After having a bad experience with a yeti competitor I bit the bullet and invested in the haul. It has been getting steady use at the beach all summer long and recently was put to the test for a Fourth of July lobster bake. I was able to easily fit 40 chick lobsters in this plus ice packs (chick lobsters are approximately 1.25 lb each). Without ice packs I probably could have gotten 45. If you prepare the cooler and get it cold before you need it there should be little to no water sloshing around in there to get any food items wet. The wheels are an absolute game changer and the biggest deciding factor in me buying this cooler because everyone I know that has a yeti complains about how heavy they are and inconvenient to bring to remote areas on foot. If it is packed to the gills it will probably require two people to get it out of the car but after that one person can easily roll it anywhere. yes it rolls on sand but it is not smooth, a full cooler is heavy and it will definitely sink in a little bit and that specific application may require a two-man pull but it is still significantly easier than a two-man carry. The wheels are much higher quality and heavier duty then they seem in the pictures online. They are a heavy-duty rubber and spin very smoothly, not like cheap plastic wheels that are all scratchy and barely spin. When we go to beaches that have sand bars at low tide we just roll the cooler out to the water and sit at the edge, with the cooler submerged a couple of inches. when you're done for the day just to spray it off with fresh water and let it dry and it is good to go. Finally, the cooler is perfectly designed for the addition of a bottle opener as the design incorporates an indentation on either side so if you put a bottle opener there it does not protrude out further than the regular size of the cooler. I have friends who have put them on the front flat side and inside the lid and they don't like it because it gets in the way. Yeti sells one but I found another one that is 316 marine grade stainless steel which is a little higher quality and will absolutely never rust (as long as you use 316 stainless steel screws as well). before adding mine I reached out to yeti and confirmed that this does not void the warranty.Once you get over the sticker shock of this beast and start using it you will know where your money went. The haul does it all.

I own numerous Yeti products, but this is my first hard cooler. I purchased this model in the blue color at the Chicago Yeti store. It was extremely helpful to be able to compare different cooler sizes in person, and the sales crew there was very knowledgeable. It is also the maximum weight (when filled) that I’m comfortable routinely lifting - though it is heavy when it’s full. The handle and wheels are a great addition to this cooler! So, I emptied the water, put some Yeti-Ice in the bottom, kept the remaining 1/3 of my “sacrificial ice” instead of putting in new ice, and packed the cooler with food and beverages for my weekend trip. None of the items I put in the cooler for my trip were pre-chilled. The cooler got good use on the trip - the kids could easily open the cooler during our drive and used it like a car refrigerator during the 3-day weekend trip.When I got home, I emptied the remaining food and beverage cans, but there was still ice remaining. I decided to wait to see how long it would last. It turns out, 1 day shy of 2 weeks! Not only was there ice during this entire time, but the internal temperature of the cooler remained at or below safe refrigerator temperatures. This is far more of a buffer of temperature stability and food safety than I had anticipated and is amazing with respect to ice preservation. While this was not a scientific experiment, it was a practical one for me. Like some, I had read about the legendary Yeti ice retention with these products. But this cooler far exceeded my expectations!

This thing is a workhorse! I was so impressed by its ability to maintain a safe holding temperature for our food during a recent camping trip (with high temps in the 90s and minimal shade.) I kept a small thermometer inside to track the temperature and it never budged outside of the safe temperature zone.I pre-chilled it as the instructions recommend, and when the time came to empty it after we returned home, I was stunned to see how much unmelted ice was still there. The family really surprised me this past Father's Day with the navy blue YETI Tundra Haul Wheeled Cooler. They know I don't buy myself "high dollar" items. Taking care of my family's needs and wants take priority over mine. Typically Christmas, Father's Day and my birthday are the times I usually get higher cost gifts. Over the years I have had lower cost coolers that fall apart after a few years of service. Even the lower end wheeled units fail - usually the collapsible handle stops going down all the way. I wanted something that would keep our food cold for the entire time, in spite of the days getting into the upper 80s. This cooler did not disappoint. Not I pre- chilled it as per the instructions, and still had chunks of ice left in the bags of ice inside the cooler at the end of the trip. It held sufficient food although I was a little surprised just how much room the wheels took up in the interior. It’s easy to open and close and does serve nicely as an extra seat. It’s maneuverable, although it’s a bit odd that the handle doesn’t come up further - you have to tip the cooler more upright than I was expecting to wheel it around. Absolutely fantastic product. Have used it twice and it has blown me away. At first I used it like a regular cooler and it did an amazing job, still some ice after 4 days. Second time I followed all of the tips & tricks recommended by YETI and there was still ice after 5 days.The construction is very solid, the roller wheels are so much better than I expected - smooth, solid, virtually no noise on hard surfaces. Handle is beefy and made out of great materials.The only reason I have given it 4 stars is because I haven't used it long term yet so I'll come back after a year or so and re-rate based on my experience around how the cooler holds up over time and abuse.
We used to spend so much money on ice every time we camped. Produce would freeze and meat wouldn't unfreeze. It's crazy this cooler acts like an at home fridge and freezer without having to add ice. We camped for 4 days and topped the ice off once but it wasn't even necessary. The coupon code gave us money off which was also a huge plus. I had questions about shipping and it came 2 days earlier than we expected. So happy with the entire process. Customer service is easy and so helpful. Really happy with this purchase.
I bought this cooler 3yrs ago. It has been through many family parties, beach trips and road-trips to cabins. It has not disappointed. Only downside is there are no accessories for it. I would love a cushion top for sitting, but I read there is none for the haul because it may throw off the balance of the wheels. Been sitting on it for 3 years and it’s chugging along just fine. I’m in the buck sixty five range so maybe that’s why. I also found a separator/cutting board through a third party vendor, that fits like a glove, as well as a dry food tray. Overall satisfied with this purchase.

We spent hundreds of dollars on the newest release wheeled collar and here we are years later and they still won’t support accessories for a cooler that contains no disclaimer about the accessories. Because this cooler is on wheels and designed to be at an angle when rolling it absolutely needs a divider, everything shifts when it tips. Then because they don’t sell a basket you can’t keep your delicate produce, or eggs, or anything for that matter out of the ice and water. I was a loyal stanch supporter of Yeti till now. Bad on them. It takes absolutely nothing. Granted, the wheels are great for flat surfaces, but if you need to go up stairs or on rough/rocky terrain, the wheels do not provide any convenience. If you have a full cooler, and you aren't a weight lifter, you will need help carrying your cooler. Although the handle is very sturdy, it limits you from navigating the cooler up stairs or over rocky ground. Subsequently, the bottom of the cooler scraps against the stairs or rocks. You'll need a second person to help carry the cooler, if you are going up several flights of stairs or any distance over rough terrain.I wrestled with purchasing the Tundra 65, which weighs 8 lbs less, or the Tundra 45, which weighs 14 lbs less. Both are designed with strong, convenient rope carry handles, which the Tundra Haul doesn't have. Therefore, it is difficult to carry the Hauler, in situations where the wheels are not possible.Wish I could return the Hauler in exchange for a Tundra 45 or Tundra 65. As mentioned, other than the weight, the Tundra Hauler is terrific on flat surfaces. Navigating stairs or rough terrain, the cooler is no more convenient than one of the other other Tundra Products.
