Far too high which caused me to fall off the pavement into the road in front of oncoming traffic. I am a yoga teacher and because of the bone bruising and swollen ankle, I had to give up teaching my regular classes. After my knees felt better for walking, I tried them again but felt very nervous wearing them. I ran them through the wash so that I could resell them, only for part of the outer sole to rip off in the machine in a gentle wash.I previously purchased Asics Gel-Kayano 27 from another supplier and they were so fantastic, I bought a second pair. No worries about rolling my ankle. However, the fabric was not designed to last long and my toes pushed through after a few months. Would not recommend as the 30 is completely unsafe, and neither type are durable.

I have been wearing Kayano's for most of my life for running (~15 years), and as a supportive shoe for walking and in the workplace when I am on my feet often. My last pair (I believe) were Kayano 28, so between them and these Kayano 30, there has been a tremendous change, which I am not yet 100% sure of my final thoughts on. With the whole base/sole seemingly changed, there is a lot more foam and it looks a lot chunkier/broader across the bottom, particularly in the medial part of the shoe. I was a bit apprehensive about this based on how they looked. They still look nice on the foot, but certainly clunkier looking. However, they certainly have a completely new feel for wearing for running - I have Ascis Metaspeed/sky for racing and speed sessions - these new ... MoreI have been wearing Kayano's for most of my life for running (~15 years), and as a supportive shoe for walking and in the workplace when I am on my feet often. My last pair (I believe) were Kayano 28, so between them and these Kayano 30, there has been a tremendous change, which I am not yet 100% sure of my final thoughts on. I am interested to see in the long term if companies sway towards all types of runners being 'supershoes' with either carbon plates or other soles that are similar may help with wear and tear on the body, and provides more bounce and speed, however, if I had wanted to wear super shoes for all activities, then I would have bought them. They definately change the way I run - as I am a heel strike runner, these types of shoes help me strike more in the midfoot, which is helpful when running at speed and/or racing middle/long distance, however, I liked the old kayano's for every day easy runs, and also for wearing day to day when walking or on my feet - so far, I don't think I am keen on wearing the Kayano 30 for this reason. The arch support remains the same and is supportive for what I need, but honestly, the shoe is so different from a few years ago that I think it should have been called something new? And/or the option for the Kayano to be purchased with the old style sole? I will have to hunt for some 27/28 style shoes as I think I will still prefer to have the flatter, less responvie sole for some of my running. With the change in my style/stride for easy jogs, I am getting a lot of extra force and strain through my tibialis muscles, which I wouldn't usually get.All in all, it has been good as a running shoe - but feels so much like my carbon plated 'supershoes' I have specifically for race specific sessions and road races.

My first thought when I saw the kayo 30 model was they reminded me of Hoka's, which I don't like at all. But, having worn and loved asics for years I would give them a chance. I wear them for work and am on my feet for 9 hours a day. After having them for a month now I am looking for another pair of shoes. They have changed everything that I love about asics and they are very much like Hoka's. If I wanted Hoka's, I would have bought Hoka's. They don't have the same support that previous asics models have and although they are soft a squishy, they just aren't comfortable to wear all day.I can't imagine wearing them for running. I am now looking to find a new brand of shoe that I can replace my asics with. Hopefully this is a 1 and done and they go back to the older ... MoreMy first thought when I saw the kayo 30 model was they reminded me of Hoka's, which I don't like at all. Iâve been wearing Gel-Kayanoâs for many years, always in the same size. My last pair were the Kayano 27âs and they were a perfect fit. Imagine my surprise when I bought this pair and the toe box was uncomfortably tight. I had received a 10% off discount when I purchased the shoes, so I contacted customer service thinking to exchange the pair for a larger size. I was told repeatedly that the 10% discount is a one use discount and that they couldnât help me with exchanging for a larger size. It was actually comical, because they advised within the same phone call that one should purchase their same shoe size when buying within the same brand/style as a general rule, but then also stated that going from the 27âs to the 30âs was a large jump and of course there would be ... MoreIâve been wearing Gel-Kayanoâs for many years, always in the same size. I was told that they would ask their supervisor to see if they could provide me with a discount on the larger size and send me an email with the results. The email came back saying âI'm sorry but we cannot provide the 10% discount as it's for one-time use onlyâ. Iâm assuming âasking their supervisorâ was just to get me off of the phone. I will be returning the shoes and purchasing from a different brand as ASICS clearly cares more about inflating their quarterly earnings than keeping loyal customers. This entire experience was hugely disappointing.
