This was an entertaining quick read as Pippa, a HS senior decides for her senior capstone project she's going to solve a 5- year murder...where a senior at the time Andie went missing (body never found) and a few days later her bf, Sal, is found dead with a text message suicide not left behind but Pip believes Sal is innocent. You'll need to read to see what she finds out! Loved this book, kept me hooked the entire time, I couldn't put it down!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I absolutely adored this book. It is a YA mystery/ thriller. With that being said, this is one of the best YA books I have read. The plot and character development were amazing. There were multiple characters throughout the book, but they were really easy to keep track of. I really enjoyed seeing the emails and interview transcripts throughout the book. It made me feel like I was Pip trying to solve this mystery. And let me tell you, I was totally shocked by whodunnit. I am a HUGE true crime podcast lover, so when I started this book it really reminded me of the podcast serial when they cover Adnan Syed’s case. Addictive and captivating read.

I have never been a reader. I could never focus long enough to get invested in any book. I was on one of those self-betterment kicks when I bought this book, telling myself how I wished that I was a person who reads. Well, this book did it for me. It was glued to my hands until I finished the very last sentence. It left lingering feelings and emotions that were glued to my brain long after as I waited for the release of the second book. The well-written story made me feel as if I was part of something bigger as if I had a place in this journey alongside Pip and Ravi.

I would buy this book again [gift]

Bought as a gift for a friend, for her birthday, as it was on her 'to read' list here on Booktopia. She is thrilled to have added it to her personal library, and I've not heard any negative feedback, so I imagine she's enjoying reading it. I was intrigued by the blurb on the back, but seeing as my bedside table already looks like a vertical library, I'll need to finish multiple books before I buy anymore - haha.

MUST READ!

Let me just say, I started this book on a thursday and finished it 2 days later. Reading each “part” of the book in half a day. “Nail-biting mystery” doesn’t even come close to describing this book. It is in my opinion, a film-like page turner. While reading every line, I could imagine the scenes and watched as the story unfolded. My emotions bursting with excitement and compassion. With the little comedic tidbits added in, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and will be purchasing it’s sequel tomorrow. Thank you Ms. Holly Jackson for bringing this book into the world!! :)

The best YA Murder Mystery

Honestly, you will not be disappointed with this book. It was fast paced filled with lots of action and mind blowing clues which will leave you satisfied with the unravelling of the mystery. Holly Jackson actually leaves logical clues for you to follow along with. The main character is likeable and there is no shortage of suspects, the plot takes all sorts of twists and turns, leaving you guessing who the killer is until the very end. Lovely stuff and the sequels genuinely do this book justice!

Very unexpected book

A good girls guide to murder started off strong and ended with such an unexpected scene that I couldn't wait to pick up the next book. I loved Pippa and Ravi's dynamic friendship and how it played such a heartwarming role in the story. Even when the crime was solved, I had a hard time believing how Holly perfectly fit him as the villain while making him seem innocent and detached from the crime. I am very excited to continue the series and read more of Holly Jackson's books I one hundred percent recommend this series. Please put it in your book list or read it! It is the best murder mystery I have read❤️

good!

this book was good! the second i got it i was so excited to read it! however, i was partially disappointed and DNF'ed around page 200 but later picked it up again. on my second try, i was invested and the reveal had me SOBBING! (UPCOMING SPOILERS WATCH OUT!!!!) i feel like pip changed personality too quick at the end, being a good girl obsessed with her grades and then blandly coming out super publicly that she cheated on her EPQ (i don't actually remember what it was called...) is just out of character and it's a really quick behavioural change....

just my type of book

Being the massive true crime follower i am, the title and cover of this book is what immediately caught my eye within minutes of entering the shop. I finished this book in less than 24 hours and carried it everywhere with me throughout that time. I loved the layout of it, the transcripts of pips interviews to be precise i thought were great. I was gripped throughout the whole book and i regretted not buying the whole trilogy together, so i immediately went out the next morning for the other two. also reading them within the space of just under 3 days.
