Birkenstock Boston Oiled Leather Regular Fit Clogs are a veritable classic that can easily be worn all year round. Oiled nubuck leather Upper Anatomically shaped cork-latex footbed One strap with an individually adjustable metal pin buckle Suede footbed lining EVA sole Deep heel cup The very deep moulding in the heel area supports the foot tissue and holds the heel bone firmly in its natural position. This provides the foot with nearly as much support when it is in a sandal as when it is in a closed shoe. Heel mould Activates the calf muscles, stabilises the back of the foot and improves gait and coordination. Interior and exterior longitudinal arch supports The arch supports that run alongside the sides of the footbed surround the tarsal bones inside and out. This gives the foot the stability it needs when it takes a step. Transverse arch support The support that runs through the middle of the footbed stabilises the metatarsal bone. In this way, the transverse arch support helps ensure that the foot has a naturally straight and solid stance. Toe grip There are raised indentations at the front of the footbed near the toes. Thanks to the toe grip the toes remain loose and spread out in their natural position. The indentations also support the natural rolling motion of the toes. Footbed edge The footbed is drawn up especially high at the front. As a result, the high footbed edge protects the toes during the rolling motion of the foot.

I am between a 7 1/2 and 8 and wrestle with which size to get in every brand I try. Birkenstocks are known to be roomy in the toebed, so after over-analyzing it all and reading other reviews, I decided to go with the 39. I plan to wear them with warm socks. Now that I've had these a few weeks, I can say that I no longer believe that Birks have a wide toe bed. (The size inside indicates narrow-- who knew?) They aren't tight, but they aren't as roomy as I wanted. Also, they are a tiny bit long. If I had gone down to a 38, I fear that they would be too narrow.Other than that, the shoes are beautiful. The suede is buttery soft and they are so cute! I'm so glad to have found them. They were out of stock in several other places. Thanks, Dillards!

Do not size up. They will be too big. Pay attention to where your toes sit on the ridges.Caveat: Many Nordstrom sales associates tell customers (mistakenly) to size down when they buy Birkenstock Arizonas. If these customers then go on to buy Bostons, they will find them less forgiving in a too small size than the 'Zonas. These poor folks then think, "I should size up," when really they're just back to the size they should have been all along. All that aside, these are great, great shoes. I prefer the harder leather versions to the suedes because I like to slip into these and kick them off without effort. They feel more like true clogs to me that way.

I have been searching for these shoes for some time now but they've been sold out everywhere! So happy that REI restocked them. These are my third pair of birks (I have two Arizona's) and they didn't disappoint! They're so comfy and keep the toes warm. Initially, I was searching for the taupe color but couldn't find any so I "settled" for this mocha color. Now that I have these in person I'm really happy with this color! I actually like it a lot more than the taupe now because it's a nice rich brown color. Excited for it to get dryer outside so I can wear these out!Shipping was so quick. I received the package earlier than expected and only waited a day to get them vs the 3 day delivery estimate they gave me. Thanks REI!

