Good quality product at a great price

Good as UPS, shitty management

As a UPS it is good, therefore the 3 stars. The battery holds a decent amount of time for the load that it has ( 2 Workstations, a switch, a couple of modems and routers) It's also quite easy to setup and take into operations. It does NOT come with a power cable though, but with 2 cables for connecting devices to it. Very useful indeed. Management is however extremely bad: 1) You get less data over the USB cable (linux) than for a much older model. You don't even get the input line voltage, the current consmption or even load in percent. 2) apparently there is no (easy) way to get that data over a REST / HTTP / SNMP / whatever local interface even though the UPS has a network. There is no documentation on how to access the device via serial and a standard serial cable does not seem to do the trick. 3) The only way to actually do some little management with this UPS is to register on their stupid Smart-UPS cloud website and "control" it like that. And also there, you can only see 3 metrics and cannot do much. For some "advanced" features, you require a subscription. If you choose to have one more hardware controllable by yet another cloud app without any kind of automation or integration, okay. If you waht to integrate this UPS into your smart home and control it/automate it within your own IoT Network, this is definitely not the right product for you.

Pros: Very easy to setup. Up and running out of the box in a couple of minutes. Cons: A little over priced but hopefully time will prove the reliability of this product.
