With the GEL-KayANO 27 running shoe you will enjoy excellent comfort and advanced support. The redesigned mesh upper keeps your feet cool, while a more flexible sole makes the rolling phase of your movement more natural. This starts in the heel area with additional flex grooves that isolate the force of the initial impact and make the foot landing softer and smoother. After half of the movement, the inward rotation of the foot changes to an outward rotation, which ensures a high efficiency of your toe print. To further encourage this natural movement, DYNAMIC DUOMAX technology has been incorporated to support the foot and increase stability for runners whose feet tilt inwards too much (overpronation). The midsole also features SPACE TRUSSTIC technology that provides stability and reduces overall weight, making the transition from foot landing to toe imprinting easier. This extra stability is complemented by deeper flex grooves in the forefoot area, which also provide a smoother roll-off and toe impression phase and allow the shoe to move naturally with the foot. Finally, the visibility of the runner in low light conditions is increased by a large number of reflective materials in the rear foot area. The GEL-KAYANO 27 model is an excellent choice for all competitive or recreational runners looking for an everyday running shoe that combines comfort and support.

These are a great pair of shoes. Because my feet are on the narrower side, I hate how some manufactures are on the 'wider' side. However, ASICS are made absolutely perfect for me. Nothing like actually getting the correct size of shoe that's designed for your type of foot. It is the difference between 'night & day'. These are well designed with quality materials. Great if your interests are running, jogging or walking distances. They won't disappoint.

They are nice looking running shoes with comfortable uppers and good strong support around foot arches and ankle. Used twice since purchase on a 10k training run on roads and 8k multi-terrain. Good grip, balance and impact assorption on the harder surface and no issues on trails although would prefer trail shoes on rough tracks as these are not best suited for trails; previous similar shoes used mostly on trails tended get cut and damaged. Looking forwards to next park run with these shoes to see if they can improve my 5K time - hope so!

The shoe was very comfortable and seemed to provide a good amount of support for my flat feet. True to size and appeared to be of high quality materials. the knit upper material felt nice but is a bit thin could potentially face durability issues over time. Unfortunately, I returned the shoes due to structural concerns/issues/irritations. Upon stepping and applying pressure the toe box would collapse in and cause dimples on both sides. I did some digging and found similar reviews online.

