The Yamaha Revstar Standard RSS02T is going to take your sound full throttle. Artfully composed and inspired by Yamaha's motorcycle division, this sleek instrument features a chambered body to reduce the weight, increase resonance and boost playability. Just like the rapid racers that influenced the Revstar's design, you have a rosewood fretboard to accelerate your riffs to incredible speeds. Soft and blissful to touch, it's going to make the most complex lead lines a breeze to play. Elsewhere the Revstar Standard grants you a classic, growling purr courtesy of twin P90 style pickups. Voiced for forceful, plucky sonics, they'll grant you a palette of warm, clear textures that's perfect for classic rock and blues. Paired with a TOM bridge, you'll enjoy pristine intonation over the scales and a rock-solid tuning stability. If you want style and substance, the Revstar delivers both in abundance.

Well and very professionally made, and sounds excellent. Like having the push/pull tone control. which is known as the Focus Switch.

This is a GREAT guitar. I own Fenders and the quality and feel of this beauty of this Revstar is at a higher level. Stainless steel frets are gorgeous and the finish id perfection. I would question why someone would pay the big premium to purchase from the professional level Japanese model Revstar. I cannot imagine an increase in quality. Superb. No wonder they are had to find to buy. I waited a while to let myself afford this guitar and now feel totally validated by the investment.

I've had custom shop Strats... Teles... SGs... Les Pauls... Jazzmasters... 335s... Gretchs... and PRS Custom 24s.They were all great - but this Yamaha puts them all to shame. The neck will feel like it was made from a mold of your hand. The fit and finish is flawless. The array of sounds from the 5-way switch in combination with the passive boost (it even works with wireless) is incredible. Simply put - it's the best guitar I've even owned at any price.

After decades of playing on Fender style guitars, I got myself a Yamaha Revstar 620 (with humbuckers) during lockdown. I'd never liked the weight and balance of Les Pauls, but I was really impressed by the 620. So much so that I wanted a single coil version to cover that base. This new series of revstar is a step up again on the previous line. Compared to the 620, the fretwork is much nicer, the tuners are better and the nut is much better (no string ping on these new ones). The P90s are much hotter than I was anticipating (hotter than the humbuckers in the 620), but clean up nicely when you roll the volume off. I've not got much use for the new tone shift, and probably would have preferred the dry switch from the 620, but there's plenty of tonal variation from the ... I've not got much use for the new tone shift, and probably would have preferred the dry switch from the 620, but there's plenty of tonal variation from the 5 way selector. It can squeal a bit at high gain and it can be noisy, but that's part of the appeal really.I'd definitely recommend these new Revstars to anyone looking for a guitar in this price bracket. I'm not sure they can be beaten.
After a long (12 month) wait, with back orders pouring out of every guitar shop across Europe, those darlings @PMT managed to secure me this beaut.Never had a P90 guitar before and the reviews made me decide to push the button.Disappointed? Not on your life! The neck plays like a dream, rolled edges & stainless steel frets make this super comfortable to play.Even un-amped, the chamfered body rings like a bell. The so-called ‘focus switch’ is a very interesting addition effectively adding much more than a ‘coil split’, more it gives you numerous tonal options. My only ‘mod’ has been to add a wound third (18W - purely preference) otherwise, straight out of the box I knew this is a keeper!Thank you PMT 🙏
The sound of this guitar lives up fully to the positive reviews I've seen online. And it was delivered promptly. But the action was absurdly high. Asthe neck relief is, basically, OK,that could be remedied, up to a point. But some of the much vaunted stainless steel frets are rough, and one or two seem to be slightly proud. The is also saddle buzz from the high E bridge saddle. I don't think I've seen a worse setup on a new guitar. But the price allows for taking it for a pro setup...rather than just sending it back.
This guitar is one of a kind. The build quality is fantastic. The playability is seamless. They say it's not about the guitar, but about the player. I think this guitar is the exception. The weight is fantastic IMO and the sound… SUPERB. These pickups are so versatile, so much fun to play. Can't say enough great things.
Tuners and the 5-way switch not great, everything else is awesome.
For me it was just an instant connection and my first taste of using P90's, love everything about it. Initially I thought the action was a tad high even for me, but actually it turned out to be spot on.
This guitar looks great and it sounds great. Intonation perfect straight out of te box. Just lowered the action a little bit but thats a personal thing. Can't fault the guitar at all. Great value for money
