Absolutely brilliant! Much better than having to rewind yo-yos. Kids haven't stopped playing with them. Kept them off the tablets and games consoles too. They've actually had conversations about the "tricks" they are doing and all I've had is mum watch me mum watch this! Great toy and so cheap too.

I was sent this toy in return for my honest opinion/review.When the Big Time Toys Yo-Yo ball arrived in the mail, I gave it to my 9 year old son to try out. Upon opening the package he was very excited to try out the toy. He loved the colors and loved the fact that it was a Yo-Yo. He was able to learn a trick with forcing the Yo-Yo downwards and letting it come up into the air after letting it go to catch it.One thing that we all noticed; my 9 yr old son, and 12 year old daughter, is that this Yo-Yo was a little difficult to get to operate like other brands of Yo-Yo's that stay towards the ground for a minute after the force of launching it downwards before bringing it back up again. It goes down just a little ways (About 4-6 inches) before retracting back up on its own again, and that was something that my son did not like while playing with it. You have to force it pretty hard to get it to go down towards the floor. For the most part he still enjoys playing with it. He just preferred for it to be able to to drop further to the ground, which would make it easier to do tricks with it.Overall, I would recommend this Yo-Yo for younger kids; maybe ages 3 - 4, who are just learning how to play with a Yo-Yo. Older kids age 6-12 may not have much interest in it.

I have two kids that are aged 4 & 5 that have been wanting to learn to YoYo correctly. They had played around with one before, but they could never get it to roll back properly. That led to much frustration & tears from my children. Then we see the Big Time Toys YoYo Ball that seems to fit the bill to our problem. A beginner YoYo ball that allows kids to get used to the motion of throwing the YoYo and then catching. Reducing the stress level of parents that have kids that get very frustrated when they are unable to do something. Both of my kids been having a blast playing with it and not worrying messing up the string within the YoYo. For full extension it does take a little bit of force, but I was more worried about them learning the basics. The kids learn to understand what they are doing and the basic motions, so that they can do the real thing much easier. I have attached a picture of my 4 year playing with the YoYo.

I got this for my 5 year old son. He really wanted to learn how use a yo-yo. Its taught it well to him. The concept of this toy is great much easier for children to learn and grasp the technique how to yo-yo. However, the outer casing the plastic is a little fragile/easily breakable (so be super careful) after falling on the floor it has come apart. I have managed to tape it up and its ok and still able to use it. I think this yo-yo ball is excellent for those who are new to the yo-yo game. I would highly recommend
The Yo Yo Ball is a great introduction to yo yos for younger children and helps them with the basic mechanics if playing with them. You’re a bit limited with tricks but as I say, it’s a fun intro to it.I’d recommend for any kids that can’t quite get the hang of a traditional/trick yo yo yet.Couple of downsides are the ring that creates the slip knit round your finger is a bit large for small hands and the knot sometimes slips off. Also, unlike a regular yo yo, when the string becomes too twisted, it’s a bit awkward to untwist it. I’ve found the best way it’s to pull the string fully out, hold the ball and pinch the string between two fingers letting the string fall down and untangle itself.
Not your tradition yo yo. This yo yo can be played with by anyone who struggles with a tradition yo yo.It's so fun to play with. It's retractable, easy toKeep flicking your wrist to throw out the yo yo,you don't have to reroll it up in order tocontinue to play with, like a traditional yo yo,once you've lost yourmomentum/string. It takes a little getting used to, because if you're familiar with how a traditional yo-yo works, it's like a easy operated, upgrade! You can learn tricks too, which takes practice. My daughter, husband and I, really enjoyed playing with it! Highly recommend it.Make sure you follow the directions on how to properly put it on your finger. This is such a fun toy! Our four-year-old daughter has been playing with it pretty much every day since we got it. It is like a yo-yo in that you hook the string to your finger and jerk your hand downwards to make it go away from you. But it is different in that it is round, like a ball, and you don't have to do anything to make it come back to you--there is a spring of some sort inside that makes it wind back up automatically, so it just zips right back up to your hand. It's really a lot of fun and, for a younger kid or one who never could master a real yo-yo (...like me), it's great fun.I will say it takes a little practice to get it to extend fully on the string; it really needs a fair amount of force for the ball to go away from you. I think maybe as the spring loosens up a bit with use, it gets a little easier, but, then, even with practice, our daughter got a whole lot better at it, too, so it's just a matter of using it.The design on the one we got wasn't what the description said (checkerboard, I think?); it is purple with a green swirly on it, so it looks cool as it rotates. The plastic of the ball is good and hard and seems to be quite solid. Our daughter has yet to crack it, at any rate, and she has dropped it a few times (and perhaps thrown it once or twice). We love it.
I received this Big Time Toys Black & White Checkered Yo-Yo Ball for free in return for an honest review.I was really excited to get this product for my kids, 5 and 7 years old, but I was greatly disappointed. The retraction mechanism on this "yo-yo" is too strong, where is make it actually hard to play with. It doesn't allow for it to extend easily and it absolutely does not allow for you to do any tricks. It is important to read the instructions on the back of the packaging where it tells you how to secure the string to your hand. You don't simply put your finger through the plastic loop. The ball is big and heavy. You don't simply put your finger through the plastic loop. The ball is big and heavy. If the string is not secure to your hand, it will fly off, because of how hard you actually have to throw it due to the strong retracting mechanism, and it will certainly break something or hurt someone. In addition, the ball's not well balanced. When you throw it, it sways and causes a lot of friction on the string. It's not a yo-yo in any sense.
Incredibly easy to break and impossible to put back together so that it functions properly. This toy lasted less than 30 minutes before it cracked in half and unravelled. As an adult I spent more time trying to put it back together to cheer up a disappointed child than the child did playing with it in the first place.Yo-yos sometimes hit the ground when being used. However they are more sturdy in construction than this interpretation of the same concept. Avoid yo balls and stick with a regular yo-yo
Brilliant and loved by all ages in my family. This is the ultimate, innovative Yo Yo ball of our times. It is the best designed ever, the automatic return feature is just amazing which is a fantastic upgrade. Hours of endless fun is guaranteed and it is a fabulous and much welcomed distraction for the kids too, as it gives them a break from their electronic gadgets. Because it cuts out on the manual rewind time you get to enjoy creating and mastering your tricks without any frustration of having to de-tangle or undo knots. Now this yoyo ball let's you effortlessly show off your cool tricks in record time.
