The support is good, they look great, but I have worn the kayanos for many years now and this is the first that the bottoms have peeled off. This is my second pair of this specific shoe just in case the first was just a fluke, but they both have started peeling within the first month of wearing.

I’m hoping it will prove to be durable for the long run… but only time will tell for this feature. Highly recommend. Note that this model appears to be slightly narrower and longer. Normally. I wear a size 10.5 women’s, but for this model a size 10 was a better fit.

The Gel Kayano 29 MK is my favorite shoe- great fit, supportive, snug and a great look. I appreciate that the laces are almost just a detail- the shoes slide right on. I bought two pairs in case this style is no longer available when I wear out the first pair.

Love this shoe. The style and color make it very versatile, and they are sooooo comfy. I really like how it hugs the arch and ankle. I don't even need the laces, which is a good thing because they are so snug, I can't really tie them without cutting off circulation. No worries, I use them like a slip-on. The toe box is wider than other Kayano - so wide that I had to downsize from 8 to 7.5. This is now my go to for everything except running, which is why it has 4 stars rather than 5...I can't use them for running because of the inconsistency between the fit of the toe box and rest of shoe. I don't recommend the MK for running but definitely recommend if you walk and/or stand long hours.
I enjoy the GEL-KAYANO 29 MK Asics more than the Nike, Adidas and Hoka running shoes I have. They are wide in the toes, which is what the others are lacking. They hug your heels, which makes me feel more stable. I would suggest buying a half to a full size higher than normal. They were a little snug, but I wore thick socks to break them in. I love these sneakers!
I ordered online and didn’t realize there is no tongue to the shoe. It’s all made together. So it makes it extremely hard for me to get in. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis all over my body. My hands especially can’t handle how hard it is to get my feet in. Other than that they are comfortable. I have been buying ascics for many years. The gel kanyo. Next time I will have to do research to make sure this doesn’t happen again.
I purchased the ASICS Gel Kayak 29 MK and it has really helped my arthritic foot to walk better. I was previously using another reputable brand shoes as my "go to" shoes but since purchasing this particular Gel-Kayano 29 MK, my feet have been happier! I purchased another pair--one for the clinic and one for home. No more limping!
I absolutely love this pair of shoes because of the sock opening and it's super comfortable. I believe the MK is supposed to just be the sock opening difference but I got the GEL-KAYANO 29 beige and this is more comfortable. I had to return it because the black to white gradient didn't really work with the clothes that I have. The other color options are not great either. I badly wish they will come out with this again in a more neutral color like all beige/white/super faded pastels, greys
This is my second pair of Gel-KAYANO. I wear orthotic in the shoes and they provide the best support for my foot issues. I was Leary of spending $160 but the money is well spent to support the severe arthritis I have . Highly recommend.
This is the second pair of the Gel-Kayano MK I have purchased after wearing the straight Gel-Kayano for years, and I will never go back to the original version again. The "sock" like feel of the MK is super comfortable, and the secure-but-not-tight design means I don't have to spend time adjusting and re-adjusting my laces until I get the perfect snugness like I used to. I hope they continue to make this shoe, and start offering more color options too.
