This little case has the perfect amount of space for anything you do not want inside the cooler!I pack 3 sticks of liquid IV, trail mix, a protien bar and some flossers, and I can still fit my phone and keys in there! I also appreciate that it is waterproof! My things don't get wet, or damp even, on rainy days!I can not forget to mention that there's absolutely no way anything can fall out or get lost with the double seals either! Like all YETI products, they thought of everything, and executed making the product with perfection!

The Gear Case has a nice design with magnetic close and velcro as well to help keep closed. However, I called ahead before ordering because I wanted to use them for a specific purpose of carrying my dog bowls, 1 in each. I knew the 6L Gear Case would work, but the color options for that one SUCK!!! So I didn't want to buy them. This is the perfect size. I had sunscreen, phone, and sunglasses in this. It was easy to get in and out of, no limitations on grabbing stuff and closure was automatic, which was convenient. My feedback would be to have the soft Velcro on the flap side, and not on the main body; this is for scratchy and cleanliness purposes. I took it fishing and it was awesome, besides mud getting in the soft Velcro side. It cleaned off fairly easy, the yeti emblem did hold mud, and harder to clean. Overall, I’d purchase again.
My wife and I bought the large Camino bag from a local store recently; mainly to use for short road trips, or trips to the shore. Yesterday I used it along with the camino for my performance (clothing, personal items and such). It’s quite handy and can hold a ton! I had it attached to the outside of the bag, via those straps, but you could easily throw it in the bag itself. Took a couple times to get used to the velcro strip then magnetic lid setup but I like it. Looking forward to throwing personal items that I don’t want loose in the bag for when we hit the beach. You can also just carry it alone with the small handle in the back.

However, there is a drawback. The pack is made of dense material that is not particularly flexible and is completely opaque. Additionally, the top opening is narrow and doesn't leave much room for your fingers and sunshine to get inside. Combining these two facts, it is difficult to see what is inside the pack, and getting things out can take longer than you might like. There are other similarly sized waterproof fanny packs on the market that are made of more flexible and translucent fabric that allow for better visibility and access into what's inside. The need for a hipbag and not something around my neck for my toddler to try to strangle me with while I try to make sure she doesn’t drown trying to be like the older siblings is real. I also didn’t want to keep dropping $15 for something that lasted a season…. I found the sidekick, which isn’t horribly expensive but also claimed to be Waterproof. I was skeptical. I use the 3L gear case on a stiff 2" wide wading belt as a waterproof container for fly boxes while wading to fly fish in rivers and streams. Works great. I love not having to wrestle with--and maintain--a waterproof zipper. For my purposes, having a few loops to tether a few items to the outside of the case, and another pocket on the inisde, would make it an ideal fishing vest alternative. My only "complaint" is that while opening the case is quite easy, in spite of its waterproof seal, it is a bit "eager" to close up as I try to extract items within it. Perhaps that will be less of an issue as I gain experience with it.
The 3l is a great addition to your waterproof gear kit. Attach this to any item (doesn’t have to be a yeti) with daisy chain hooks. As a waist bag or a shoulder bag, it’s only ok and isn’t that comfortable in that regard, due mostly to what it does best: keep out water and seal up air tight. So, I prefer to have it latched to something else, other than my body. BUT… for a waterproof gear bag, it is great. This thing can hold small electronics like your phone, a mirrorless camera (without lens attached), battery charger, keys, wallet, etc. Any bigger gear and you’ll probably need to get one of their backpacks.
