I had originally purchased the glove (non-mitten) version of this mitten. Since that they were thick (because they're meant for the coldest of conditions), they were too time consuming to put back on every time I had taken them off. These mittens are much easier to put back on; they simply slide right on. No more trying to mash your fingers back into the finger tips of the glove. These are also, of course, warmer, since they're mittens and have less surface area for the cold to get to your fingers.

What do you want from a glove? For me, it's warmth and flexibility. Flexibility is important because the more you can do with your gloves on, the more you can expect to keep your hands warm. I've only had one pair of gloves that could keep my hands reasonably warm when the gloves were wet and I use those when I'm knuckle dragging. I have not tried submerging the Titans in water yet, but I did build a snow bird with really wet snow and the gloves seemed to be pretty hydrophobic. My hands remained bone dry.The snot wipe is very useful, but as others have mentioned, the wiper is pretty useless. I would have preferred double snot wipes. The cords that keep them attached to your arm offer some extra piece of mind on the chair list and on more that one occasion kept them out of the snow when I "dropped" one. Actually, I only dangled it.I have not tried the heater pocket yet and probably won't because these gloves will keep my hands warm for a half our or so in sub-zero weather (I've tested them to -32 windchill, -10 ambient). Frankly, I don't want to be outside in air that cold for any more than that.

SUPER versatile mittens. Dakine always seems to pack in all the features at a great price and the titan mitts are no different. Mitten -- Check. Inner glove liner with touch sensitive pads -- Check. Goggle wipe -- Check. Nose Wipe -- Check. Cinch-able long cuff -- Check. I literally can't think of a feature other mittens have that this doesn't.My only complaint is that they don't seem to be quite warm enough for the coldest days. I find myself needing to blow into my hands when the temps drop below 15. I'll probably just keep some hand warms that I can toss into ... oh yeah a top pocket in the mitten for smaller items -- Check.

I bought these to replace the same ones I lost last season, assuming they were left in a lodge somewhere. I've been using these for a long time, along with same model in the glove version. Extra warmth with the mittens as expected. The liners are great, and I rarely use them as the mittens and gloves are very warm on their own, but when it's that cold to need the liners my hands have never been unhappy, and I'm the one who never lets the cold keep me from a mountain trip to ride so they've covered me in the depth of winter from Vermont to Colorado. They also hold up structurally well over time, especially relative to their price. I eventually get some wear from intentional hand-drags but it takes a few seasons (weekend warrior style) - to put it in perspective, I've replaced one pair of gloves over the course of 15 years and the second pair is still going strong; my original mittens were at least 5 years in and had virtually no wear when I lost them. Good and affordable product, as I generally find with Dakine.#sweepstakes (trying to win some Evo dollars, no effect on the review)
Great gloves, got them on sale so it was a great price too. Wore them in beginning of the season when temps were about 15DegF and had no problems. The added liner glove is nice too. Wore them when the temp was 0DegF (with wind felt like -10DegF) and my fingers started to go numb and hands were quite cold. Wore these last weekend for spring skiing 45DegF without liner and my hands were comfortable. All in all, great glove, seems well made and should last for years to come. I my only recommendation is the get hand warmers for really cold days and put them in the zipper pocket designed for them. on the 0DegF day, that definitely helped. If you plan to only ski in sub zero temps, though, I would probably recommend a glove with slightly better insulation. (Maybe the ... MoreGreat gloves, got them on sale so it was a great price too. If you plan to only ski in sub zero temps, though, I would probably recommend a glove with slightly better insulation. (Maybe the mitten version might be better for sub zero?) Last though on these gloves would be on their waterproofing. With all my tumbles in powder and skiing while it snowed/rained, these gloves never let water or snow in. My hands were always dry, even if my finger tips got a little cold sometimes. I am very impressed with that and would honestly buy another pair based on the temps that I normally ski in. (doesn't normally get sub-zero)
I purchased these gloves for skiing. I have other Dakine gloves that I really liked and had for several years but they were no longer waterproof so I bought a new pair. The inside liners/gloves were very tight on my hand. I felt like they were restricting the blood flow in my hand/fingers. This was a big issue. Enough of an issue that I decided to use my old liners from my old gloves instead of the new liners. I also had some issues with the outside glove. It was a little snug along the wrist...not as tight at the inside glove but still just a little uncomfortable. I have average size hands so they are not "chubby" or big. Also I wasn't able to do much when I had both gloves (inside and outside) on other than grab my ski poles and hold on to the ski lift. I had to ... MoreI purchased these gloves for skiing. I have average size hands so they are not "chubby" or big. Also I wasn't able to do much when I had both gloves (inside and outside) on other than grab my ski poles and hold on to the ski lift. I had to remove my outer glove if I needed to adjust my face mask or my goggles or use my phone. This was a bit annoying having to pull off my glove each time I needed to do something...especially since I usually had them cinched down around my jacket at the wrist to keep wind and snow out.I skied two days in temps around 30 degrees and one day with temps around 5 degrees. My hands, and specifically my fingers, were very cold on the 5 degree day. However I'm not sure if any gloves could have kept my hands warm in those temps. There is a little stash pocket on the top of the glove to put a hand warmer (or your ID or some money). I didn't use this stash pocket because I didn't have a hand warmer. However I'm not sure how much this would have helped with it being on the top of my hand.I bought a pair of these gloves for myself (size Large) and a pair for my wife (size Medium) and my wife had the same issues I had. My wife had a few additional complaints. She felt like the liner glove was too small and the outside glove was too big. Also she had a hard time getting her pinky fingers into the gloves.Overall I would say I was disappointed with these gloves and would not purchase them again.
Perfect warmth for Mt Hood where it's usually 20-30, just throw on the liners for colder days. Anything above 35 you'll get a little toasty, but I just take them off in the lift line to shed heat. No signs of wear so far, I returned a pair of Oyuki Icho mittens because the palm stated wearing after the first day. My only "complaint" is I would rather have eleastic leashes, I plan to replace the stock ones but everyone is out of stock. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
They are way too big. My hand circumference is just under 7", and despite being a woman, I had hoped that these would fit based off the size chart for the Smalls saying 6.5-7.5". The inserts would make the mittens fit better, but the fingers are much too long! My husband's hand circumference is around 8.25" and these fit him perfectly. Lucky him!
These mittens are spot on my dudes! They fit very well, not too baggy or bulky but not too tight. The glove liners are comfortable and have touch-screen finger tips to make navigating your touch-screen phone a breeze. These gloves even have an outer pocket that is the perfect size for RFID lift tickets to make you look like a magician when going through the lift line turn-styles. I put these mittens to the test in negative temperatures (Fahrenheit) at Jackson Hole this year and my hands stayed comfortable and warm the entire time.
These seem like good quality but even the XXL is TIGHT on my thumbs! I think they'll be cold as a result of the tight fit. That's why I gave them only 2 stars. Haven't worn them for XC skiing yet so can only review based on try on at home.Very disappointing that the cut of the thumbs and the materials used makes them tight!I bought these specifically for a winter trip to Yellowstone NP where temps may drop to -30 F; tight mittens are not going to work well!If you're going to make a XXL then the entire mitten needs to truly be large enough!NOT good design thinking! This is my first experience buying Dakine; NOT favorably impressed.
