The next day I was a little sore near my shoulders and pectoral muscles where the discomfort was but I wore the bag again at the convention for two additional days! It was more comfortable than the messenger bag similarly loaded and made organization easy.Since then, I bring the bag to my office similarly loaded and I don't have a problem since I don't wear it for nearly as long as those 3 convention days, and I figure I would rarely do that again. But all that being said, I wish the padding of the straps were double the thickness as that is my only gripe about the bag, and that's only when wearing it for very extended uses. I would not use this as a day bag for hiking trips, but it is quite adequate as my everyday office/work/around town bag.I do have an additional suggestion for the Molle attachments on the lower sides though: the spacing doesn't match the Yeti Bottle Sling attachments so only one Molle can be used and the handle on the bag has to be utilized instead (which is a thicker material which makes attachment a little more difficult), semi-blocking its use. It's probably overkill for me because I use the internal bottle holders/dividers as large lens storage for easy access and I'm guessing that's not how most people would use this pack. But in case you were thinking of adding a sling, know that there is a slight conformity issue.Otherwise, this is my new daily bag and I love it!

Bag is sturdy and seems durable in the time I’ve had it.Daily items:16” MacBook, perfect fitPower Bank and chargersNotebooksWater bottleVarious accessories in all pocketsI will also note that the water bottle sleeves do fit my 36oz Rambler if I want to take it with me. I didn’t notice that in other reviews, but of course smaller water bottles are secure as well and probably better for more packed out bags. Just buy it if you’re on the fence.

Perfect travel and daily bag
7 April 2024

I bought the Yeti Crossroads 35L because I’m going to Italy later this year and wanted a travel bag that met the following main criteria:1. Can accommodate a large amount of stuff but is still carry-on size2. Is sleek and and hard for pickpocketers to get into3. Is tough and water resistant4. Can be used as a daily bag and not just for travel (No way I’m spending this much money just for use when I’m travelling.)5. Comfortable to use for a long time, even with a heavy load.I’m happy to say that this bag hits all the marks. Now while the bag claims to be 35L, you realistically only have access to maybe ~30L of space. This is because everything falls into the main compartment (eg. Water bottle and top pocket), but it’s also what I like about it. More on that later, but suffice to say, you still get plenty of space to pack a few days worth of clothes in case your luggage is delayed or missing. Let me tell you, you can pack a crap ton of stuff in this. I tested it by going to the pharmacy here and buying 24 regular sized bottles of soda. 22 made it in. I’m sure I would’ve been able to fit the other 2 if I had completely unzipped and organized it properly. How was it carrying that much weight in this bag? Surprisingly comfortable. I was worried about how thin the straps were or lack of a waist belt, but that test reassured me my concerns were invalid. I also took that opportunity to test the many carry handles this bag has and they are really sewn on in there. Thing is tough as nails. It’s nice to have handles all around, since you can really carry it however you want and makes it really easy to take it out of wherever it is.About a controversial thing that some people like and others don’t, the side access zipper. Personally, I love it and part of why I got the bag. This bag is designed for on-the-go. What do I mean? Whenever you need to take or stash something in the bag, you just unhitch one strap and the bag dangles on one shoulder. The side access zipper is perfectly located for you to have easy access to the main compartment. All done while you continue to walk without the bag touching the ground or taking it off. Unlike regular bags with the zipper at the top, where you’d have to stop, take off the bag, unzip, do what you need and lift and carry the bag again. This side zipper also makes it harder for pickpockets or thieves to steal stuff. For starters, unzipping the side doesn’t mean your stuff will automatically fall out. The bag is rigid enough to keep its shape. This rigidity and positioning also makes it harder for people to steal stuff; they’ll have no visuals on what they’re stealing and have to really squeeze their hand in and fumble around. You just have to remember the main compartment zipper is on the left, the water bottle zipper is on the right (when you’re carrying the bag).About the water bottle compartment, I love it. It’s tucked inside, which does take up space from the main compartment. It does however, make sure no one can steal your water bottle, that it doesn’t accidentally get knocked out of the bag and really protects the bottle. They recommend their smaller bottles and it does make it easier to put in and take out, but I have a 1L bottle and it fits perfectly. There’s lots of customization options with the webbings on the straps. I’ve added a bottle opener on mine. It’s not made for it, but it works. After reading all that, you’d imagine that I love the bag and find no flaws. Yet, why 4 stars? Well, there’s some stuff I would like to see improved and have reservations about.1. The laptop stabilization straps. Yeti, for some odd reason (I’m guessing cost factors), had decided to go with the cheap and absolutely worthless stretchy corner bands. They’re sufficient for a couple months, until they inevitably lose their structure and become nothing more than outstretched bands pretending to stabilize your laptop. I wish they had gone with a Velcro or clip that you can tighten.2. Purely cosmetic, but I would have like if they used black or color matching lining inside instead of this beige one.3. The horseshoe like clip they have for keys feels flimsy and made of plastic. Does it work? Yes. Would I have preferred a proper metal clip or carabiner? Definitely yes.

