Apple iPad Air 10.9 (2020 256GB WiFi)

iPad itself is great. The iPad is fast fluid and has great cameras. I think apple could of had a larger battery installed I would be lucky to get a full day of use. I also think the build quality is terrible. The iPad looks amazing however when using the iPad itself straight out of the case you can hear an almost creeking noise. As if the case hasn’t been fully glued properly. However afte doing some research this is a comment fault with these iPads. This can be easily solved by putting th riparian in a durable case which I’ve done and that’s stopped the creeking. I also find the iPads not having a calculator very frustrating however you can always install a third party app. I would recommend trying the iPad out in store before purchasing to see wether it’s suited for your needs.

I haven’t owned an iPad for years. Although I have the phone, watch, tag, etc. I decided to get an iPad because it wasn’t practical to keep using my phone to watch stuff in bed, or read documents. My kids swear by them in terms of functionality and as an addition to their phones.I don’t do any fancy editing stuff. I don’t need a fully capable laptop. The picture is crisp and it’s fast. I didn’t need anything super fancy and expensive. But I did want something I could enjoy and would last for a good few years. This ticks all the boxes. The Touch ID is very good, not like the old finger ID on iPhones which was temperamental at best. I like how it takes information from my iPhone so it already knows passwords for things like the wifi - novel for the old school users! Does seem quite heavy for an ‘air’ not that I have any comparison, but I’ve bought a very protective case as I can see that glass smashing very easily.

Great for daily use

I bought this for my mother as her last tablet had carked it. As it was an Android tablet and she is already an iPhone user, an Apple iPad felt like a natural choice given that it was of the same overall infrastructure.I was extremely pleased and impressed with how responsive the touchscreen is as well as the quality of the display. My mother is not a power user but at the same time, I wanted to get a tablet that wouldn’t be as vulnerable to premature planned obsolescence and which would have guaranteed support from Apple for the long-term. Great tablet functionality

A loyal user of Andriod tablets because they are much cheaper than the industry leader, Apple. Finally bit the bullet and forked out for an expensive iPad Air. From my first few days of use, it seems pretty refined though I am still learning the ropes of the ios environment and navigation system. It operates differently from the Andriod tablets I have used previously. What prompted my switch to Apple was because the supposedly "new, opened" expensive Samsung S7 tablet I bought via eBay was almost dead upon arrival [it was flawed and lasted 3 days before it went dead]. The iPad was just about $100 more expensive than the Samsung's tablet. This was also bought from eBay.

Not the best iPad Air yet

This 3rd generation iPad Air is somewhat faster than the 2nd generation Air with a sizable increase in screen size, while keeping the weight at nearly the same level. Since it checked off, or improved on those important qualities of the Air 2, I was prepared to fully enjoy this new model.Unfortunately, my experience has not confirmed my expectations in one important area of concern,.. functionality of design. What made the Air 2 such a useful tablet was a combination of balance, light weight, and practical design that has unfortunately been somewhat compromised by the increased screen size of the Air 3. While the 3rd gen Air tablet alone weighs only very slightly more than the Air 2, the extra size requires more material, and weight for any protective case/cover you might employ to preserve your investment. That additional weight is also felt more acutely because of the shifted center of gravity, so holding the newer model Air is definitely, if only slightly more tiring than similar sessions with the Air 2. If you tend, as I do, to use your tablet sometimes for hours in a single session, then you may expect more fatigue from the newest model Air than you may have experienced with the Air 2. If you are upgrading from one of the standard iPad models, this should be a less noticeable concern.Another outcome of the new design is more frustrating because of a direct effect it has on function of the tablet. In order to keep the weight in check and provide a larger screen that maintains the same screen aspect ratio without increasing the dimensions of the tablet in both length and width (only the length is greater), Apple adjusted the screen borders along the length of the tablet by reducing the thickness of each by 50% from about 3/8 of an inch on the Air 2 to about 1/4 inch on the new model. Depending on the orientation of the tablet, and the grip employed to hold it, having such a thin border frequently results in unintended screen contact by the holding hand, and depending on the app, this can result in all kinds of unexpected and undesirable activity. The Air 2 did not suffer from this issue, but I have constantly been annoyed by such unintended screen activation in this 3rd gen iPad Air. I typically hold the tablet with my left had on whichever corner is at the bottom left side. Thus, this problem manifests most often when the app being used requires holding the tablet in landscape orientation, with the thin border at the bottom edge of the tablet. Your results may vary, depending on the the app you are using and its sensitivity to screen contact in the affected area, but it is a frequent and very annoying issue for me.Were it not for these unfortunate changes, I would otherwise heartily recommend this tablet, and give it a 5-star rating, but under the circumstances, I think Apple should have tried a bit harder to carry forward to the 3rd gen Air the excellence that made the Air 2 such a balanced and useful tablet.

Oh So Pro… not. iPad Pro Killer

I’ve been tossing up between the iPad Air 5th Generation and the iPad Pro 11 inch 4th Gen for a while now.Yes there’s M1 vs M2 but unless you are conducting some serious processing intensive work on your tablet then M1 will suffice for majority of daily tasks. Besides that’s what my M1 Max MBP is for.Yes the screen on the pro has pro motion 120hz refresh vs 60hz on the Air but honestly after using my iPhone 13 Pro now for over a year I don’t even notice much difference vs the iPad Air. Maybe 500 nits is not up to current standards but very passable. Why did I buy this? content consumption / drawing?

Battery life is killer. last all day and much more. (I do wish it had optimise charging like with iPhone) Strikes a really good value that’s normally not offered between pro models and the base models. Having all the features that you would normally need. Not going over the top with cameras, display and speakers, saving paying the premium for that. Durable, light and I have free balled without the screen protector, and still not a scratch. M1 chip is overkill. Basically just a MacBook at this point, finally with a touchscreen. Don’t really know why I bought this. Guess it’s just a cool drawing tablet with a banger display.
