I just received my insert single flame. This is my first review. So far this is awesome. It lights first time every time! I've had many butane lighters and even the brand new ones never lit first time every time. I hope it holds out to your guarantee.

This insert seems to have it all and works great out of the gate but then you use it for a week. The lighter begins to fail faster and faster until like another poster said it raises your blood pressure. I found if you don't use zippo butane and you fix the governor that is under the rubber o ring it will work fine. Mine has been working great for a month since I did those two things. I would buy this again since it is under 20 but if was more then that I wouldn't.

I've bought expensive torch lighters for nearly ten years. STD, XI, CAL, you know the brands. I don't expect them to last forever and none of them even come close. They aren't cheap to replace. But this Zippo insert is less than a double sawbuck. It has been very reliable. It lights every time with just one try. Plus I really dig the old meets new vibe.

This insert works very well. The double flame is a bit of an overkill for lighting cigarettes but is great for cigars or a pipe. The only thing that makes me wish I had bought a single flame is the double flame uses to much fuel. I would recommend this insert. Suggestion: Decide what you're going to use it for before you choose which you want to buy.
It works fine. However I would like it more if the igniter button wasnt angled so much or if the button surface less smooth. Maybe flatten the button angle at the outside bottom so that its horizontal at the last third.
5-star product no doubt. Ive had trouble filling other butane lighters, but the genuine article is the real deal. Fills fast, good seal so no wasted gas, and the height adjuster is easy to rotate with a stiff fingernail or a pocket knife. Keeps the classic zippo click without the hassle of wick/flint/fluid maintenance. The double jet stands up to high wind, great for smoking on the bike at stop lights or on the road. As one would imagine, this insert fits perfectly in my old zippo shell.
Everyone seems to rave about this type of butane insert but not me.I am tired of throwing away plastic Bics but they last me 3-4 weeks each. The Bic seems to work on low pressure with a lazy flame. But with this insert, one fill, with a proper air bleed, lasts me about a day.The butane refill canister says it has butane equivalent to 41 disposable lighters. This math does not compute.Clearly I need to get s single torch unit, but even then this does not seem anything like what I expected.Seems to me the Zippo butane insert uses WAY TOO MUCH PRESSURE like a blowtorch. I have tried adjusting the flame up and down, but too far and it won't light in cold weather at all. Have to keep it in your pocket or wait a minute in your hands.Pretty disappointing. They ... MoreEveryone seems to rave about this type of butane insert but not me.I am tired of throwing away plastic Bics but they last me 3-4 weeks each. It is like a Dodge Viper that gets 4 mpg. The constant refills are problematic.
Your department is one of the worst department I have ever known. First I will never order or purchase anything from lighter USA ever again. Second my order was wrong I ordered zippo black canister and paid a premium price for it but got white can zippo instead. If I was to tell anybody about lighter USA you are the worst people there is. Never ever again that I will buy anything from lighter USA ever again!!! Please don’t email me or text me ever again and if you do I will have nothing else good to say about lighter USA!!! Please don’t email me or text me over again!!! Again don’t email me or text me over again!!! Again don’t email me or text me over again!!!!!!!!!!!
I like this a lot, because with other torch lighters, it's possible that you accidently depress the button (ie in your pocket) and release gas, if not ignite the lighter. Some of my torch lighter buttons seem to press too easily and release butane. Since the zippo torch is secured underneath the traditional zippo enclosure/lid there's absolutely no way for it to do that. Although I don't know that the zippo torch insert vents heat out the sides well like my Xikar lighters. Will have to see. I have used standard butane from Zippo and other brands bought at convenience stores, and it does clog the torch over time. It stands to reason that a more pure butane (ie sold at cigar store) would perform better. I clean my torch heads with a swab and alcohol. Alternatively you can depress the butane right into the torch heads, and or use a can of compressed air (non flammable type), or all three methods, and that will usually clear any debris/carbon build up. If it looks sooty, clean it. For safety sake, you want to empty the butane that's in the lighter first, and let the torch heads cool before doing any maintenance.