I had such high hopes!! The straps are a joke- no padding. Literally paper thin. The straps on my other Yeti coolers have more padding than their backpack!! No access to the main compartment UNLESS you unzip the smaller compartment to access an inner zipper. Meaning there's no way to quickly access the main compartment unless you take off the pack, set it down in a table or the ground, unzip the computer compartment, then unzip a divider panel to get into the bag. This may be fine if you don't need to quickly access a jacket or something else. If you like the functionality of this bag, you bought it because it's a Yeti product. Just wish the shoulder straps and lack of easy access to the main compartment was given more than 30 seconds of design consideration. I literally opened the box, went over the bag with a fine tooth comb, sadly, knew immediately it was inadequate and returned it on the same day. Maybe their design team will actually read these reviews and come out with a second generation pack for travelers and actual use.

The best backpack I have owned
9 November 2024

Hands down the most functional backpack I have ever owned. I have used Oakley bags for years now and decided to make the switch to the Yeti backpack with no regrets. I was worried about the straps being so thin, but I have found I prefer them. They are thin, but surprisingly comfortable and durable. They don’t crumble like the traditional foam straps on other backpacks. Now I have used these straps, I would not go back to regular foam ones. The bag itself has more pockets than advertised. You can tell Yeti has put a lot of thought into the design of this bag. It can function as an EDC or camping. There are no limits. I would definitely purchase this bag over again.

Tough As Nails Everyday Backpack

This bag is everything I wanted in a backpack and more. The super durable 700 Denier nylon outer is dirtproof and basically waterproof, making walking around in the rain not an issue. I love the clamshell opening, super unique and not something you see with many other packs. It makes getting in and out of the pack easy while also deterring anyone looking to pickpocket you - this bag makes it VERY difficult. Seen some complaints about the straps, they definitely could be thicker but they’re comfortable enough. I’ve fit enough clothing for a 3-day trip in this pack along with some accessories and still had some room. The design, quality and overall build of this bag will withstand the elements and hopefully last me years to come. Very well made
15 January 2024

Very well made. Perfect size (The size you see the majority of people wearing/carrying) The very top pocket (with exterior/interior access) is an awkward annoyance. Zippers seem well made/put together, which is great as that’s what usually puts a bag out of service. Others have mentioned that the shoulder strap padding seems thin and hurts….along with the back of the pack. It is a touch slim but I see this as just another sign of our society becoming soft. I actually like the minimal bulk. I would definitely buy this bag again. If it was Berry Compliant-I’d buy 5. I returned a flimsy Osprey bag and made the change to this way better made bag. Could use some exterior only pockets tho.

So much so, I’m looking to buy the crossroads luggage for my commute to work as well. I will also be purchasing the separate bags that fit inside this backpack that make life easier so I can organize everything neatly, instead of digging through everything to find what I need.
