I just got back into riding last year after a 20 year hiatus, so I didn't want to spend a lot of money on gear knowing I might not stick with it. Well, a year later I hooked again and plan on sticking with it as long as my body is able (I'm in my 60s and retired now). I originally purchased some IRC Corona boots and have been happy with them except the buckles can be a challenge to latch/unlatch. My grandson has started riding and need some boots, so I took this as a great opportunity to give him my ARCs and upgrade my boots. I settled on the Tech 7s based on recommendation from friends and online reviews. I have to say that the boots are comfortable and well made with high quality materials. Sure they are better, but for the extra $280 I cant see that you're getting a whole lot more. So for me, they are a good product but overpriced when compared to some other options.

An adult boot in small sizes for women and other small people!

Love these boots, which is good because they're one of only a few options in adult boots for small feet. I'm a 5'3" woman, street shoe size 7.5 and I had been wearing the Alpinestars Tech7s youth boots in US size 5, European size 38. The youth boots are shorter and my pants kept melting against the pipe because they did not come up far enough on my calf. The youth boots also left a gap between my knee guard and the top of the boot. So I purchased the same size in the adult Tech 7, and they are perfect. They are 14.5" tall, which is 1" higher than the youth boot. No more knee guard gap, and pants won't melt since only the leather protective patch is now exposed. They require very little/no break in time and are super comfortable. Doesn't have the absolute most protection of any boot available in any size, but for me it was the best fit and feel of the few small size options out there. The toe box has sleeker and more accurate shift feel than the Fox Comp women/s boots I also tried on.-m-2006 HONDA CRF150F--

Couldn't be happier with these, even coming off Gaerne SG-10's. At first I was worried the toe box was too tight, but after walking around a bit, they loosened up just enough. I have marginally wide feet, and these are fine.Fit, comfort, and protection are first rate. Very first ride and had no break in issues, or trouble shifting or braking.Size 9's weighed exactly 3.75 pounds each on my scale, a full pound lighter than the SG-10's (each)! As long as these hold up in the long term, these are my new go-to boot.

Awesome blend of comfort, protection, and feel
5 October 2021

To justify my 5 star, take into account what I was looking for: a combination of comfortable, protective (but not absurdly hard or stiff), toe box wide enough to accommodate a somewhat wide foot. All that said, these things are super nice.OVERALLThey're comfy out of the box, they feel sleek and have great peg feel, the latches are solid and easy to use, the toe box is very good on the levers. Basically if you want great feel, comfort, and maybe a 8.5/10 on protection with others maybe being a 9 or 10/10 but sacrificing feel or comfort, then go for these. Also great for wider toe boxes.SIZING NOTEOne thing to be aware of is that for me they def run large. I am almost ALWAYS a size 12 or even 12.5 in regular shoes and an 11.5 in athletic shoes where I like my toes crammed up on the end with about half-pinky width of space (soccer, tennis mainly). In these I tried a 12 and 11 and even the 11 had a forgiving amount of space with thick socks on. Felt no pinching width wise either. 11s run great but I'm happy I tried on in person. Also my buddy who has even wider feet got an 11 too and he was surprised they fit better than the 12s.NITPICKSNitcks the buyer should probably ignore but RMATV/Astars could take into account to make them 6 stars:-I wish you could go even tighter on the latches sometimes. The way the latches are designed makes them stop at a certain point....maybe not necessary, but there could be a slightly better design?–a little bit harder plastic protection below the ankle bone on the flat part of the inside of the foot (I took a spill and the peg landed on there and punctured through. Seems like a common area for pegs to crush in on during crashes. I will say that the boots did the job for one impact and my ankle/foot took no damage and the weight of the bike landed mostly on that zone.

Best boot on the market for the price.
30 March 2022

Nicest boots on the market for the price. I was torn between these and the Fox Instinct and believe I made the right choice. Super comfortable right out the box with minimal break in time. I wear a size 11.5-12 street shoe and went with the size 11 in these. I had hopes they ran a tad large in which I feel they do. The size 11 fits great, a tad snug of which is great for a mx boot. Been through a couple motos and I've yet to see any wear on the soles. so far so good. Rocky Mtn never disappoints.

Great boot with horrible water 'resistance'
24 July 2020

I really want to love these boots, and I do, except for one major flaw -- They have *zero* water protection. Zilch. Nada.Don't pay attention to any review or claim that they have good water protection -- either these people have no feeling in their feet, or they're just repeating marketing claims.I bought these because I live in the desert and rarely see water. Today went riding through the rare mud puddle and hitting the water, it literally felt like someone was spraying water on my bare foot. The water went *straight through* the boot material -- instant wet feet. I literally stopped to make sure my boot hadn't ripped open or something (they're brand-new almost, maybe 5 rides) -- nope, it just went through the 'shift area' instantly.I didn't submerge them at ... MoreI really want to love these boots, and I do, except for one major flaw -- They have *zero* water protection. Not cool.

Poor Protection
3 February 2021

Not very protective. My brother broke his foot while wearing these by bending his toes backwards. You can fold the entire toebox up to the bottom buckle. I'm not sure why you would ever need that to happen while riding, and it doesn't seem like that should be able to happen. Also, coming out of a corner recently I dabbed my foot on the ground (I know, bad form). As it swung back from the momentum, my heel hit the swingarm and happened to find a soft spot on the boot. Not sure if it's broken, but it's deeply bruised. Again, something that it seems like a boot should protect against. Tech 1's have a much stiffer sole that is not so easily bent, not sure why Tech 5's, 7's, and 10's have such a pliable sole. Will probably be going to Gaerne's as I have noticed much more ... MoreNot very protective. My brother broke his foot while wearing these by bending his toes backwards. Also the desert seems to destroy these boots. 5-6 desert races with them and the rubber in the front toe area is chipping away and falling apart.

Small feet but these work!
6 July 2020

I wear a euro 38 and that is a difficult size to find, not to mention a ladies boot. The lack of option for a ladies boot is beyond frustrating so I reached out to some other lady-riders I know and they recommended the Tech 7. Fortunately they come in my size. Win!They are a stiff and more firm boot than I am used to but that was the entire point behind this purchase and a snapped ankle is what I am trying to avoid. I do find it difficult to feel my pegs/bike under my feet now but understand that it just takes practice and adjustment to get used to the Tech 7.I like the way they look a lot. Again, just another adjustment in my riding but manageable.Overall, I am really pleased with these boots and can't wait to hit some harder riding with the more confidence in my boot's protection.

These boots are made for Riding!
30 August 2022

I bought these a few months ago and had some time in them, I have worn a few other makes of boots and always come back to the Alpinestars Tech 7's. They are supportive, comfortable, and well made, My color preference is white as they look awesome on the rider and are very photogenic! The only shortcoming is the lack of waterproofing, they leak FAST and the first puddle you hit will end up soaking your socks and having water ooze through your toes the rest of the day, Alpinestars does offer a waterproofing version in the Tech 7 called the drystars, so if we feet is to be avoided at all costs, check that line out! Other than the wet feet, I highly recommend them for MX and Enduro Riding !
