Standing in a stream will cause a bit of leakage but in the cold rain my feet stayed warm and dry.However, my feet would bake in the heat. Wearing black, waterproof boots in the desert on a hot day is fairly torturous. Would not recommend these above 80 degrees.They also make a squeaking noise that is horribly loud. It was so annoying I would have thrown them in the trash had I not figured out that Dupot Chain-Saver will shut them up (use it on your chain too).

These boots where made for small riders with narrow little feet. This is not my opinion alone, every one of the guys in my group of friends that race and ride that are bigger guys with wide feet have found these boot EXTREMELY uncomfortable at best, a couple guys found them unwearable. Im sure a great boot for little guys with narrow feet but if you dont fall in that purview dont buy these.Also the latches once they have any mud in them are terrible. They are so bad you may have to step on them to get the latch to actually latch. Not a fan at all.

Nice boots but the ankle protection on these is WAY overstated.I clipped an object in a rutt in 3rd gear 3rd time wearing these that kicked my foot up and out approx 45 degrees. The outer polymer hinge folded completely in on itself, and my fibula snapped directly under it. Not saying the hinge caused the break but absolutely certain in contributed to it. The inner booties do nothing for you except add comfort as the carbon hinges are floppy loose and support nothing.A lot of great comfy features and the boots feel good out of the box. But that polymer hinge imo is the weak point for ankle protection and these are not 100% the most protective boots on the market.I'm switching over to SG12s when I start riding again.

I absolutely love my tech 3 stellas. I have them I. The black white and pink design. They are comfortable to walk in and provide excellent protection. I laid over my quad doing something stupid and the full weight of that beast came down on my ankle, and other than a scratch on my boot, I suffered NO injury! So grateful for their sassy protection! The colors are vibrant and fun, and the latches work perfect. I’ve had these a few years and have gained and lost weight along the way (especially in calves), and even heavy I could strap these securely around them with the Velcro only closing half way. No negatives so far! Highly recommend.
Best Boots Money Can Buy!These boots are not your broken in out of the box and worn out in 50 hours of riding garbage you'll find elsewhere. They're stiff and require some break-in time but once they're broken in they're slippers and you'll never wear anything else! These do happen to break in a little easier than the standard Tech 10's but still require break-in. They also grip the bike super well and the grippy portion doesn't wear out in a couple rides like other boots. If you're getting boots for free who cares but for those of us that have to pay for our crap I'd much rather put my money where it counts!
Probably one of the best upgrades to the gear. Was hesitant at first, trying to choose between these and SG12s. Glad I went with these. The booties were a little tight at first but after a bit of walking in them and a few rides, the boots were broken in nicely. Case a few jumps, and could tell instantly these are very supportive. Would Highly recommend. Good comfort, great protection and the look sick too. Glad I wen t with Supervented. Rode winter arenacross in about 5 degree C weather and feet were definitely warm. Recommend taking the booties out and drying completely. The foam on the heel of the booty holds a lot of moisture, definitely want to make sure everything is dry before you put away. Would definitely buy again.
My favorite boots Ive had. The hold up these boots provide in whoops and g-outs is unparalleled. I have ran other high end boots and find they flex too much for my liking once broken in. That is not an issue with these boots. My only complaint is the soles. I only got 15-20 hours out of the left boot sole before it was chewed up and needing to be replaced. I reached out to Alpinestars to see what a resole would cost, and they said didnt have the soles in stock and they werent sure when they would have more. I ended up shipping my boots to Factory Resole out of California and they put Sidi soles on the boots. I have had great luck with the resole, and it looks like Ill be able to get far more hours out of it than I was the original Alpinestars sole. Would like to see ... MoreMy favorite boots Ive had. Cannot recommend these "drystar" boots. My feet were soaked after a 3 hour ride in some sprinkles. The boots arent even a month old and worn 4 times. My 3 year old forma boots never got my feet wet and were half the price. Rezvilla customer service said to bad call alpinestars. Award winning customer service LOL.Funny part is my buddy has the non- drystars and his feet were completely dry and he was riding behind me...
First set of Tech 10s, usually wear Sidi SRS 3s but these are awesome boots the downers from my experience so far is they are stiff and need break-in which isnt that big of a deal plus they tend to feel bulky at times but the pros of that feature out weigh the cons. Other than that the support is amazing they absorb impacts insanely well, I personally have great feel of the pegs, shifter and brake lever. Feel like I can lock onto the pegs a lot better. Its easier to stand up and get in that aggressive riding position. Awesome support (had reconstructive surgery on one of my ankles) Im sure I could go on and on being this is only my second time riding in these boots. But so far I would defiantly buy another pair. Pricy but way cheaper than a hospital bill!
