I bought these to help with the recovery of shin splints during the rest period and to continue using them after to help prevent further damage. I found that they have helped and I wear before/during and after my HIIT training. They do feel quite thin however this doesn't particularly matter as they still seem to do the job with a solid compression exactly where is needed. I find that if you do get sweaty they can sometimes shift down the calf a couple cm and need readjusting every so often but the main calf is still covered. Overall, I feel they do what they need to and have definitely helped. I dont often do a work out without them now!

I purchased these for injury management and recovery after a 10cm Calf Muscle tear .I have tried many different brands and materials and found these to allow me to walk with a normal gait, pain free, without medication after just 4 weeks.The firmness is perfect and even from ankle to knee.I cannot recommend these enough for Calf pain management and recovery

Really happy with this purchase. I bought them specifically for a trail race in some pretty scrubby and hilly terrain. The compression helped a lot with managing muscle fatigue during the race, but also they protected my legs from getting scratched up in the bushes on the overgrown tracks, but didn't get damaged or torn. They also helped to keep my legs warm in cold wet mountain conditions.I was a bit uncertain about sizing (there was no size chart on the product online), but I ended up getting the Medium which are a good fit on the calves, although a bit difficult to slip on and off over my feet.

My son is 12 going on 13 & has had some impressive growth spurts this last year. Along with his 2XU compression half tights, we have kept the muscle niggles & injuries at bay that were appearing before we got onto the 2XU gear. He loves wearing the calf guards, I love the muscle mapping & we feel confident that he can perform at his peak.
I really like these calf compression sleeves. They are extremely light and thin but yet provide stellar support. Will be excellent during the summer. I have worn them on 3 runs and are pleased. Must be washed on gentle and left out to dry, but they do dry quick due to the material. It is a bit pricey(as is all of the 2XU stuff) but in my view it is worth it. Be careful on sizing - I read reviews on other sights before purchasing and was warned of this. I have about a 14-15" calf circumference and small was the right size. RRS is great on returns, but I would go with a size smaller than what you would normally do.
I had been wearing the standard calf guards when running for several years. I purchased the Light Speed style to "test." I am 100% sold on this newest style. 100% recommend. Well with the additional cost.
I get severe lower calf and shin pain when running. I am only just starting out but even with stretching I had to stop a stretch them out for several minutes after a mile. I bought these to see if they'd help and they do although I am still stopping (I can walk it now) and my recovery takes no time at all.I bought in size Small as my calves are 14" on left (injured leg) and 14.5" on right. I am glad I went down to Small. They fit really well with no feeling of being too tight. I can wear them all day!
Walking 20km, up and down hundreds of staircases, in all kinds of weather, everyday, these compression sleeves have felt great all day long. Any concern with them being black and feeling hot has been alleviated, since the material is so thin, and they have a cooling effect. The muscle containment stamping feels like a step up from regular compression sleeves, as it supports the muscle. I actually seem to feel more energized, and recover quickly to do it all again the next day. Now we know why superheroes wear tights - they’re not just for show, ya know!
Bought these for marathon training after finding my calves hurting after long training runs. Have so far been very impressed and the calves are now less sore. The support is also very good during races. Only had one issue which was my fault for pulling the sleeve laterally. This caused them to slip down mid run and bunch at the bottom of the calf. Went on for a few miles like this and ended up with a minor injury. I now make sure that they are properly placed on the calf and wet the 'felt' collars at both the bottom and top of the sleeve to stop slipping. They haven't slipped since. Overall a good buy.
Great calf sleeves! I measured in at a size L but went in store to try and Large was way too big. Highly recommend sizing down for the perfect fit. I use mine playing soccer under my shin pads, and they have worked a treat! No cramps or pulled calf muscles.
