I’ve owned each 12.9” iPad Pro so far. I’ve also sold each one so far. This is the first time I feel like I can keep this model for as long as I keep a laptop. The form has pretty much been perfected in my time with it, and the accessories make this feel like a complete mobile package. I know Adorama is photography focused but I illustrate with this device, and it’s nearly perfect. Since moving to Bluetooth earphones I don’t miss the headphone jack, and USB-C is a minor annoyance since I have a collection of lightning cables. That said, I can see iOS maturing more with USB-C connectivity. If you can sell an older iPad Pro to make up for the price, I can’t recommend this generation enough. If you’re new to iPad, you’ll love this device to enhance your creative workflow.

These can be as expensive as a Macbook if you get large storage, and 5g, but is it worth it? Consider the use case if its right for you over a Macbook. This is not a replacement and has a vastly different usage. It feels good in the hand but recommend the Logitech Folio cover as a must to protect your new toy. Screen is bright and has decent sound.

As a content creator and communications professional, the iPad Pro is an indispensable part of my creative workflow. The 2018 version is no exception and was a valuable upgrade in processing power. The rating was docked one star for the continued difficulty in managing assets between the iPad’s internal storage and external drives/flash media. Always having to import via the Photos application and synchronizing files through the cloud is a distinctly anti-professional quality of Apple’s iOS. If they would allow the connection of external storage via the USB-C port, this iPad Pro might see more use than my laptop...

I waited for a while not quite sure if I needed to buy an iPad, I had the the iPad 2 many years ago, which was just imo a large iPhone. However the new iPads are better with the stylus support and the IPadOS. I like the smooth writing experience with my IPad Pro and chose it over the IPad air because of the 120Hz refresh rate. I suppose the iPad air would have been sufficient but I didn't like the old design with the home button. I also like that this had a better processor and more speakers. I don't like that the iPad Pro does not have a headphone jack but honestly I bought this to do minor work (and not use my laptop) and make notes. It's worth buying this with the stylus and if you are going to be doing typing I suggest you get a keyboard case (Logitech Slim ... MoreI waited for a while not quite sure if I needed to buy an iPad, I had the the iPad 2 many years ago, which was just imo a large iPhone. It's proving to be a useful work tool although the price is on the high side
The main reasons I like this tablet include: 1. This iPad is exceptionally bright and detailed, but can also work well as a laptop if you have a compatible keyboard. 2. Despite its 12.9" size, it's surprisingly light. 3. This size of iPad is easily big enough for web browsing (especially with optimized apps), but is well suited for playing games, word processing, reading books, or even watching videos.
Seller stated info I needed to make an informative decision. This was my first Ipad so I researched all data available before the purchase and I am very pleased with this product. I opted for the large screen ( 12.9 ) with very large storage ( 512 ) and latest version ( 3rd generation ). I have been in the computer industry for more than 50 years so when I make a purchase I try to forecast if the item will be able to handle future upgrades, etc... so I don't impulse purchase.
The display is super responsive. You will never get back after you touch and see this display. 120hz is a killer.I pretty much enjoy the great user experience of IOS. With notability and PDF expert and iCloud sync, it is my best productive product and a great extension of MBP.Don't expect too much out of it, since it is NOT A DESKTOP, at least, not yet (Maybe WWDC 2020 will push the boundary). However, If you want to seriously take notes, read digital books / PDFs, and use your favorite apps with a much, much larger display, it is your deal.
I did replace my iPad 2017 10.5 Pro with this new one. This new one is significantly faster and doesn't take any time to do things. I really like the no-bezel look of the screen and the fact that they could reduce the overall footprint of this larger tablet to something reasonable. I didn't expect it to be as heavy as it is and I'm saying this with a cover/case installed. Once you put that on, it does seem to have a little weight. Also, with a cover, the Apple Pencil gets kind of tricky to stay magnetically attached to the iPad. Just a little bump and the Pencil goes flying off. I've ordered a new case that has a specific Pencil holder to prevent this from happening. I just wonder why no one at Apple considered this?
I upgraded to this 2018 iPad Pro from a 1st generation iPad Pro 12.9. I mainly need more space, coming from a 128. I didnt think I needed to skip all the way to the 2021 model with M1 chip, based on my usage. So far, it prices to have been the right move! Ive saved hundreds by going with a refurbished 2018, and Im still trying s faster processor, brighter screen, and more space than I had before, all in a smaller form factor. For the record, my 1st gen iPad Pro is still working great and going strong, with no signs of slowing down. If youre in the market for a large screen iPad Sabas want to really save a few bucks, try a 1st gen.
I’ve had an iPad Air for years and was ready to upgrade to iPad Pro. I was very much considering the 11”, and thought the 12.9” was too big. After demoing the both sizes pro at an Apple store, I decided on the 12.9. Now with iPad OS, I’m glad I did! The ability to add external drives, HD monitors, mouse, game controllers, along with the Smart keyboard and Apple Pen, this is a joy to work with! It has pretty much replaced my Mac mini which stay mostly in Sleep mode now. If you think the 12.9 is more than you need, then I’d definitely get the 11 inch. Since we can now connect external drives, I only got the 256GB model and use Samsung T5 external Solid State Drives for added storage and backup.
