this beautiful Revstar, and I couldn't be happier! I've only had it two weeks now, but playing it after only one day, I can say that you wouldn't be disappointed if you bought this guitar. It looks good/feels good. Has a great neck, the pickups are top-notch and is solidly built!

I own over 20 guitars. I have been playing for over 45 years. I play just for fun and to decompress from life's daily grind. I bought this guitar because I did not have in my collection a guitar with P90 pickups. So I said what the heck. One more guitar to add to my collection. Well I was very and continue to be surprised about this guitar. It has become my favorite. It just feels, sounds and handles like a guitar much, much more expensive guitar. Forget the price it just performs amazingly. There is nothing I can point to to improve this guitar. If you want the best guitar for the dollar and get a beautifully built one on top of that this is the one for you. You will not be disappointed, but I warn you get ready to be blown away. I am not kidding. By the way I did ... MoreI own over 20 guitars. I have been playing for over 45 years. I play just for fun and to decompress from life's daily grind. Overall the product was great and delivery service was exceptional. This was a gift for my husband. Only criticism I have is that it was boxed up in a fender box with someone else’s name on it which filled me with dread when I realised. Thankfully it was the right guitar but maybe think before you rebox something in another box. Especially as it was a gift in this circumstance

I'm a barely intermediate level guitarist having played now for just over 3 years and purchased this guitar just over a month h ago.Out of the box this guitar was a beauty to play and the set up was just right. The build quality is excellent and the chambered body not only keeps the weight down but contributes to the sound coming off the guitar. Though there are only 3 pick up positions compared to the more expensive versions having 5, there is enough there to give plenty to play with, particularly when you add in the dry switch (in reality a low pass filter). In short, a great entry / intermediate level guitar.
Having worked at GC for 6 or so years, it was always known that Yamahas QControl was an industry standard. Monitors, Live Audio, Keystations, even their entry level acoustics like the F335...just impossible to find a guitar at that price point that rivaled that quality consistently. This Revstar is NO different; I've at least 10 guitars and this has not left my hands since it arrived. Perfect intonation, excellent set up, and the specs are out of this world for the money. Plus it's balance is world class (no neck dipping) and unplugged it is astonishingly loud...always the sign of a great guitar off the bat. buy this.
Two months in and loving all the more. The reviews were accurate. I've own very many guitars and this one ranks among the best. Quality, build, style, playability, sound diversity, etc. are all top shelf. The 502T can run with the better more expensive guitars. At this price, it's as amazing. My bandmates complement it's sound and styling every session. I can not detect any P90 hum. The dry switch has convienently kept me from making pedal or amp adjustments during play. It's P90 present a smooth alternative to single or HB's. This one guitar has prompted me to cull a number of other favorites I've collected. There's nothing negative I can say about it. I bought the traditional gloss black finish. Glad I did. Plus, it looks striking in gloss black.
Shockingly good. My new favorite guitar. Almost got the Epiphone Les Paul Modern, but this played better to me. Mahogany chambered body, rosewood fretboard, the works!Well builtUnique minimal designComfortableBeautiful tonesNotes sustainNo fret buzzingStays in tune
Only disappointment the guitar was placed in a oblong box with a few bits of paper trying to protect it as apposed to it's original triangle box & then placed in the oblong box, it did arrive in one piece surprisingly, with one scratch that I've managed to polish out.Apart from all that, it's a beautiful guitar.
I bought it after seeing Chris Buck rave over his several different Revstar models. I was not disappointed. The guitar feels and sounds great, and the "dry switch" has become my favorite guitar feature in a long time. Amp too boomy in the low end? Pop the tone knob up. Problem solved.Great buy. Needed a setup out of the box, but that's a very small complaint.
The guitar is fantastic. Yamaha got the P-90s down to a science. They squeal and scream like no other guitar in the sub 500 price range. The buying experience was less than ideal. The store has downsized its staff, the remaining people are hardly in the best of mood ever. This guitar was in noticeably used condition as it was hanging on the wall for years. The best they came to accommodate this was 50 dollars in price. No worries, this guitar can take my money.
