A good training partner for mid to long runs

I bought this show to use on my mid to long runs as part of a cycle of shoes to use during a phase of a marathon training. These were comfortable straight out of the box and I was able to take them on a 10 mile run, I would say that they have increased in comfort following a breaking in period, I'm now up to 60+ miles and they feel like they have moulded to my foot. I have used them on a few tempo runs and they are comfortable but not particularly lightweight or responsive. They do provide a good level of support due to the light truss and this is definitely more forgiving than the due max of previous models. I found the outsole to be pretty poor in the wet, it offered little grip on hill sessions at pace. I am a midfoot striker so "unfortunately" can't comment on the gel heel.

A light and comfortable pair of running shoes

A light and comfortable pair of runners, ideal for us overpronators. I've run in previous versions, so knew what I was getting. The GT-2000 10s feel a fair bit lighter than the predecessors, though - not a bad thing at all. Earlys days, but the first 100 or so kms have been absolutely fine.

Comfort / Support / Balance and a UK12.5!
19 October 2022

When you are a size 12.5UK it can be tricky finding an Asics shoe that fits correctly. This issue is what drew me to this model initially as its frustrating trying to find a Kayano/Cumulus that works for me as I have to chose between a 12UK and a 13UK and neither size quite work for me.I'm glad I did - because this is a perfect shoe. I have slightly flat and medium to wide feet, it hugs and supports with total comfort. It's not so built up that it looks a little blocky. The new mesh hugs the toes without feeling restrictive at all. Fit is true to size with your normal running shoe, unless you have boxy square feet where I'd suggest you size up.I run in the Asics Glideride. Its the model that got me into running in the first place, totally revolutionised an activity I didnt enjoy. have to size up to a UK13 though. So I use the GT-2000 10 as my day to day walking/recovery shoe. Couldnt find a better option to do the job.If there was one criticism - ASICS! People like me have size 12.5UK feet and we need your help! Please can you update your stock levels and supply this size across your premium ranges because if you dont people will shop elsewhere. Always very limited supply and colour-way range. What about the Kayano? 12.5UK's dont feature much which is a shame. There I've said my piece.I love this shoe. I have no doubt you will too.

Great pair of shoes if you need some stability
23 August 2023

Now on my fifth pair of GT-2000. Can’t fault them in any way, comfortable, stable and, personally I find them quick running. They compliment my running style perfectly. I have tried other brands and models, however, these GT-2000s are by far the best in my opinion.

Light weight with comfort!
17 January 2023

This is my second GT-2000 purchase, after I was impressed by my first pair. They are significantly lighter in weight than anything else I've experienced. It makes them effortless to move about in, almost like wearing carpet slippers - sometimes I don't know I've got them on. I went up one size as the first pair is a snug fit, but both can be worn for hours without fatigue. I like them a lot and plan to buy further pairs in future to extend the colour selection.

Loving my speedsters
21 July 2023

I purchased the GT-2000 as my present to me at the start of a half marathon training plan, as a running that is still carrying a few excess kg I have needed shoes with more support through 5k and 10k plans, this shoe I saw as my next step. I call them speedsters, I’ve noticed immediate improvement in my mile splits between these and my previous shoes, they continue to offer great support and cushioning as I pound the road with my 1s and 2s. The fit is great, with the width in the toe box I need. If I could change one thing, longer laces please, I have a wide fit and a few extra inches would help a bit.

Still the best long distance trainer
13 February 2023

The standard for long distance training is as good as ever. Brilliant support for the arches and just the right amount of feedback when out on those long runs. A shoe that preforms right through its lifespan from the first time you lace them up until you decide it’s time for a new pair. These really are the perfect everyday running must have.

Surprisingly Good
28 June 2023

I used the old GT2000 series of the nineties etc until they were replaced by the GT2 and now the the new GT2000 series. Loved the old shoes and they never gave me any problems over many years. These new GT series shoes seem about on a par as you follow the update iterations. Plenty of toe room for my arthritic toes, good arch support and surprisingly comfortable cushioning on a run. Stability is excellent in controlling pronation. The shoe tread seems to have been more aimed at smooth road surfaces but still works OK on off-road work as long as it is not too severe.A good all-round shoe that works well without being over expensive

Terrific value performance show
13 March 2022

I think these are slightly narrower than standard, which suits me as I have narrow feet. The ankle collar is quite low, feels more slipper like than other models. The midsole is quite slim, particularly compared to the Kayano. This gives it a firmer feel, but still very absorbent. The insole has a pronounced shape, with a fairly high arch support. Again, this is something I want and need.I particularly like the knitted style upper. Hugs the foot really wellAll told, a good choice for me, that I prefer over more expensive options
