I have been using my yeti jug for a few weeks now and Iām impressed. I was going through countless bottles of water and decided to purchase this along with a brita water pitcher. I also purchased a set of silicone ice molds that were square and round from Walmart to use. The big square ice cubes work the best because they last longer. I will fill my yeti with the square cubes almost full because you have to leave room for the lid to fit in. When I add my water I make sure that it is already cold so it doesnāt melt my cubes. If I use my jug inside the ice will last at least three days as long as I keep using already cold water. I also take my yeti jug atv riding on the weekends. We usually ride from 8 in the morning up to 2 or 3 in the morning the next morning and my ice will last at least a day and a half in the extreme heat. When we are gone all weekend I have to use bag ice from the store and it doesnāt last as long as my big cubes from home but it will get me through a long day in the extreme heat. Iāve always used ice in my jug so I donāt know how long it will keep just water cold. I love my jug and take it with me everywhere I go.

This jumbo sized thermos is wonderfully useful for long trips. Curious on how well it worked, I filled it full of boiling water. After 12 hours at an ambient temperature of 75Ė F the water cooled from 210Ė F to 170Ė F. So I think it's safe to assume that in most cases your hot beverage is going to stay that way for a reasonable work day.The magnetic cap retainer is genius, as the traditional cap connector flange or chain will always either break or get in the way of pouring or both. The carry handle provides a great grip and pivots for pouring.I normally like my gear in subdued colors but I liked the cheerful look of canary yellow. However, they do come in black and other colors. Getting them monogrammed is a great option for gifts or corporate operations.

First and foremost, yes, it is astronomically more expensive than the other ācomparableā brands. But it is worth every penny. Letās talk about the lid, it beats every other brand in quality and construction ten-fold. The insulation is beyond other brands. The magnetic cap, is brilliant. The handle feels firm. The rest of it is just amazing craftsmanship. You could spend 1/3 the price on other brands but if you want the ice to last more than a day, and maybe last 3 or 4, go with this because itāll keep your beverages cold longer. The water to come out will feel like a normal bottle, not a tiny spout.Camp? Travel? Get it, itās worth it.

