I am in my 50s and have not ridden since my 20s. Now that I am supposedly wiser than then I am buying proper boots for the first time. Everything about my purchase was absolutely great. Arrival only took a couple days and the boots (size 11) fit my 11.5 feet perfect. They are very comfortable and can't wait to go riding again.

Really surprised about how bad the fit is for my feet. I wear a size 12, have always used Fox in the past without problem. The Alpinestars use 3 buckles, with the lower buckle located right over the pivot point of the foot, right where the top of the foot meets the ankle. That lower buckle digs into that crease in the foot every time my foot flexes. There is also excess space between the top of my foot and the ceiling of the boot. Makes upshifts feel less precise because of the slop. Since there is no strap over the top of the foot, there is no way to adjust for it. I've tried tightening the lowest buckle to try to adjust for it, but it just makes the pinching problem worse, and tends to cut off circulation (my toes get cold).

I bought these boots after putting my ADV bike down and twisting my ankle wearing some lower "street boots". I'm still getting used to shifting wearing tall boots and understand that they will take some getting used to and breaking in. They are very comfortable and very well constructed. I imagine they will last for a long time based upon Alpinestars reputation and reliability. All in all a good value (I am sure the Tech 7 and Tech 10s are nice, but at 2-3x more I couldn't justify.

Might as well wear logging boots, the ankles bulge and the toebox is tall and very flexible to the point it flexes way to much on the pegs. On my second day riding the ankle strap broke on the bridge. Had to replace with a aluminum style bridge. I trust my old boots more than these. Ended up replacing them with another brand.
Got these boots in early summer of this year . They’re comfy, easy to break in, buckles havnt broke yet. The only issue I have with these boots is the fact that you even look at a puddle and they’re already getting wet. I’ve had running shoes with better water resistance. That being said, awesome boots for fair weather, in the rain…or after the rain, prepare to add a pound of water per boot.
I bought a pair of these boots in 2022 and at the time, I thought they were great. Comfortable, good water protection, and didn't take too long to break in. I wore them in Mongolia, Baja, and offroading and racing here in Alberta, mostly on a KTM 250XC, so legit offroading. My biggest gripe was that, after about 6 months, I constantly had wet feet. I thought it was from my knee braces letting water in the top, but I would get wet feet by walking through grass before even starting to ride!!Fast forward to 2024, a friend and I went on an ADV ride to Vancouver Island. He needed boots and bought a brand new pair, same Tech 3 model. 3 days later, he has wet feet too.The glue holding the toe came apart, the same issue I have on my boots. We're talking 3 day old boots on a Norden 701, so not difficult riding.Ultimately, the quality is completely unacceptable. $350 boots need to last a lot longer, and Alpinestars just needs to be better than this. Shelling out for a more expensive boot to overcome a fairly simplistic design flaw doesn't seem right, so my next boots will be another brand.
I'm an adv rider with a Tenere 700. I started with my trusty pair of TCX Baja Gore-Tex boots, a marvelously comfy boot for riding and walking in that offers nothing in lateral or crush protection above the sole. My boot size is 11.So, as I begin to push the bike harder, I start looking for an MC boot.First up, the O'Neal Elements.Pro:-Solid over toe protection, affordable, true to size.Con:-Above foot, ankle joint pressure in riding position.-Relatively mild lateral protection for a dedicated MC boot.Upon getting into a rider position I noticed increased pressure on the top of the ankle in a side-by-side comparison while wearing the Fox 23 Comp boot. Future inspection led me wanting more in the lateral protection. It is definitely better than an adv boot ... MoreI'm an adv rider with a Tenere 700. Future inspection led me wanting more in the lateral protection. It is definitely better than an adv boot but compared to other MC boots it was disappointing.Next up the Aplinestar Tech 3:Con:-Small toe box.-Odd fitting boot. I explain below. The review video is great from Revzilla, but I now know I most try boots on at a local store instead of playing the ship and return shopping game at this point. I go down from a size 11 to a 10 as per the video but it immediately becomes apparent my calf prevents the boot from closing and the toe box is tight wearing thin cotton soaks. I go up to a size 11 and the toe box is still tight but the boot closes with no addition room for pants or armor. On to the next. The last boot, 2023 Fox Comp boots:Pro:-Solid lateral protection.-Comfortable-Long straps for flexible fitment.Con:-The lateral protect is not on a pivot, however I did not notice any impairment in rider position.I choose these because the adjustability in the clasps for my 18" diameter calf size and the affordability.
Very comfortable and feels well-protected. I normally wear a size 10.5 and I bought a size 11 and they fit me perfectly. The buckles although plastic are really sturdy and don't feel as if they will break easily and if they do I see that they sell replacement buckles. If I were to buy again in this price range definitely the best boot you can buy imo.
Purchased 2 pairs of these boots . One for myself and one for my son. Both pairs have had issues. My boots have a hole in them from slipping off the kick starter and hitting the peg. My boots also have holes in the soles from the stock pegs on my KTM wearing through the bottoms. These boots are not very old either. My sons boots which have less riding time then mine had the middle buckle rip right off when buckling the boot. Alpinestars has terrible customer service we emailed them for guidance and they asked us what size and model they are as if they would warranty the boots and then had a change of heart and decided the irreparable boot would need to be sent in for an inspection and if they decide to fix them it would take 2 weeks time right in the middle of our ... They fit great after wearing them around the house for a few hours. I have really wide feet, EEEE, and I ordered these a half size larger than what I would normally order custom shoes for the width and they fit really nicely. For people with normal width feet I would say these are going to be true to size and will feel good with a nice riding sock.
