I find. Birkenstocks to be rigid and uncomfortable. I bought a pair last year and hardly wore them because of the hard plastic they use to go in between your toes. So when I bought a new pair the other day I returned them a day later thinking “why spend more $ on a bad product”. I don’t get why their so popular when they are so uncomfortable

These are my wife's favorite sandals. She bought her first pair when we were vacationing in Nashville 5 years ago. We were walking a lot and her feet were hurting. We walked into a Birkenstock store and she loved the style, fit and feel, of these sandals, so she bought them. She instantly fell in love with them. So for Christmas this year I surprised her with a new pair.

It was a Christmas gift for my 17 year old grand daughter. I got her the new habanero brown Arizona style. She screamed she was so excited when she opened them. I’m 83 and have worn Birks for years. While visiting me she inquired why so had so many pairs. I said because it’s the only shoe I find comfortable. She’s an athletes and wears a US size 10 1/2 so 11 in EU. I was with her 3 days and she never took them off except to go to bed. Needless to say they were a hit.

The only sandal that I wore in the 90's and early 2000's. Some how I moved on to mandals. No foul, love them both. There is a way that you work your toes in a Birkenstock that is different than other sandals. Don't buy them for style, buy them for the health of your feet. Crazy but the moment that I tried them on after several years it was like going home. They run large. I normaly wear a 43 but in these I run a 42. Don't get caught up on size just make sure your heal is planted in the foot bed and that your toes fit the web. An unchanged product after so many years. Almost unheard of.
Been wearing them for 2 weeks now and still very painful. Not sure the hype about that brand. On top of that, it starts ungluing on the side of the sandal, between the strap and the sole. Bought a size following recommendation from the brand but turns out, as the leather gets softer, they are becoming too large. So basically, I paid big price and now stuck with a defective and loo large sandals.
Birkenstock - need I say more! Absolutely love this sandal. Give them a few weeks to break in and once you do, you won't be reaching for another shoe. These sandals have become my go-to from spring to fall (even sometimes in the winter). REI has a great selection of sizes and colors, though I continue to buy the same color time and time again. If you're deciding on your first pair, this is a can't miss.
I used to love these sandals, and a pair would normally last for several years under normal wear during the summer months. My last two pairs have only lasted me one season, with the footbed coming apart from the sole, along with one of the straps completely coming off on the outside. So disappointing because they've always been my go-to sandal. Quality of these has gone down significantly over the years.
I looked everywhere for size 45 in oiled leather Birkenstock. Especially khaki. Sold out in Australia. Looked instore DJs. Staff said sold out. My friend said try DJs online. They had black and khaki in 45. Couldn't believe it. And they were discounted. Spend and save promotion. $50 off. Delivered within the week. So happy as its a Xmas present for my son. The whole family have Birkenstocks as they are so comfortable and excellent quality.

I’ve seen these since high school back in the 90s. I’m flat footed and my wife and I each bought a pair to try. They are absurdly overpriced for cork and glue! 120 bucks. Since we work from home I wore mine everyday for 3 months. Super painful. I even wear orthotics but these were so painful to break in. After two months I got them where they were actually great and I thought to myself, this is what people talk about in terms of birks being so great, comfortable and formed to my feet. At 4 months the sole started separating. At 6 months they were no longer wearable and fell apart. Not to mention as they break in you have to keep punching holes in the strap. Absolutely garbage.
