Let’s be retro and go back to a 22-27

If I wanted a Hoka, I would purchase a Hoka, not an Asics. This new design copies Hoka and it does nothing for my overpronation. Bring back the Gel Kayano anny model 22-27 and I promise your sales will increase. I’m not sure if the new design is an attempt to reduce production cost, but I am more likely to send $160 on a Gel Kayano 22-26 or even 27. Gel Kayano 28+ have been on a decline in structure, suppor, and comfort. Let those who want to buy a Homa have a completely new shoe and call it something else rather than changing a classic shoe many have been wearing for 15 years or longer. People are asking repeatedly in your comments for the older style and waving you for Brooks and New Balance. Please help save your customer base.

No longer the stability shoe it was marketed as.

Gone is the shoe I’ve ran religiously in for 15 years and now it’s been replaced with a clunky platform shoe that feels like it’s taped on your foot with masking tape because the quality has gone down so much. Kayano set itself apart for years as being the highest stability shoe on the market with neat looking outer guide rail placement. Now it looks like every other shoe and doesn’t do the job it advertises. The width has gotten wider and the stack height is ridiculous, not to mention the stability has gone way down. Have a wide option for a reason, no need to widen the whole line. The 28 was the last decent Kayano, minus the heal material breaking down prematurely. Asics do yourself a favor and bring back the best stability shoe on the market and set yourself ... MoreGone is the shoe I’ve ran religiously in for 15 years and now it’s been replaced with a clunky platform shoe that feels like it’s taped on your foot with masking tape because the quality has gone down so much. As a long time Kayano wearer, I loved how versatile these shoes were, able to cope with most types of activity and any surface from the athletics track, to bitumen and gravel with no issues. I am now onto my 4th pair of Kayano 31's after having my previous pairs replaced after only 1.5 to 2 months wear due to faults including soles and uppers coming apart. I was ready to switch to another brand however decided to visit my local ASICS store before jumping ship. The shop assistant was fantastic, and was able to identify why I had potentially been having these issues with the Kayano 30s and 31s. While the newer model is great for walking (and they are so comfortable for this), unfortunately my much loved Kayanos are no longer suitable for my faster runs (I now also ... MoreAs a long time Kayano wearer, I loved how versatile these shoes were, able to cope with most types of activity and any surface from the athletics track, to bitumen and gravel with no issues. They are not the Kayano they used to be but ASICS now offers so many more options than they used to.I have my fingers crossed this pair holds up just being used for walks, as this model is so much better than the 30s in every aspect.

Perfect everyday training shoes
16 July 2024

#gifted these shoes from a week ago, these have been my go-to shoe this week for recovery. These are the perfect stability shoe, especially for my easy recovery runs. These are ideal for runners looking for a combination of moderate support and high-cushioning, which I love in a shoe. One thing I kept thinking to, was the incredible comfortable landing, which I could feel throughout the entirety of my runs. From my opinion, the materials feel sturdy, and I can tell this model is built to last plenty of miles; in an everyday training shoe. The new slightly thinner upper provides a secure, plush fit while still providing some wiggle room through the length of the shoe. One other key feature, is the outsole traction is quite good on both dry and wet road, which I have ... More#gifted these shoes from a week ago, these have been my go-to shoe this week for recovery. Stretch over time. No longer good quality
14 October 2024

Asics seem to always stretch out, and the sole gets worn out too quickly. My last 3 pairs havent lasted for longer than 6 months upon which they become too big. I only Walk in them, and so it seems they aren't made to last. Not even daily walks - just 2 to 3 times a week. At first they feel good, but give it a few months and you find yourself having to continually tighten the shoelaces because your foot starts moving around in the shoe. Seems the fabrics are not good quality and stretch out over time. I have swapped to toher brands because at $250+ a pair, I expect more from them. My $30 flip flops last longer than the asics sneakers.

Too wide for this gal.
5 August 2024

I have been running in ASICS for 20 years. I'm one of the unfortunate people with narrow feet and an even more narrow heel. ASICS have been my go to shoe because the shoes tend to be on the more narrow side. I purchased the 31 in my normal size and to my surprise, the shoe was too wide for my feet. I was so disappointed. I've tried the shoes that are specifically for narrow feet, and they have in the past tended to be a little too narrow for me. Even with the marathon loop which helps me secure my ankle, my foot was sliding all over the place - side to side and vertically. I ended up having to return these and go with a different brand. I hop ASICS can get back to their more slim fit in the future.

[Rewarded Review] A great surpise
1 July 2024

Having a neutral gait, I thought this pronation shoe wasn't for me. The Gel-Kayano 31 was a big revelation. Even though it felt as if I had invisible "training wheels" on both sides of the shoe, my first impression was great. After a few minutes, I understood how these shoes were designed to control each stride and resist movements that could cause injury. I see how this can happen when I get tired and loose focus on longer runs and/or running on uneven urban surfaces. Amazing comfort and stability. Excellent grip too. Will be using this pair on my longer training runs. A fantastic addition to my shoe rotation ahead of Paris 2024.

[Rewarded Review] Better in the right size!
10 August 2024

I love these. The problem with buying in line is that you don’t have the professional assistance. I thought that first time I’d got the right size and they felt ok when I tried them on. But after a day’s wearing under heavy use, my toenail told me I needed a bigger size. Very happy to do that - my fault for getting it wrong. Caveat emptor. My new ones are absolutely fab. Couldn’t be more pleased. Very supporting of my unnecessary extra weight, comfortable after several hours of action. Plenty of width and no sweatiness. And love the colour! My kids think I’m cool too and are in competion for the smaller ones. Luckily they have smaller feet than me.

[Rewarded Review] Perfect for flatter, wider feet!
9 November 2024

I got the Gel-Kayano 31 as my first pair of proper running shoes as a beginner. As someone who has flat feet with little to no arches, these have been great for overpronation. In other sports shoes and trainers, I often feel the pain in my shins and sole which even insoles struggle to fix. It’s always been the one thing that’s put me off running. With these shoes - no pain at all and I’m able to just focus on performance and form. These are unbelievably comfortable, the material is so breathable. Plenty of wiggle room in the toe box as well once you find the right size for you! Even after a run I don’t feel the heat that you normally get when your feet swell. Highly recommend these

[Rewarded Review] Running on Air with GEL-KAYANO 31