I try to stay pretty hydrated, so I have had so very many water bottles throughout my life, but this is honestly the first water bottle (my son keeps telling me it's not a bottle, it's a jug) that I still get excited about using. Doesn't that sound ridiculous? Getting excited about a water bottle (sorry, jug)?I hemmed and hawed over this thing because of the size. This is NOT going to fit in your cupholder. People WILL make comments on it if you bring it into a meeting. I have made peace with this and now totally own the fact that it looks like I'm carrying some sort of hybrid kettelbell lantern.I chose this bottle because of the giant opening. I hated how I couldn't easily clean other water bottles. One of them even had little bits of mold growing inside. I have made peace with this and now totally own the fact that it looks like I'm carrying some sort of hybrid kettelbell lantern.I chose this bottle because of the giant opening. I hated how I couldn't easily clean other water bottles. One of them even had little bits of mold growing inside. This opening is huge! You can easily see and clean the inside. Some people in the comments stated that they had trouble opening it. It isn't the easiest bottle to open, I'll admit, but I'm able to open it by performing a one-arm hug on it and twisting the handle with the other hand. The magnetic cap! That deserves its own paragraph. I have lost track of how many conversations I've started with "Check out what this water bottle does!" in the past month before unscrewing the cap and flinging it at the lid just to have it snap into place. It's an absolutely brilliant design! The size of the opening that the cap houses is great because it funnels the water into my mouth and not all over my mouth, which happened all of the time with other water bottles. All I can say is that if you're on the fence about getting this, get off the fence. Get it! If something happened to mine, I wouldn't delay one moment before I ordered another one. Best water bottle (jug), ever!
I got this Yeti Rambler 1.8L Jug, thinking itād be perfect for my early morning trip. So, I filled it with hot coffee and put it in my bag with all my clothes the night before. Big mistake! When I woke up, I found a disaster. My bag and all my stuff were soaked in coffee! Turns out, the Yetiās seal isnāt as tight as they say. They claim itās top-notch, but my experience says otherwise. Itās only about 95% tight, which isnāt good enough when youāre trying to avoid a mess. So, yeah, great jug, but not so great when it comes to keeping your stuff dry...
Some summer days at my job teaching outdoor nature programs, it's 90 degrees or more, and on those days I love having lots of cold water with me (even though it makes the kids jealous). Put some ice cubs in this baby and fill it up and I've got my cold water all day, even if I refill! Love the Alpine Yellow color, which matches my Yeti lunchbox and 26 oz Rambler bottle. I haven't had any issues with drinking out of it or the lid leaking. I love the magnetic docking spot for the cap, and I love the design of the lid because it doesn't have any hard-to-clean mechanisms or straws or whatever. Just a hole/spout with a simple screw cap -- which like I said, is magnetic! And even if I lost it, looks like Yeti (currently) sells replacements. I love all of my YETI products, except this one. My rambler, water bottle, can insulator and cooler are FANTASTIC, but the gallon jug is just pure frustration. Itās well built, the magnet for the cap is brilliant and it genuinely keeps things cold. Where this jug fails is the lid. Put the lid on as tight as you can and wait an hour to pour and youāll leak all over the place. Tighten the lid before pouring and youāll stay dry, but good luck getting the lid off at the end of your day. The lid becomes nearly impossible to remove under most circumstances. My wife and I use rubber gloves to get enough grip and itās a two person job with an alarming amount of muscle to get the lid off. I want so badly to like this jug, but after more than six months of use every single week it really just drives me bonkers. Youāre better off buying a bunch of the larger water bottles than this jug. In fact thatās what Iām going to do for Christmas and retire this jug, which really has just been a sad waste of my money.
If I could rate this zero stars I would. The jug is not the problem as Iāve bought this jug in a different color previously with no issues. Customer service and quality control are the issues at stake. Received the dark blue jug that I ordered damaged with scuffs around it and a gouged cap with brown debris on it (cap looks used). It appears they wrapped it and shipped it in that condition as my other items were ok. My previous jug came bubble wrapped as this one was not, only wrapped with a single Yeti Christmas tissue paper.Itās unfortunate that Yeti expects you to do all the leg work when they are at fault (you need to submit a return request, print out label, drop it off to one of the selected places, and donāt get your refund right away) even in the event ...Ā MoreIf I could rate this zero stars I would. Yeti products are great!! I own several from drinking mugs to water jugs and they are hands down the best at keeping my beverages cold for a very long time. My husband uses a water jug for work. He is a logger and takes it with him daily. I fill it up with ice and water and it keeps ice for 3 days in the hot weather. He often leaves it in his equipment overnight and it still has ice in it the next day. I have left my mug, filled with ice and water, in my car in 95 degree heat all day and my water is still ice cold at the end of the day with ice in it. I simply love the Yeti line of products. We have put them to the test and they have performed with flying colors!!. I will continue to buy Yeti. It's great!!
I live in Las Vegas and carry it everywhere I go. The ice will stay for 2 days easy, but I fill it up at least 3 to 4 times a day. The temps in Vegas are well over 110° degrees everyday. I have the chrome Rambler and let's say don't leave it in the direct sun as you won't be able to handle it. I love how the cap sticks to the top of the cap ... But somehow the cap got lost.... š© UGGH. WHICH brings me here am looking for a new one! It is a bit on the heavy side as I walk everywhere I go, so I am carrying it, but it's so worth it when I take a drink of that ICE COLD š„¶ WATER...TWO THUMBS šš UP!I couldn't be happier with this product.I have dropped my Yeti off a cliff so to speak a good 20 feet of ragged rocks and only the smallest dent... Very well made! š