These guys are excellent if you pronate. Loads of support and super cushiony. I am one of the suckers that is FOREVER in between sizes. I'm a female who normally wears a women's 9.5, but sometimes its too small, and the 10 is too big. For some reason when Asics' updates their shoe each season, they tweak something that pushes that size up or down a smidge. I have heard that the fabric (colour) changes often impact the size too. My workaround was to purchase the men's in an 8, as they are slightly wider. These are almost perfect, but are still a hair smaller than I was expecting. I think they should work well if I wear thinner running socks. If you are in-between sizes, be wary! Otherwise they are fantastic.
ASICS Kayano 27's feel like they're YOUR shoe. There's nothing worse than putting on shoes that you spend a lot on that just can't feel quite right no matter how tight or loose you tie your laces or no matter what socks you put on with them. That's why the ASICS gel Kayano 27 feels like it's a pair of shoes that feel well worth your money. They have the right balance of cushioning and support to hug your foot to keep your foot well supported down on the arch. The dynamic duomax in the outsole seems to be the right amount of springy feeling mixed with shock absorption to propel and absorb impact away from your legs and feet. The shoe locks in your heel which is a very important part to a support shoe. The shoe locks in your heel which is a very important part to a support shoe. Even when you look down at a Kayano, you can feel happy that your wearing such a great shoe.Unlike the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 21, I believe that ASICS has their latest support shoe sitting in that right balance of support without pushing your foot onto over supination (too much pressure on the outside). If you needed to look for an alternative shoe for walking in the Brooks range, I would try the Ghost 13's over the Adrenaline. But if you are after a full bore runner, and you over pronate, you will need the support of a Kayano or Adrenaline to prevent injuries and the Ghost may not lock in your foot enough.Either way, to save your money, you need to find which one works for your needs and the Kayano 27 fits into most of mine. The only tiny thing that I would suggest for ASICS later reiteration is to try to replace the material around the Achilles with a material that locks on better rather than slide over the Achilles like that in Brooks.Although I would say that ASICS have made it silky on to prevent injury to the Achilles when running. So it's no drama to me if they did change it or not.
I was gifted a pair Gel-Kayano 28 size 11 for my birthday on 01/25/2023 as my hiking shoes had worn out. I used them approximately a week later on a 4 mile hike and developed a blister on my left heal. I took it as this was a new pair of shoes and needed some wearing in. About 2 weeks later took the same hike and developed a new blister in the same area while wearing the shoes for the 2nd time. I began examining the shoes better and discovered that material was bunching up on the heel and was different than the one on the right heel, which was smooth and padded. Instead of asking the gift giver for a receipt, I looked at Asis website and they indicated that they covered manufacturing defects. I began examining the shoes better and discovered that material was bunching up on the heel and was different than the one on the right heel, which was smooth and padded. Instead of asking the gift giver for a receipt, I looked at Asis website and they indicated that they covered manufacturing defects. Called the company and they sent me over a form to fill out along with a bunch of questions to answer and requesting photos of the damage. Filled the form out and sent the pics and was surprised at the response. Quote: ASICS has reviewed your application for a warranty and determined that your shoes do not meet the criteria for a warranty, as the product has been determined not to have a manufacturing defect. This warranty does not cover any defects due to improper fit, normal wear and tear, damage due to improper use, misuse, improper transportation or storage, failure to follow product instructions, modification or alteration to the product, unauthorized repair, or negligence. ASICS has determined this product is not defective and the damage to the shoe is not a result of, or caused by, the materials used in the manufacturing of the product or an error in the manufacturing process and is a result of either improper fit, normal wear and tear, damage due to improper use, misuse, or negligence. The area on the upper heel of these shoes is a soft, flexible cushioning material that is intended to cushion the back of the heel against the top part of the upper heel structure of the shoes. These shoes are intended to have a tight, non-slipping fit against the heel (a finger should not fit between the foot and the shoe). These shoes are intended to be fully unlaced and loosened before being removed, and are intended to be tightened around a foot rather than being tied before inserting the foot. Can Customer service explain how the above mentioned items could have occurred after one use? This happened after one use, then again after a 2nd use. Improper use? Wear and tear? Fully unlaced? Thought I was getting a quality pair of shoes which failed on the 1st try. Asics now indicates that it was my fault after 1st use?
I typically run 30-50 km’s per week for 8-9 months of the year, and ASICS Kayano’s have been my go to sneakers for many years mainly due to their stability and durability. For me, they improve with each years revision with exception of the toe box which can vary from release to release. One earlier revision (I can’t remember which!) featured a toe box that was far too narrow causing me to replace them as soon as the replacement revision was released. With these version 27’s the toe box again seems much snugger although because the upper is mesh it isn’t uncomfortable. But if you have wide feet I suggest getting the wider version of the shoe. Overall, I’m happy with these and see no reason to buy alternatives any time soon.
As I am a runner that over-pronates, I have always found the Kayano's best to absorb the impact that appears to my upper inner sole. I found the 27's a lot more sturdy than previous versions (26's).As I run around 3-4 times a week, I usually need a second set to offset the impact and also give me longevity. I can say these last around 700-800km before I start losing traction in the upper sole (where I land initially). Cannot fault them as a shoe overall, always try and stick with the versions that work before upgrading to each years 'new version'. If you have had Asics Kayano before, you will find these to be their best versions yet (in my opinion), worth the money!
Although we had to purchase this product online due to Covid lockdown I was confident that we would not be disappointed because Asics has never let us down. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get a discount, but the price is worth the comfort and support. I have been an Asics fan for over two decades and there is no other brand that compares. The Kayano is an exceptional shoe. I am a woman with a Men's Size 11 foot and unfortunately, Australia does not stock Women's Size 13, so the colours are sometimes a bit limited, but sometimes I am lucky and Asics releases a groovy unisex design.
Asics and stability shoes have a long history, and the 27th iteration of this classic doesn’t disappoint. With flytefoam midsole along with gel components, the cushioning is excellent, while cleverly placed elements provide the optimal support for overpronators for a steady stride each time. The outsole too is one of the best you can get for running shoes with excellent traction on a variety of surfaces. The only drawback is that it’s slightly heavy but other than that I wouldn’t think twice recommending it to people.Well done Asics!
