This size definitely suitable for 1-2 person and it is very handy. I have a bigger size, and purchased this smaller size in case need to cook food for myself only, and can just eat my maggi soup on it without another bowl. Seller response is fast and received the product in 4 days time. Addition surprise - received a free gift!

very happy with this purchase. the pot is lightweight yet sturdy, and fast-heating too i.e. water boils much faster in this pot than my other stainless steel pots. the care instructions are in japanese but I was able to look up google for english instructions (which has a warning that this pot should only be used for soups & stews, and not for deep frying). been using this pot regularly for the past 2 weeks and I’m honestly very satisfied with it that I may also purchase other Yoshikawa pots from this seller in future.

When I put my two new Japanese Yukhira saucepans on my stove the day they arrived from Food 52, it became Mardi Gras in my kitchen! They are so unique looking and attractive, my humble stove looks like an A-List Actress! She has gone from Average Old Lady to Sharon Stone!Everyone who has been in my kitchen since they arrived mentioned them and asked where I got them. Food 52, of course!Don't walk away from them while you are boiling something in them because they heat up quickly. Soups are now a breeze to prepare and boiling water for my Prince Of Wales tea is a snap of the fingers. So happy I purchased them and highly recommend them to all my fellow Manhattan Foodie Friends. Doesn't take a lot of convincing because once they see them they're sold!My stove ... I bought a full set with the lids.At first I loved the beautiful saucepans. BUT the different sizes don't stack well in drawers as the handles stick up and out.The wooden knob split and broke first time running through dishwasher (top shelf). The screw was welded onto the lid and I couldn't get other knobs to fit the screw so I'm trying to figure out what to do with it. I also liked the idea of having one lid for two pots until I realized I wanted a lid for each pot.Due to impractical storage, lids, and cleaning (not dishwasher safe)... after one use I've demoted them to the pantry with other infrequently used servingware. I'm looking to pawn off the larger sizes and get more 6" for ramen nights with friends.
Bought this 6 inch saucepan which is perfect for making steel cut oatmeal every morning. I had to adjust to how thin the pot was compared to my heavier demeyere cookware but it allows me to avoid any of the issues with non-stick pots and seems like it’ll last my entire life.
I ordered this saucepan for its beauty and functionality. Unfortunately, neither held up.Within a few uses, the beautiful, shiny surface started to tarnish. After a year, the handle started to loosen. We tightened the screw, but learned soon after that the wooden handle had burned where it meets the metal from using the pan on a gas stovetop. A few months later, the burnt handle fell off completely. In retrospect, I wish I had chosen a different saucepan.
i admit to ordering this because I found it esthetically pleasing and simply hoped I would be pleased with the performance. Both the esthetics and performance earned 5 stars.NOTE: It conducts heat SO well and rapidly, consider starting with the lowest heat initially, until you find what works for you. It is very light weight and may not be what you are accustomed to using. Once you find what works, you should have no trouble. On my gas stovetop, items come rapidly to a simmer on LOW, and on my induction cooktop, the second lowest setting (out of 10) is perfect, with an occasional initial boost using the third setting. For me, anything higher and scorching of the pan and the item being cooked, is guaranteed. (Try BarKeeper's Friend or any similar items to remove ... For me, anything higher and scorching of the pan and the item being cooked, is guaranteed. (Try BarKeeper's Friend or any similar items to remove scorching marks.)I use the small one for melting butter and the larger for breaking down fruit or cooking wild mushrooms etc. I have quickly sautéed zucchini, garlic, onions, etc. with a little olive oil/butter. For items that tend to burn easily, such as rice, I would definitely suggest a heavier pot. Given the above caveats, you decide. I am very pleased and reach for it more often than I anticipated.
I've seen other reviews and understand how this pan may not work for some uses. So far, I've enjoyed using it on a daily basis. I would not rely on it for hard core cooking sessions because it requires a bit of care with its simple wooden handle. I have another small one like this and i keep the handles away from heat and out of the water. Lovely Japanese aesthetic though and frankly, the purchase of both plus lids was a special treat for me.
I was really looking forward to this saucepan. Not only did it look beautiful in the photo, but I thought the wooden handle a wonderful feature. Not! I have a Wolf range, which, admittedly, is powerful. I went to boil eggs and turned the flame on medium, and within a minute or two, smelled a burning in the kitchen. The edge of the wooden handle was burnt. Imagine what would have been if I'd had the flame higher? It takes twice as long to boil in this pan because of having to be wary of the handle, which, by the way, is already loose. I wouldn't purchase this again, and am considering even keeping it.
I needed a saucepan for melting different kinds of hard butter for soap making. I also needed one that would work on an induction burner in my soaping area and hopefully one with a pouring spout. I was being picky, I know. I looked in the restaurant supply shops, and cooking shops in the area where I live and they were all too large or were ridiculously overpriced in my estimation. I really like the size of this saucepan and ordered the smallest one and will purchase the largest one probably in a few weeks when I start making my larger batches of goat milk soap. I know looks don't make a pan cook any better but I really like how this pan looks and having a wood handle is like having ganache on a chocolate cake!
