We really enjoyed playing this game as a family with my daughter (aged 9) and my son (aged 13). It is super easy to set up and instructions are very clear to follow. It's a communication game and more rules are added as you go along, making it harder each time.I would definitely recommend this game as a gift or one to have in the games cupboard. We have played it numerous times now with different groups and are not bored of it yet!Overall a fun game for all ages with lots of laughter!

A really fun game which generates lots of laughter each time we played it. It works across the generations - my 10 year old daughter loved playing it with her grandparents and it's an hilarious 'after dinner' game. The rules are very easy to follow and it is a quick game to get started. We even played a version of it just using the cards and a three minute timer. The packaging and design of the game are bright and appealing- everyone who played commented on the 'cool' design! Our only slight gripe is that the timer does seem quite short (it is 45 seconds) and so we often end up setting our own timings when playing. But otherwise would thoroughly recommend.

We are a family of three so can only play when we have friends over. It is a good addition to the games cupboard as the set up is quick and rules easy to follow. It has visual impact and the bell is a fun addition. I think children under ten would struggle to play the game unless they pair with an adult for help in their team. We also have the Herd Mentality game from the same manufacturer and appreciate the quality of the board and pieces.

The rules were easy to understand and length of play was just right. The bell is a fun addition to the game however a referee is definitely needed to keep count of the scores and move the pieces along. We omitted the rule cards and danger zone as we found them an unnecessary addition to the game. Our daughter was worried that her stammer would be a disadvantage however this wasn't the case. Lots of belly laughs during play. This game will be a great addition to our Boxing night family celebrations.
We enjoyed playing this game as a family but we cheated a bit as the game is for 4+ and we are a family of 3 - one person played for both sides! Not ideal but we didn't have anyone round to play it with during the review time. Anyway, to the game, it has simple rules and game play which you learn quickly. While describing 2 words against the clock to your teammate(s) you can't say umm, oh, err etc. but luckily you can pause and just not say anything. Each word pair guessed gains a point, while each Ummm gets the other team a point. To highlight a mistake the other team get to ding a bell, my daughter loved this bit. Some of the rules that get added as the game progresses makes it a bit more challenging. You may need to listen for Umms as well as banned words, which is hard when the person is talking quickly but it adds to the fun and means the other team sometimes gets away with the odd umm. Some of the 2 word combinations are rather amusing and rules like 'talk in a high pitched voice during your go' make for a bit of silliness. It has a good balance of silly as well as being good for kids to expand their vocabulary trying to explain the words. Ideal game for our 10 year old book worm, I imagine if you took the timer out it would be good for younger children but ideally I think kids would need to be 8+ to enjoy this. We liked it as the time limit made it exciting and led to more ummms and the whole game takes about 20 minutes so ideal after dinner. The game comes in a compact sturdy box and the items are all well made. The bell is getting lots of use outside of the game so I'm not sure how long it will be before we hide it!All in all a nice quick fun little game.
High-quality production board game and cards. It's great fun to play. It took a little time to learn the rules, but once we walked through the game a few rounds it became quite intuitive and was quickly picked up by our 9-year-old. It is best with 4 or more players, but we adapted and played with 3 players, with one person alternating between teams. The game can be completed fast, in 15 minutes or so, so a few rounds are needed if you want to make it last an hour. We loved it. My daughter asks us to play it a lot.
First time we tried the game we thought we'll give it a try with some friends on a quiet Sunday afternoon and ended up playing 5 full rounds. The game requires at least 4 players split into 2 teams and it's quite fast paced. It doesn't mention a minimum age, so kids able to read can play as well while the smaller ones will have a lot of fun watching from the side.Although the concept sounds simple, what makes You can't say "Umm" different from other similarly named board games is that it gets harder and more fun the more you progress and gradually add rules (one rule every 5 turns). The components are good quality and you can tell that there's been a lot of thought put into the design, so the price is fair.So overall, a great fun game for the whole family on all occasions - shame it doesn't work with just 2 players!
This is a really well set up game. It comes with a board, a bell and 3 sets of cards. The aim is to describe a combination of 2 words (one from pile A and B) without saying 'brain fart' words. If you do the opposing team rings the bell and gain a point. If the playing team is able to guess the words then they got a point. The description becomes increasingly difficult as other restrictions are brought in E.g. not using words with the letter A to describe the words on the A and B cards. I was really looking forward to this game but unfortunately it became a bit dry as we were able to manage the descriptions without any hesitating words. Might be more fun for younger children (my children and 10 and 12).
As a family of 4 we have to wait until we have at least another person over to play this game. It's designed to be played in teams and you really can't play it properly unless you have the minimum of - as stated on the box. We do giggle a lot it's a fast game which makes it fun!! When the 'rules' cards start to come into play we found 5/6 of them were the same rule just with a different letter involved which made the game nearly impossible at that point, especially when playing with a 10yr old!
The Bright Pink box was a great start. The packaging is a good indication of what's inside. A really fun interactive game that is easy to understand and play and suitable for a range of different ages. The combination of word cards to describe, make for some very funny explanations-but no 'ummms' allowed or the bell will be ringing! The bell is not loud though, which is a bonus :). The extra rules that are added as you play, created a lot of laughter! No arguments and the kids were keen to play again as soon as the first game was over. They liked the ease of the game, as it could be played straight out of the box and was simple to understand. Very portable sized box, so would be great for holidays and travelling.
