Bell MX-9 Adventure Mips Helmet Born from Bell's extensive and legendary experience, the Bell MX-9 Adventure Mips Helmet blends the best of their dirt and street knowledge into a feature packed middleweight ADV helmet. Equally at home on the street as it is in the dirt, the MX-9 panders to those riders who are out there pushing boundaries and not stopping when the road ends and the trail begins. The lightweight polycarbonate shell comes in three different sizes, mitigating bulk and providing a more comfortable fit. Bell's velocity-flow ventilation system keeps air flowing, forcing fresh air in and hot moist air out, while the removable and washable liner and cheek pads ensures you can keep sweat and bacteria build up at bay. The MX-9 ADV helmet can also transform into a more streetable helmet by removing the peak visor. Included side pods replace the visor where it mounts to the helmet, giving you sleek top-gun styling. When you hit the dirt and need the added protection of a pair of goggles, simply flip up the shield and throw 'em on. The MX-9 is designed to work with any dirt goggle out there. Truly a go-anywhere, do-anything helmet, the Bell MX-9 Adventure helmet fills a much needed gap in the market and is perfect for pros and beginners alike.

Good value for the price range. Riding the MABDR in the dust and also rain and it worked well. Good ventilation with the shield closed. The lip on the shield can block your vision if it's cracked open. There is a good variety in colors and sizes so there is something for everyone. I am wearing a 2xl and it fits well except for a little discomfort around the ears (but I have fat head). I would definitely recommend the MX-9 for an affordable helmet.

I've worn a Bell helmets since riding my first bike. This helmet fits me perfect and is comfortable for extended rides. Noise level is lower than an open face helmet and not distracting. No problems with face shield fogging. Haven't had a chance to test the MIPS factor nor do I want one but Bell technology offers me confidence in the safety built into this helmet. The only down side I've found so far is in donning prescription glasses which presents challenges in wearing them properly. I hope to resolve this issue by experimenting with the cheek pads.. Overall, I'm pleased with this helmet and reccomend.

Purchased my first on-off and realized none of my helmets matched, and thats how I found this. First off, Movatik's deal I got was incredible. I paid so little, I'm not quite sure they made any money. It appears the color I picked may have gotten removed, as I don't see it anymore, so maybe that's why, but it's the one in the picture above, Black and Safety yellow on the bottom and I love it.I am a huge fan of full face, and this is the perfect mix between Dirt Bike and street use.It pulls a little when you lift your face up, but thats expected with a visor like this, and you have your visor tipped down for the sun most of the time anyway.I will always purchase Bell helmets as they have the crash replacement policy, so if you ever bump your noggin, the last ... MorePurchased my first on-off and realized none of my helmets matched, and thats how I found this. Call them up, and theyll hook you up with a killer discount on the website on a new helmet. I fell on my face one time, minor laceration on my leg, road rash and scrapes on the front of my helmet, but I really don't think there was much of an impact, and without any questions, Bell gave me a 50% discount code.Downside seems like spending the 150$ on an auto-tinting visor seems like the only way to go, but I haven't made that investment yet.Overall, I am super happy with my purchase at Movatik and my Bell helmet.

