These are brilliant lunchboxes. The different compartments keep food from mixing including softer things such as hummus and cream cheese. The first one I bought a few months ago is still perfect after rigorous testing by my five year-old at school. I’ve just taken one point off as they are definitely expensive!
I’m so obsessed with the color. It’s the perfect pink. We also love how many different compartments it has, and how it says what each section is used for helps teach my little importance of a balanced meal. The yumbox seems faulty. It is very difficult to fit the clear insert into the outer blue part (hinged box). I think it may be that the inner clear part was made slightly too big for the outer case? However the hinge seems very stiff to close too. Therefore the outer part is under strain when I try to close it & springs back open a fair way if I close it over but don’t force it to latch closed. My son therefore often doesn’t close it properly after lunch time & we end up with a mess inside his lunch bag by the end of the school day. I am also worried that it is going to break prematurely if I keep forcing it closed.I have another previous yumbox which isn’t like this & work perfectly. Good quality but, going by the cup measurements for the capacity of the lunchbox can still be conceiving because you are not pouring cups of rice in every compartment. So, i got decieved and for my 2.5 year old who does not eat much, this is more like a quick snack box. Im a bit upset because of the price. Its a beautiful box. But mine came scratched on both sides curiously but it was in two boxes taped… The tray is so solid and great feeling but the edge is so wide and it would be nice if the space was used for widening the food compartments. Product was great for the first two months and then I noticed mold starting under the silcone lip on the lid. Unfortunately this piece can't be removed to clean. You might be able to avoid this by taking a towel and drying under the small part of the silicone flap that lifts after every wash. I wish I had known to do that to make it last a little longer. I also would wash this, towel dry then fill it up again right away. So buying two and letting one air dry in between uses might also be a good idea.