I bought these for my daughter and.they hurt her feet after wearing them only 45 minutes. blisters. They were the same size as her previous ones yet didnât fit the same. Customer service is very strict on only returning a completely new shoe having not worn it at all even if you have it a short time. They referred me to Warranty who obviously didnât look at what I sent because the asked for the same information plus other things seemingly to make it as difficult and cumbersome as possible to return . I was surprised their customer service was so poor. They even refuse to buy a supervisor or manager on the line. If you must buy this shoe, I wouldnât buy it direct because of their poor customer relations. This sneaker is very comfortable like the Nimbus. If you prioritize comfort and need a bit of guidance stability, this is a great option. The fit should work for many - normal in the heel and mid-foot and accommodating in the forefoot/toe box. There should be no issue with heel slip. It is secure and plush at the same time. I tend to find 0-6 mm drop sneakers the most comfortable, however this sneaker works well, so I wouldnât cross it off your list on account of stated drop, and I am a mid-foot runner. I think it is very durable and will perform well in all weathers. Now that itâs on sale, if you can afford to, go ahead and purchase. I think itâs a sneaker you wonât want to take off and that will last.
Well, in my experience anyway. Loved the newer lightweight feel, higher heel and more room for the forefoot. But thereâs something not right, the famous scientific factor of Kayanos is missing in right shoe of my pair. 29s if the same size and fit were more supportive in the upper skeleton of the shoe, but I had to change over since their inner sole didnât last long (became hard and flat in a few months) and using an insole would make them too tight. I supplemented them with Reebok for a while and then turned to 30. The right foot 30 is giving a sore lateral mid foot and discomfort under the ankle, at the end of the day 6hr day. Also gives pain on standing, the bodyâs weight is âfelt heavilyâ on the right foot in the 30. When walking I have to put effort into ... MoreWell, in my experience anyway. No such issues with 29s n Reebok.Higher cost understandable, design liked, but disappointed by quality. Bottom soleâs grooves are extremely superficial and will diminish soon. Luckily I had kept the 29s for âď¸ and am back to using them and Reeboks interchangeably. Bought 30s in July, hardly used- wasted.
After wearing Kayanos for the past 12 years for daily walking, this will be my last pair. The shoe build and fit has changed so much that it no longer works for me. The toe box seems more narrow and shallow. The first time I wore them, I got a painful blister on the medial side of my right foot near my heel. When I reached out to customer service, I was told no refunds or exchanges on shoes that have been worn outside. I have continued to try and break them in, since I canât afford to replace them. After wearing them 6-7 times, they are still the most uncomfortable athletic shoes I have ever owned. This is so unfortunate, as Iâve probably had 12-14 pair of Kayanos over the years and they have been comfortable right out of the box. Good cushioning and shock absorption, however, I prefer my Asics Gel Nimbus 23s. I should have ordered what I was familiar with, but I wanted to try something new. These are OK, but the heel folds in slightly when I put them on and the tongue seems very short, which is slightly annoying when I am putting them on. The sole of the heel is also very wide and not particularly cute. Once they are on, they are OK, but I prefer the spring I get from the Gel Nimbus when running, and those don't have the folding heel and short tongue issues that these do. I think these are probably better for stability, but I don't normally have problems with that. I returned the first pair because they run a little shorter than the Gel Nimbus, so by the time I got the second pair, I didn't ... MoreGood cushioning and shock absorption, however, I prefer my Asics Gel Nimbus 23s. I have a wide feet to begin with and normally I wear Hokaâs in wide and I have no problems but I wanted to give ASICS a chance. These are the shoes recommended by the representative at Nordstrom and at first they seemed comfortable and supported. This feeling, however, did not last long as the shoes are narrow and hurt my feet in different places every time. I would get more foot pain walking in the shoes then I would from any other shoe. My foot was getting overly compressed by the shoe and the area near my arch would hang over the cushion, causing pain. The heel cushion would dig into my heels. Even the outside of my foot by my toes would be raw by the end of my work day.
