The dynamic island makes it super easy to switch between apps or multitask. I love the Apple’s ecosystem that allows me to multitask on any device. All I have to do is start something like editing a photo on my iPhone, then when I need to just pick up my iPad Pro or MacBook Pro and I am right back to where I left off on my iPhone. I upgrade every year so I came from a 13 Pro Max and you really can justify this upgrade especially if you are coming from an older iPhone. The only gripe I have is that the battery life does not seem to last as long as my 13 Pro Max. I use to get 2-3 days of battery out of the 13PM and the 14PM only seems to make it 2 days. Other than that it has been AMAZING! They are hard to find in stores but have recently been easier to acquire. If you are looking to upgrade this year I would definitely recommend it!

Additionally, the price of the device is quite high, which can be a barrier for some consumers. In conclusion, the iPhone 14 Pro Max has commendable strengths in terms of performance, display, and camera capabilities. However, there are still aspects that could be improved, such as battery life and pricing.

Always on is a nightmare, battery life is a joke, dynamic island is useless, crash detection goes off on roller coasters, the cameras have very very little upside differences, the brightness of the screen only lasts for a couple seconds until it auto dims to conserve energy. I also feel like the overall build quality is lacking, I purchased the phone and the Apple leather case; this being the first time I’ve ever even used a case on my iPhone. My 13 lasted a year being dropped multiple times and didn’t even have a scratch. I dropped my 14 face down on a flat floor with the Apple leather case and it chipped the front corner. If you are coming from the 13. Don’t bother upgrading. If your coming from a 12 or below, consider upgrading to the now discounted 13

An excellent upgrade from my iPhone 12!
5 March 2023

I was extremely impressed with the sound quality, camera options, clear video, faster processor, the Pro Max size and battery life. The sound quality on my iPhone 12 had a fake and dull sound for bass and it began to distort when the volume increased. However, with this iPhone 14 Pro Max, the bass blends in very well and the sound clarity is incredible, even when the volume is turned up. There’s no need for a Bluetooth speaker! The camera for taking pictures is clearer than the iPhone 12. The biggest difference I’ve noticed on this 14 Pro Max is all of the options you can do once a picture is taken.Taking videos on this 14 Pro Max literally allows you to zoom in and it’s still clear, just like a movie. Taking videos on my iPhone 12 were grainy if I ever zoomed in. Additionally, you can make numerous changes with lighting, size, effects, length, and many other options to videos after they’re taken on this 14 Pro Max. This is an awesome improvement! The processor is faster, too, allowing no lag time. The occasional lag time flipping between apps on my old iPhone 12 would be annoying. If you buy size Large or Extra Large gloves for the winter or working in the yard, then your hands will have no problem with the larger size of this iPhone 14 Pro Max. The larger screen is great to provide more text messages to be visible at once, great for playing games or watching videos, and other numerous reasons.Lastly, the battery life typically lasts two days. When I’m at work, I don’t use it too much. So, on average, my screen is typically on for about 5 hours a day. I LOVE only having to charge my phone every other day. Such a significant difference from my previous phone.I am very impressed with this iPhone 14 Pro Max, and am thrilled I upgraded.

An honest review… but a worthy one at that!
1 March 2023

Frankly I’m a little annoyed by surveys in general. To start I want to be clear and give companies some advice… - You need to BE PATIENT before bombarding customers with a “How are you enjoying your product” survey request because I’ll be honest; you’re NOT giving anyone ample time to enjoy or determine whether or not a phone is right for us! At least wait 90 days before requesting we fill out a survey. I’ve literally only had my phone for about 2 weeks now and I’m still working into the transition from Android to IOS. I’ll admit that an iPhone was not EVER going to be a first choice for me - I’d prefer Motorola over either Apple or Samsung (and Samsung is boycotted in my eyes) so you can see where the default choice lands. I’ll admit that an iPhone was not EVER going to be a first choice for me - I’d prefer Motorola over either Apple or Samsung (and Samsung is boycotted in my eyes) so you can see where the default choice lands. I chose iPhone for a professional reason - wanting to build my design career and since I have had my iPad for over a year now (and locking myself out once already) I NEEDED a backup device to ensure I didn’t have to go to Geeksquad or The Apple Store to unlock it. Suffice to say, I feel like a moron for giving the iPhone crap all these years. It’s a solid device and you’ll get your money’s worth in the hardware! As an investor of any product, if the worth is valid… go big for the buck and it stands why I went with the 14 Pro Max. It has what I need and for what I haven’t yet learned about my phone already, I’m sure that this device will surprise me down the road with what else it has to offer! Also, I know I am giving only 4 stars but that’s what brings me back to my first point - I’m reviewing a product I still don’t fully know and despite it being worthy of 4 stars… if I was given more time AND NOT RUSHED INTO GIVING MY OPINION… then I might have given that extra star. But this phone and any other phone would be deserving of not meeting a full perfect grade just because “nothing/no one is perfect”. At least this generation of iPhone meets the criteria for functionality and aesthetics to make me NOT regret investing into Apple for the second time in my life!

Decent But Still Marginal differences from the iPhone 12 Pro Max
1 November 2022

As the title states, there are some dramatic improvements in things like battery life, higher reactivity with the slightly improved processor. The refresh rate is a nice jump from the standard 60 FPS, making scrolling, reading, etc. feel much more fluid. Be warned there are some caveats to the limitations of the software, (for now) but they should be ironed out and minimized as problems after some more updates.Dynamic island is useful, but seems relatively gimmicky, considering the lack of support/minimalistic support for many apps, I also say the “Island” is more obstructive than the older notch… but that may just be something I have to adjust to.In terms of camera quality? The improvements are there, but relatively marginal. It still looks like your 12 megapixel alternates, but at least on the main camera, you can zoom in approximately 2x as much with equivalent detail to the older phones. Color accuracy/contrast seems better, and less lens flaring seems present in the new models… I noticed no difference in the ability for nighttime photography, which is actually one of the improvements I was really hoping for, but alas, doesn’t seem to be in the hardware’s range of ability.Would I recommend over the 13 Series? Absolutely not… the improvements just going from the 12 Series are “fair enough” but not breathtaking or surprising in anyway…If you want a classic iPhone experience? Maybe the 8 to 12% improvement might be worth it for you, but the only real improvement is the battery life and the main camera at 1x or 2X zoom.

