Recently bought this as a birthday gift for myself, I felt I deserved something nice, and I've always wanted to try YSL fragrances, so I bought two of their Black Opium scents, and I'm obsessed. I bought the biggest sizes that Sephora had in stock for each of the scents, and I'm so glad that I did. They're not cheap, but they are so very much worth their expensive price tag, if you have the money to spend, especially for this one. Interesting scent but a little cloying. The absinthe and licorice are very strong, the dry down is much nicer, coffee and vanilla shine through nicely. Definitely not something I can wear everyday, and not the scent for someone who’d prefer lighter, fresher scents. Would be great for a night out!

This is just maybe a note of two different from the original Black Opium, having the difference be the absinthe and a top fruity, brighter note, but it dries down to nearly identically the same scent. I have each scent on right now, testing on on each arm and wrist and I have a very difficult time choosing my favorite of the two. Intense has basically the same base notes, maybe a bit richer, but the absinthe and fruity top note definitely gives it the right to its own namesake.I guess I don't have a preference since they are so similar. The staying power is for sure intense, it's there in the morning after, which is a bonus. Can feel them in the room as well, but not as for long or too strong. BOI stays on skin for hours on end (well moisturized skin makes perfume last longer for sure!!). All day on me. I shower apply moisturizer and scent on while skin is damp from the cream/butter.Beautiful bottle: dark space with stars speckled and in the middle , black hole....then you spritz the "juice" and get sucked in....

I was hoping to find something similar to that because that was my go to scent for years (and a few other VS scents they stopped making)... I FINALLY ventured out to My Perfume Shop and literally smelled every single perfume before making my decision, but this one was the first one to catch my eye, the first one I smelled, I loved it but had to make sure it was "the one" by smelling every other perfume there. PLEASE KEEP THIS FOREVER! <3 The scent sticks around for a long time, if it gets on clothes or bedding, you will still be able to smell it for days. Definitely a keeper. I also do want to try new scents because I am super picky so I need to go in store and be able to smell and pick because not everything you "like" actually smells good together or you find something "new" that you like that is unexpected!!

I keep hearing how nice black opium smells and decided to try it. I sprayed the original first and was absolutely blown away. Then I tried the intense version and was even more blown away. Both the original and the intense may just be the best scents I have ever smelled. I took me almost an hour to decide which one to buy because they both smell AMAZING. I decided on the intense but think I'm going to go back today for the original. The intense is just so sexy and intoxicating. Sweet but not too sweet. Has some slight floral notes and vanilla . I placed the order and waited anxiously to get it. it arrived today and as soon as I sprayed it, I fell in love again!!! this is SO good. if I were to try and describe it, I would say a warm fragrance with an addictiveness to it as I cant stop sniffing my wrist! if you like black opium, I would say you will like this as well. I feel black opium is a bit sweeter in scent than the intense. But I now own the intense and black opium and feel they are different enough and I am so excited to wear it!!!