Shoes are shoes; people make the difference, and the people at REI are just the best. I was moving my daughter into her dorm to start college, and she wanted a pair of mocha suede Bostons. Sold out everywhere. Except maybe REI, we discovered while looking online. So we hurried to the Pearl District store, had a look around, and met Will, who had been on the job for exactly four days. He helped her find exactly the right size (even though it’s a classic Birk footbed, the Bostons fit is a little different from the sandals, which she’s worn for years). Computer said there was a pair in mocha suede, in the correct size, in the store, but after a long search Will couldn’t find them. These clogs are so comfortable! It took a couple tries to get my hands on the taupe color, but now that I have them, I don’t want to take them off. I bought the black but returned them because they did rub off the black color on my feet a bit.Like other reviewers said, these bring me back to my college days when I wore my Birkenstock Boston’s so much that I eventually had to throw them out.I typically wear a 8 1/2 in flats or a 9 in boots, but the 39 worked out for me. The 40 was too big. Also, they stretch a little, so if they’re tight at first, wear them around the house and they’ll conform to your feet.If you see these comfy clogs in your size on the Nordy website, snap them up! Shoes look & fits exactly as described. Love the color and fit. Stylish shoe that will never go out of style. I’m a true 9.5- 10 and a 41 fits perfectly. My only issue is with Nordstrom mailing shoes in bag. I received the box in a plastic bag which completely damaged the box. Shoes at this price should be shipped in a box. I usually store my shoes in their original box, unfortunately this won’t be the case.
Birkenstock Bostons run in NARROW and REGULAR (aka Wide). If you are like me and interpret "regular" as the default size you are mistaken. Dillards only carries the NARROW version but does not clearly state that in the sizing. A quick CTRL+F will show that "narrow" is one of the last words in the lengthy description. This is not a Birkenstock issue, rather a Dillard's issue. @Dillards clarify NARROW VS. REGULAR IN YOUR LISTING WITH THE SIZING like all the other websites that carry this shoe.I have normal sized feet and the narrow is extremely narrow and cuts into the sides of my feet. I also typically size down in the sandal (I get a 6 in the sandal, and I'm typically a 7) but would recommend getting your true size in the clog.
My ache runners feet need these shoes but not in suede. I love the look of the taupe suede, however the suede is very soft and floppy. The clogs collapse when your foot is not inside. Not quite as slip-in friendly as I hoped. More importantly, I fear the soft suede will stretch beyond wear and light color will quickly look grungy. I do not intend to buy a new pair every year. I want a pair that will last. For context, I ordered a 36 narrow, the smallest size available. According to Birkenstocks’s fit calculator. measuring my feet in mm, I should have ordered a 37 regular/wide size. However, I’ve been wearing 36 Arizonas for years on my 6-6.5 US size feet. The suede Boston 36 Narrow fit perfect in length BUT they were slightly too wide for my very average feet. I ... MoreMy ache runners feet need these shoes but not in suede. The suede Boston 36 Narrow fit perfect in length BUT they were slightly too wide for my very average feet. I adjusted the buckle to the tightest hole to get a snug, perfect fit. No doubt the soft suede will stretch with wear making the shoes completely unwearable since the buckle has no more holes left. Point being, the size calculator is way off!Determined not to give up, I went to a local Birk store that had the Boston in oil leather (iron grey) for woman in a 36 narrow that addressed many of the issues I had with the suede. The leather is far more structured. It isn’t floppy, it stays open and is truly slip in and out ready. The fit seems slightly tighter too and I can go down to the 2nd hole when wearing a thin sock. While the leather will eventually stretch too, I’m confident that it will take longer and be much less significant than the suede. I’d also bet money that the oil leather will look far better a year from now than the taupe suede. (Out of the box, the look of the suede wins but I’m interested in longevity.)Both materials have the amazing Birkenstock footbed that are truly heaven on my sore, almost flat, aging feet. The soft footbed is comfortable out of the box but I’ll probably seek the original footbed for my next pair as I think the original will be better over time as well.I would love to see Nordstrom get more leather options for women in the future as I’m already wanting more colors. Sorry I have to return the suede.
I actually bought these in a size 6 and 7 in Taupe to see which ones fit better. For Birkenstocks you do not want them to be loose, they have to fit your foot exactly or else the shoes will slide and take longer to wear them in. In those style, the 6 was a better fit. The are very comfortable, the cork is softer on these than original Birkenstocks. Even though the shoes says narrow, I did not find them to be narrow (I do not have narrow feet). These fit M/W (there was actually some gaps on the sides when I wear them, not tight). I wear them for hours without any arches or rubbing. I know the trend is taupe, but get them in any colors, these are comfort shoes. I have worn Birkenstocks for over 25 years, and have 6 pairs at any given time
These for my foot like a glove!I have about 7 pair of Birks but my other bostons are not soft footbed - I’d advise anyone new to this brand to start w a soft footbed & if your female get narrow !I have some gorgeous green ones but can’t wear much because they fall off my feet ( med size not narrow ) these feel like there is no “break in “timeI will wear these everywhere !For ref I wear a size 9.5 or 10 in hokas - I’m a 60 year old woman who’s worn these for 40 years! ( off & on )The newest soft bed is a major deal changer ! I prefer it so much bc the old hard ones you have to break in !
