Keeps cooler ice very cold or works well on its’ own. I bought it to use in buffet tray bottoms (that originally were used as warming trays) to instead use to keep cold buffet items cold. Worked very well. Just a tad thicker than I hoped; the top tray didn’t quite fit over the bottom tray with the Yeti and ice, but it kept foods cold all day outside on an 85 degree day. Consider making these slightly thinner and market them for use in standard buffet tray bottoms.

While I haven’t timed it, the freezing time of the ice packs seem actually very quick and they also don’t expand and balloon like a lot of ice packs. They’re incredibly durable which provides piece-of-mind. And ice really freezes around them like YETI claims. Every time I use them in my cooler with ice around them I end up with giant blocks of ice because all of the ice around the packs freezes solid to them and doesn’t really melt. It’s actually been difficult at times to get the ice packs out of my cooler because the ice around them was so frozen.

I highly recommend these ice packs!! I bought the 2lb for our soft side cooler and it has been a lifesaver this summer. My kids did swim team and I was so grateful I added this to my cart! It kept their drinks and food cold and tasty from 5AM - 1PM every weekend. In Austin! It handles 90-100F temps like a pro. Can't ask for more! They are pricey but worth it. And I like that my cooler isn't full of water or condensation. Plus it's easy to clean (if needed) and reuse. Definitely will be adding more to our collection in the future. I'd probably even buy a few 1lb for kids lunch boxes or snacks in the car.

I bought this for my puppy that would always cry because he was hot. We initially bought the smaller one to go in the dog bag but as he got bigger we needed the bigger one. We freeze it over night or alternate to give to him to lay on and it last HOURS! We even leave him in the truck with the windows open and he sleeps peacefully on the ice pack no care in the world where we are. He loves it and we will purchase more when he gets bigger!
I honestly cannot understand why people rate this product so highly, especially at the spendy price? This pack does freeze and hasn’t leaked but that’s about as far as the description accuracy goes! I’ve been trying to use these for several years now, but mostly only because I paid so much for them! I’m trying to justify the purchase I guess. I start out my Yeti cooler experience as the instructions suggest, chilling the inside first with a sacrificial bag of ice, before placing these in the bottom. I keep the cooler out of direct sunlight, yada yada. And I add new ice onto the contents, and these ice packs have never lasted the day! It is an exercise in frustration EVERY SINGLE TIME! If they made the ice a tiny bit narrower, you could also fit a 1 LB block in there too. But no.They make such fantastic products, but their team really dropped the ball on this. I have a bunch of ice packs. I probably have like six of these yeti ones, these are by far the worst ones. The people rating them highly probably don't own any other ice packs. These will be melted, barely even cold for the touch, while most others, including small disposable ones I kept from a Costco order, are still frozen. It's cool that they fit perfectly at the bottom of my coolers, but that's the only positive thing I have to say about them.
After six years of usage, the YETI Ice Pack, 4 pound version is still cold as ice, freezing, frozen, etc. Pros: It fits into a YETI Hopper 20 Cooler with 20+ standard 12 fl.oz. cans. 5-Star / 9/10 Review. I own the wheeled Tundra. I purchased the 4lb Yeti ice pack, used it twice and it turned the bottom of my cooler to an ice block! It’s added an extra 4/7 days of being ice cold. It does depend on how often you open your cooler so keep that in mind. We take ours on the boat almost every weekend (Michigan) it sits in the sun for hours at a time and still an ice block. Our family and friends couldn’t believe it. not to mention it’s only $30.00 and a 20lb bag is $7.00 (average) and I was going through 3 a weekend. This pack cuts my ice usage down by a bag and a half, almost 2. Do the math over time, it makes sense for our lifestyle. I’ll be ordering another one for the other Yeti in my man cave at home.