Does not disappoint. Although a couple issues to note.

Upgraded from an iPhone 11 Pro Max and I am not disappointed. This phone handles any task with ease and takes wonderful photos that are beyond my skill to take. My calls would continuously drop the first week of owning despite being in a 5G area with sufficient coverage. I spend approximately 2 days with customer service sorting out the issue which ended up seeming like luck and a gauntlet of network resets to get it working properly. Never had this issue with traditional SIM card phones. The phone will get very hot when it charges, to the point where it can be uncomfortable to handle. I am not sensitive to heat having worked in the automotive and fast food industry in the past. The excessive heat this phone generates will occur regardless of the charging method (traditional cable, MagSafe). If you sleep with your phone plugged in and in your bed I would advise against it. It’s no doubt caused by the fast charging capability of the phone but I have owned many fast charge devices which did not get this hot. I’ve been told as long as your phone does not give you a temperature warning that it is fine, however I wish there was a way to disable fast charging.Despite the negative experiences with this phone I fully recommend it as I feel it is worth the money.

I'll be honest- I have been an Android user for over a decade. I always found better features at a better price in the Android space, plus the Samsung phone cameras were better IMO than the Apple ones in the same price point. Oh, this gets 4 stars because when I got the new phone, I could not send pictures over text messages to Android users, nor would any group messaging work if anyone in the group had an Android. I made sure all of my settings were enabled for Messages to ensure that Group Messaging and Use SMS if iMessage was unavailable, but still couldn't get things to work. I finally had to contact Verizon and they made some kind of change to my "network settings" that would allow my new iPhone to communicate properly via text with those schlubs still using Android. The phone has some nice features, like the memoji face tracking, Air Drop, and a few other iOS specific things. Some things are still clunky to me, like attaching images in messages, keyboard settings, widgets on the home screen that don't respect the settings I configure, etc... I'm sure after time I'll get more comfortable with it, but let's be real- that's not why I got the phone. I got the phone because of the pressure to be cool, and being on Android is for dweebs.

Maybe Skip This One

I’ve had every iPhone starting from a lovely iPhone 4 in white. Once Apple started production of their “plus” and “Max” models, I switched to those because who doesn’t love more screen, and if you’re going for a new one, why not get one with all the bells and whistles. After switching from the 11 pro max to the 12 pro max, there was regret. There wasn’t much difference in my opinion. When the 13 Pro Max was announced and shown, i thought “ well, a change in the screen, it must have many differences from the 12 “… yes they come up with a “ faster chip “ with each model, but truth be told, the only difference I see, is the large notch that doesn’t really give you more screen. The gap between the notch and edge is very thin, so the purpose in all actuality is none at all. The performance is the same, I play Diablo immortal and the performance settings for the game will not let me go any higher than the 12 model. Apples M1 chip and M2 chip are supposed to be night and day in their macs, but the chips in the phone, feel like a twin. One thing I have noticed since the 11 pro max which had wonderful battery life, is the 13 pro max, drains much much faster, and I’m I light user. I only game on occasion. When comparing the 12 pro max reception to the 13 Pro Max, there is a noticeable latency due to what I’m guessing is the fact that there is no longer a physical sim, but i could be wrong. My cases from my 12 fit perfectly. I will admit that they did move the camera area over a little, so some of my cases do cover a sliver of the raised camera area, but not nearly enough to affect the flashlight or the multiple cameras performance. Lastly, the one thing that is bothersome between the pro max models and the regular standards, is the options of color. You would think, I always hope, that if you’re paying for the top of the line model, then customization would be equivalent to the cheaper availabilities. With all that being sad. If you’re in an 11 or 12, save that upgrade for when Apple decides to do a full noticeable upscale. There are androids that have the front facing camera built in under the screen where you can’t even see it, giving you 100% screen availability, and fingerprint readers built into the screen or on the power button. Had Apple really amped up the performance without the battery drainage and gotten with 2022 where they could take some excellent pointers from some android features, my review would more than likely be much more favorable.

iPhone at its next best!

I purchased this iPhone 14 Pro Max to replace an older iPhone model. The leap in technology is absolutely amazing.Firstly, the camera technology has made huge improvements, the clarity in images even when zoomed in are impressive and the camera controls themselves are as simple as their predecessors. With that said the only slight downside to this the phone without a case means the lenses will make contact to a surface which could damage them.Secondly the speed of the processors within are phenomenal, the transfer process was easy and to my surprise - quick! Apps were downloaded and restored to what I had on my previous iPhone all within an hour. Face ID has also sped up tremendously and now responds almost instantly when needing to use Apple Pay or log into ... MoreI purchased this iPhone 14 Pro Max to replace an older iPhone model. I paired this with Apples 14 Pro Max silicone case in Elderberry and the two complement each other wonderfully. As for value, overall I think it's good value for money. Apple products have always been expensive within the market however with competitors also in this price range I do not think that it's overpriced unlike other devices. If you like Apple and the iOS platform you will not be disappointed!Overall I'm really impressed with the new iPhone 14 Pro Max and would recommend it to anyone.