The positives: the Bell MX-9 helmet is light weight, fits true to size, and has great visibility. On the fit, it's "comfortably tight," meaning I followed their sizing guide to a T and bought the size recommended for me and it fits very snug, but it isn't quite headache-inducing - which I think is what you want for a safe fit. And it's a great deal (when ion sale) for a quality helmet with MIPS.The negatives: it's probably the loudest helmet I've ever owned, and that's really two different problems. First, it "sounds cheap" in that it sounds like there is no sonic damping - my bike sounds different with this helmet than it does with any of my others because I can hear every sound it makes like I'm pressing my ear to the engine while I ride. It's also loud in that ... MoreThe positives: the Bell MX-9 helmet is light weight, fits true to size, and has great visibility. First, it "sounds cheap" in that it sounds like there is no sonic damping - my bike sounds different with this helmet than it does with any of my others because I can hear every sound it makes like I'm pressing my ear to the engine while I ride. It's also loud in that it creates its own wind noise at just about any speed - and it's particularly bad at diminishing that noise as described above. The "tab" for raising/lowering the shield is terrible - it's a smoothly curved mini lip that's a pain to use, which seems like a dumb design mistake since it's so easy to get that right. It also has mediocre ventilation with only the simplest vents. And the sun shade is too short and high up on the helmet to be fully useful. My other ADV helmets have much more effective sun shades because of how much lower (and longer) they are.
The MX9 is a nice entry level helmet with some good features.Pros- Great price point- Great fit for an intermediate oval melon. Never had any hotspots.- Vision field is pretty good (yes visor has distortion at bottom as part of design never bothered me tbh).- Great visor options. Transitions, smoke and clear all available and reasonably priced.- MIPS - enough said.- Vented well.Cons- Noisey as heck- Fixed vents let rain in- Visor to helmet fitment poor (moderate rain showers causes visor to flood)- Helmet design barely accommodates installation of comms base plate (helmet is thick right where the comms base plate needs to go)With all that said the MX9 is a good starting point for any ADV rider. Decided not to keep after trying on multiple times, and wanting it to work. Felt the shell was undersized for a size large. Felt like my chin was either poking out or had it so far tilted forward the back of my head felt exposed. The peak in the lowest position didn't seem to block sunlight without tipping my head too far down. Didn't like the front grip point to open the visor, nor the thick bottom to the visor. Good construction, great price, like that it had mips, like that you can order an auto tint shield, and a liner for cold weather but in the end the comfort wasn't there. I've been spoiled by the comfort of more expensive helmets. However there hasn't been any updates in design on the XD4 which made me want to try the Bell.
This is my first dual sport helmet and it was worth the purchase. I traded out the clear lenses for some dark smoke. I also purchased the cold weather kit from Bell's website for the cold Appalachian mornings. The helmet is comfortable and beats any motor cross helmet on the highway. Very breathable helmet as well. And yes, you can run goggles perfectly fine. This helmet's visor can be removed as well so you can run it as a sport bike helmet which is sick
Bought the MX-9 Adventure to use when I'm out on my CRF300L. A good value for its market. Solid build quality, good fit, good interior materials. My only real complaints are with the visor. Lack of detent range choices for holding the visor open, and the ridge at the bottom of the visor that is in line of sight when the visor is in any position besides all the way up or all the way closed. The vents work well but are a obvious source of wind noise. A piece of black tape fixes the wind noise and keeps the cold air out on a cold days ride. Once I fit my 45mm speakers in the pockets that are built in (all helmets should have this!) the helmet got quieter because it closes the small gap to my ears where that pocket is. Got this promptly from fort one as usual. Good price compared to other dealers. The helmet out of the box fits snug but I can already feel it loosening up while it fits my face. A very cool helmet. Feels well made. Why only two stars? This is a clean wind helmet. If your bike has a windscreen like mine and produces even a bit of buffering forget this helmet. It transmits a low thrumming noise right into your head. I tried with an aftermarket windscreen as well as the stock windscreen and it was the same for both. Only standing on the pegs getting into clean air was I able to rid myself of the thrumming noise. This isnt your normal wind noise (why i bought the bigger windscreen for my precious helmet. gave me a headache that lasted 24 hours after just a two hour ... MoreGot this promptly from fort one as usual. I've been wearing Bell helmets since I was a kid starting over five decades ago. This is my first new Bell for offroad motorcycle use in three decades and, true to form, the sizing was right, the capabilities were there and it was affordable. I'm mostly a fair weather rider in Northern Nevada high country desert and that means ventilation is required and this works. It's comfortable, has speaker pockets for intercom/phone use, has plenty of room to bury wires and also has snap out cheek pads that make the process simple. I'd like to have a little more movement on the peak but for the most part this is hitting all my sweet spots. I like it.
