Even though it's a very reputable knife manufacturer they all have their high, medium and low products. These "stamped" knives are middle of the road quality. There's always a give and take with knives, harder to sharpen is usually a harder steel and will hold an edge longer, easy to sharpen is usually a weaker steel and doesn't hold the edge. I always try to get a forged knife vs a stamped one because of the quality differences. These would make a great gift to a regular cook. A very good cook or someone that takes cooking very seriously or to a whole new level like a Chef would probably not choose these. Zwilling Henckels makes much higher quality and a forged knife as well. These are just their middle of the road ones.

I never thought knives could be so sharp! They are lightweight and fit comfortably in the hand. I mostly use a small knife for slicing all kinds of vegetables and fruits and it does the job perfectly. I also sliced fish with the skin, and the cuts were perfect without a single effort! The only downside, the small knives have a very thin blade and that makes them seem very fragile and require careful handling. I also notice pigmentation on the blade after slicing fruits. There are already minor stains on the rivets, although I wash the knives by hand and dry them immediately.I have been using knives for about a month and overall satisfied, despite few cons.

Shopping for knives can is challenging. Thankfully I had the help of a knowledgeable store clerk who talked me out of a 20 piece knife block, to a much better quality 3 piece German starter set.He told me that the starter set has the three basic knives needed in the kitchen, a parer, a serrated edge as well as a chef knife. These knives are made in Germany, with the best quality steel which will help keep the knives sharp and easy to sharpen and maintain. While the German block sets were priced a little bit out of budget, these were well priced, and with the additional purchase of a honing steel, I was all set. It's been a month since my purchase and I could not be more pleased. Not only do you get three great knives, you get an complete package. Cutting board, sharpener and scissors. This set is worth buying for the value alone, but then you get to use the knives. The prep knife is just that. Great for cutting up meats and vegetables into a dice or any slice. The serrated edge, can overcome the toughest tomato skin and the paring knife gets all the little things done.I really like the Signature line of knives because they are made in Germany, stamped from one of Zwilling's top quality steels. The craftsmanship and precision with which they are made gives me confidence that I will be able to enjoy them for years to come. Lighter than forged knives, this line is very popular. I recommend hand washing so they always look like new; but they are dishwasher safe.
I’ve been cooking for over 45 years and was recently given these knives as a gift from my husband. They are incredibly sharp! I was chopping, dicing, and mincing my veggies with ease. I love the weight and feel of the handles. This is the perfect set for beginning cooks and experienced cooks alike. I’m donating all my old knives and adding to my collection!
Online you show two versions of the 30723-162 as part of this set. One with a straight blade after the finger protector, and one where the blade curves up after the finger protector. I received the one with the curved blade, which limits the amount of the blade that can be used to cut. Also the set is not well balanced. I expected better from Zwilling
My fiancé and I had this on our registry, as we were ready for some new knives after using the same set for years. We’re extremely happy with these. The set contains a nice variety- we use the 8” chef’s knife the most, but the pairing and utility knives are also good workhorses. We cook at least 4x a week and the blades remain in great shape, and we touch them up with a water stone every few weeks.
I received these knives as a gift and have been pleased. The utility and paring knives in this set are quite handy and flexible. I used both when butchering and found the utility knife especially useful for boning tasks. The chef’s knife lacks a bit of the heft that I’d prefer for tasks like chopping onions, but it can obviously do that job. I found it, and both other knives in the set, comfortable to hold. I also found the slimmer blade to be much more adept at slicing meat and prefer it to my old chef’s knife for that task.I’d definitely recommend these knives as a practical way to fill out a kitchen set. The price point makes them a great buy or gift, especially for someone just starting out in their kitchen looking for quality tools without spending a bunch ... MoreI received these knives as a gift and have been pleased. I’m giving 4/5 stars only because the review request came up as soon as I registered my new knives which I did immediately upon receiving them in the mail and before I actually got to use them so I held off to review until after preparing dinner. I have only had one opportunity to use each the pairing knife and chef’s knife. I have not had a chance to use the utility knife yet. This is my first set of quality knives that did not come from Walmart or Target, so I have nothing to compare to.First, the pairing knife. It’s reasonably light, and comfortable to hold. I used it to slice up cucumbers and I even got out my favorite little cheapy pairing knife to compare to what I’m used to and thought was decent. Let me tell ya, this little beauty is the gem I didn’t think ... MoreI’m giving 4/5 stars only because the review request came up as soon as I registered my new knives which I did immediately upon receiving them in the mail and before I actually got to use them so I held off to review until after preparing dinner. Let me tell ya, this little beauty is the gem I didn’t think I needed. It slices way better than anything I’ve had before and is going to for sure be my new go to. Love it.Next, the chef’s knife. It was a little heavier than I was expecting but it’s also more metal, being full tang, than anything I’ve used before. My current chefs knife is a ceramic one and it’s just pooched. Soo dull, I’ve put off buying these new ones for far too long. This chef knife is wonderful. I used it to cut up raw yams to prepare for boiling and while yams are crazy hard to cut most times, this knife made it half the usual job. Very happy with this purchase.
These were ordered through Zwilling online. I was amazed to find that I had them in less than the minimum shipping time. My wife and I have an older set of the "one man" knives. After about 10 years we just couldn't keep them sharp anymore. I was told by a chef friend of mine that the "twins" were the way to go when it comes to Zwilling. These came out of the box super sharp and are significantly lighter than our old set. Never thought my wife would be this excited for a new set of knives.
