Man this has became my set on the back deck with family and friends beer box. Love it, everytime someone shows up they bring a 6-12 pack of beer. Generally good on two bags of ice all night. I've only had it about a month, but it's like everything else they make. The drain does leak a little. I have 3 of there so I could Just swop out the stopper. Its setting on the deck so it's no big deal. I'm sure if I called them they would make it right. Good job yeti.

I purchased the YETI TANK 45 for two events. One was for a work training class. In this application the YETI was used indoors in a 70 degree room. The YETI TANK lid was out of stock so the ice was exposed to the room air temperature the whole time.Ice was still in the cooler after 48 hours. Long after the event was over. The second time the tub was used was for an outdoor barbecue on a 92 degree day. By this time the cooler's lid had arrived. The tub was kept out of direct sunlight under a canopy. There was still some ice and freezing cold water 24 hours later. The YETI is expensive compared to plastic tubs that you can purchase in the big box stores. However it's Performance is great! You will save money in the long run by not having to keep constantly ... MoreI purchased the YETI TANK 45 for two events. One was for a work training class. I purchased this product to use for parties in our backyard. It is great to have a container where people can quickly pick out what they want - and have it ice cold. I was skeptical that an open top design could keep ice going a long time, but I was quickly proven wrong. I filled up the tank with ice and beverages early on a Friday evening and let it sit outside in 70 degree weather uncovered. In the morning, I added a 5lb bag of ice just to top it off, but it really did not need it as hardly any of the ice had melted overnight. The temperature went into the high 70s the next day and the amount of ice that melted during the day was minimal. I took it to a picnic the next day and used it to chill and serve two cases of water over the course of four hours, in 80 degree heat, and it worked like a champ. That is pretty remarkable considering the bulk of the ice was two days old. I have subsequently used the tank in 90 degree heat and the ice easily lasted the entire day. I did not purchase the lid, but I think that having a lid for when the tank is not being actively utilized will really enhance the performance. I likely will purchase the lid shortly.

This thing is lovely. We use it filled with ice as a display for my daughter’s limeade stand. It holds small jugs that sell like hotcakes since people can’t get enough of her organic, agave, flower & herb-sweetened limeade. I am so proud of the way it looks, and the ice lasts 2 days, too. On here shopping for a lid today to see if covering it overnight will stretch the ice an extra day.
Was pleasantly surprised how well the ice stayed without being the full lock closure. We cook camping for our breakfast beverages and ice kept for the weekend!
Big fan, however an insulated lid is a huge miss. It is of course of great build quality and it is a fun and unique piece. I use it for soccer games and wheel it around it a cart handing out cold sports drinks and waters. An insulated lid would no doubt help the ice retention. I understand this is not a cooler and won’t perform as a sealed and hinged lid does. It’s great at what it does, but I can’t help in thinking that an insulated lid would make this unmatched. I even purchased the accessory lid.
I bought this product about a month or so ago. I knew the intention was to keep drinks cold, not necessarily keep the ice as ice. We didn't have the lid just yet, but front what I understand that is for convienience, not insulation. If you are trying to figure out which cooler suits yours needs, you should watch the video reviews. They really helped me. I wanted this to keep my drinks for a longer amount of time than just a tin can could. It did the job. Outside, the drinks stayed cold for about 4 days outside and about 5 days inside. I really have no complaints about the product. I use it to keeps drinks cold outside for the kids while they are playing in the pool and not having them come on and out do the house. I use to inside sometimes to have more drink options if our fridge is full. I never had leak problems as I watched the review that said to ensure you twist the plug tight before use. The handles make it easy to move and it's easy to empty and clean out as well.
Sturdy, Aesthetically Pleasing and Effective. I gifted this bucket to clients of mine after a recent closing. They just so happened to have a party that weekend and got to put it to use right away. It was a sweltering 100+ degree Houston day and the bucket (while sitting in the shade) was still in the elements. I was super impressed- the ice - even toward the top- stayed frozen the entire party. It held a lot of drinks and looked great. I may just have to buy one for myself for our next party!
In Yeti fashion, this ice bucket meets and exceeds expectations, performs well on trips, day out activities, and at home at the house. No surprises here, it performs well in any circumstance. The tan lid is a must as an add-on, and a clear lid would be an excellent improvement so you can see what's in the bucket at a glance. Thanks Yeti, another outstanding piece of the action!
As long as you understand the purpose of this, it is great! It is not a cooler. It is a beverage tub that works better than any other you can find. All the others sweat like crazy, so you have to leave them outside. It is built just as sturdy as the Tundra series but gives you the functionality of a tub (use from all sides, easy access, no lid to crush kids' fingers, etc.) The optional lid is handy though to allow stacking, sitting, cutting board, etc.BTW, throw a beach towel or something else across this thing overnight and it will keep ice as well as any normal cooler. Ice will last all weekend just not all week like a Tundra. I have people over a lot more than I go camping, so this is perfect for us (still have a Tundra for that).
