I purchased a set of the York Barbell Rubber Hex Dumbells to fit in workouts at home. Being busy with work and two small kids, the dumbells make it convenient for me to create upper body, lower body and total body workouts at home with the range of weight sizes. Beware

This is a SINGLE dumbbell, despite what the photograph depicts.Why anyone would spend this amount of money on one dumbbell is beyond me. The seller was not helpful at all.Ultimately returned the product and found a better price and product elsewhere.

Cap Cast Iron Dumbell

I considered the Ziva brand before buying Cap. Ziva is a nice product but I didn't want to spend the extra money. I don't need the rubber ends because I have a carpeted floor. Another retailer was selling a brand with rubber ends. The promotion was buy one get one free. The deal was good but the rubber was cheap and had a terrible odour. I brought them home hoping the odour would go away overnight. Nope, odour was still there and had to returned them.

Dumbbell good. Packaging bad.

The dumbbell is fine. Unfortunately it was shipped with loose Styrofoam pieces that made a terrible mess when I opened the package. Couldn't even recycle the eco-friendly box because of the Styrofoam pieces clinging to it and my skin. It was so bad that I sent the box with its eco-nightmare packing back to the shipper. Maybe they will realize what a bad idea using loose Styrofoam pieces for packing purposes is and stop doing it. Maybe even start thinking about environmentally friendly alternatives? It could happen...

Exactly what you would expect

Quickly shipped. Excellent communication. I use a variety of dumbbells and wanted a fixed rubber hex at 60lb. each . Last pair of her rubber dumbbells I purchased was 25 or so years ago for just over $1/lb. for 40lb. each. No longer the case! These were well packed, free shipping. I prefer the contoured handles to straight - they just sit in your palm better. Still have some of that factory fresh rubber smell. Overall, can't go wrong with these.

Great for light free-weight workouts. Good deal.

Sturdy. Bought during Black Friday in a clearance bin, each dumbbell was less then a cheap commercial coffee in Canada. All metal, all metal grips. Decent light free-weight. I gif what I paid for.

Great hex dumbell

It's exactly what it says it is! Good size, grip on the handle and great quality. Have bought many different sizes of this brand now. Can't fault it.

Poor product but very good customer service

These were chipped and looked a little banged up when I bought them but nothing else was available. As soon as a set with rubber covered ends were available, I returned these iron dumbbells and bought the rubber ones. In my experience, CT has always been great for accepting returns and customer satisfaction.

Poor quality

Normally, I’ve liked this style of dumbbell. But, after using them for a couple of weeks, I noticed a fine powder at the joints and realized that the dumbbell isn’t sealed properly. The defect is on both dumbbells I purchased so it seems to be a manufacturing issue. I’m going to exchange for a different style.

These weights are so metal and WOW are they ever

The weights are made of solid metal and believe it or not, they continue to be solid metal when you get them home from the store. You simply can’t ask for more out of a metal weight in my opinion. Just wow.
