Yellow Tail Chardonnay 750ml

Yellow Tail is a brand of wine produced by Casella Wines Pty Ltd. Casella wines is based in Yenda, Australia, which has a population of approximately 1400 people. The Casella family has produced wines since the 1820's in Italy. However, in 1957 the Casella family, headed by Filippo Casella and his wife Maria, immigrated to Australia for a better life. Yellow Tail is a new wine brand and was a chance for the family winery to enter into the bottled wine market -having previously supplied bulk wine to other wineries. Yellow Tail was developed in 2000, originally marketed to export countries and became the number one imported wine to the USA by 2003. In that time the family-owned winery expanded 10 times its original size. The winery has the capacity to have approximately 300 million litres on site with more wine produced and stored elsewhere.Tasting Note: A distinctive nose that leaps from the glass and displays a lovely tropical fruit aroma. The wine has a rich creamy finish while being silky smooth and easy to drink.

Chardonnay is a dry, medium to full-bodied wine with moderate acidity. When you taste Yellow Tail Chardonnay, it has none of these characteristics. It should be rich and buttery, but this wine is neither. It has an unpleasant taste, and a bit too acidic. If you are looking for a cheap wine, this fits the bill.

The yellowtail chardonnay was pretty good. It wasn't as dry as I was expecting. The taste was nice and refreshing. The pice point is fairly inexpensive. I've always been a fan of yellowtail wines. I tried this for one of the cash back campaigns and I'm glad I did. I usually don't drink white wines. Yes I would recommend

Liquid headache!!! This was super-inexpensive wine. I know it was less than $10. I was not a fan. It was dry and had a horrible flavor and scent. I had 1 large serving and started getting a killer headache within 45 minutes. I wouldn't buy, or consume this particular wine again.

A Matter of Taste
20 April 2022

Left off a star because this wine should not be competing with more costly "better" wines. This is a low-priced table wine, and I like it better than the others, even for happy hour -- probably because of the reason that some people prefer the others: this wine (Sorry, I don't speak Wine) has a bit of an edge to it. It's a sharper taste, and I like that. Especially in warm weather. If the star rating pertained only to table wines, I'd give this one five.

A PLEASANT TIPPLE
22 December 2022

For ages I steered clear of Yellow Tail because I was quite 'sniffy' about it. What an idiot! This Chardonnay makes an extremely pleasant tipple served very cold with or without accompanying snacks. Always a fan of Australian wines, I went for the more expensive ones but I can recommend Yellow Tail... and why not try the Shiraz?

Aldi orange top Chardonnay very similar
4 December 2022

The orange top kookaburra Chardonnay from Aldi at £4.25 is the only other wine we know that has a similar taste. This Yellow tail Chardonnay is just a little more tasty and full, but without the reduced price and 25% off for 6 we can never afford it. Back to Aldi after this offer ends.

An excellent Chardonnay…..
28 February 2023

My husband and I have been enjoying this for over 12 months - it’s our goto everyday wine! Usual price of £7.00 is more than generous for this quality. Smooth, not at all acidic like Sauvignon Blanc (which we dislike). Well worth trying.

Lovely wine
20 June 2022

I went all the way to New York on holiday to discover this wine. It was served in a restaurant and since then I have not stopped drinking it. I am not a wine expert but this wine has got a wonderful fruity flavour, not too dry, not too sweet and great with so many dishes. Can recommend on holiday in New York and can also recommend glugging it at the kitchen table back home in a England.

Absolutely no detectable bouquet. Very unpleasant tasting Chardonnay. Reminiscent of a flat beer. Even at this price point, there are much better selections to be had. Try Tiny Umbrellas Chardonnay.
