I like these shoes, but they do have a flaw. This is a walking shoe. All of my running/workout shoes are Brooks because they fit my foot. About to travel out of the country and wanting to take only the shoes I would wear, I looked for the right shoe starting with the Brooks website. I found these ‘walking’ shoes, which are really a running shoe with a leather front upper and all black rather than the bright colors on ‘running’ shoes. They also have a wear layer on the sole that is designed for walking rather than running. This is all good stuff. I wore the shoes for two weeks traveling on the other side of the ocean. We did a lot of walking and climbing stairs averaging about 15000 steps a day including days when we were on airplanes and trains. These may now be my ... MoreI like these shoes, but they do have a flaw. This is a walking shoe. It is actually lacking in support. I fixed the problem by taking some insoles out of an old pair of Keens and had the support I was used to. The insoles that come with these Brooks are too flat.

These walkers are great. Comfort, functionality, style, durability and test of time make these my everyday shoe. Whether going to work, weekend casual living, travelling and touring overseas..they have never let me down. I am in the medical profession so outcomes are really important. Whether I use the black or white ones they are very smart looking. They are competitively priced with the competition. I have tried "others" but they just lack that Brooks magic that want me to change. They are "made for me" and my lifestyle.

Shipping box arrived promptly. Opened it with great anticipation. Put on the shoes and could just barely get them on my feet. Double-checked the size. 15 wide, my standard size but they felt like 11 narrow. Sat at my computer with them on to get used to them before taking a walk. Took them off when I started losing sensation in the left leg. Thought about ordering 15 double-wide but doubted those would fit either. Shoes are obviously well made but seem designed for narrow adolescent feet not my old guy's flat, long, wide feet. A true disappointment.

Not a looker, but has a great personality.I didn’t know they made shoes for flat footed people. Let alone flat footed and wide foot. Shoes are life changing.I hate cardio and running. It kills my feet but I force myself to do it. As soon as I put them on I felt support in my feet where my feet were sore form the day before.Life changing. When I took them off after a few miles back at home it wasn’t until I stepped out of them and onto the tile that I remembered my feet hurt. I’ve started walking and doing lite jogging with them while wearing a 50 lb vest on the sidewalk in my neighborhood. Just great.I went to wear my normal flat No support casual shoes that I usually wear and quickly my feet started hurting.I realized I walk without bending my foot. Just great.I went to wear my normal flat No support casual shoes that I usually wear and quickly my feet started hurting.I realized I walk without bending my foot. I just lift and move. Apparently this shoe gave me support to force me to walk correctly without realizing it. But doing it in my normal flat No support shoes was pain.10/10 will buy again. I’ve had them 3-5 weeks (holidays are growing me off) I’ve walked everyday except 4 days with these in that time. Legit my lower back pain has been gone for almost 2weeks now. Same bed I’m thinking it’s these shoes. Buy.I hope they come out with new designs soon because it’s ready for cardio but looks wise you know it’s got the best personality ever.
I'm on I'm guessing roughly my 15th pair of these shoes at this point going back to the original addiction walkers. I'm a mail carrier for USPS so I log tons and tons of miles. I work 6 days a week and walk roughly 15 miles a day. A pair of these shoes will last me for roughly 4-5 months which is crazy for the miles I put on them. I personally think they're ugly as sin, but they last through the daily torture I put them through and are the only shoes that keep my feet pain free! Once I start to feel a little pain I know it's time to finally swap to the next pair. I swear by these shoes and always recommend them to others. My only negative is I wish they would occasionally go on sale.
I'm not a runner. I'm an 85-year-old guy with disabilities, who needs comfortable, supportive shoes to walk around in. Years ago, I bought Brook's shoes both for walking and to wear when I worked out at the gym. I still have two pairs of my very old Brooks shoes, but one has soles that've become so hard that the shoes are unsafe to wear. The Addiction Walkers that I bought recently are their replacement. The high quality, comfort, and support that were characteristic of my old Brooks shoes, when new, are more than duplicated in my new Addiction Walkers. I'm very satisfied with my new shoes from Brooks.
I've had two versions of this walking shoe. The earlier version was better for the following reasons;1) I feel that the soles aren't quite as firm as before, on hard surfaces although I"m not 100% sure of that because I didn't compare them "head to head". Still the shoes are really pretty supportive esp. if you use a favored insole like I do.2) for sure, the "nonslip sole" is a bad design because it picks up small pebbles that cannot be easily dislodged.3) the shoe laces are too long, presenting a hazard of someone tripping over them.
The best shoes ever! I have been wearing Brooks Addiction Walkers EXCLUSIVELY for over 10 years. One-of-four shoe brands recommended (w/PowerStep Met insole for correction) by my podiatrist for plantar fasciitis. I bought a pair, added insoles and for the first time in years my feet were 'happy" within 30 minutes of putting them on!. I walk 3 miles first thing every morning. This would be impossible for me with any other shoe (I've tried many other top brands). So now I own 8 pr (4 white, 2 black, 2 brown suede) all in a daily rotation for various levels of wear and function. 2 pair for walking, then after walk, 2 pairs of each for casual dress & 2 pair of "retired" whites for rough work, gardening etc.. Brooks Addiction Walker 2 are just too good to take off! Now, ... MoreThe best shoes ever! I have been wearing Brooks Addiction Walkers EXCLUSIVELY for over 10 years. I would give these sneakers a 5 star rating but they don't last long enough to deserve one. The toe protector part of the shoe always starts to separate around a month into regular use of these shoes. This happens to every pair that I've bought in the past few years and I buy about 4 pairs a year. I do not drag my feet or scrape the toe protector. I am an Army veteran and I walk properly. The pair that I bought around a month ago is already starting to show that it's happening again. I walk around 7 miles per day. The glue that is used in these shoes needs to be improved.
As an elder fellow with balance problems, I am no longer any kind of runner, so I walk for exercise. This is my second pair of the Walker 2 Black. Same size as the old pair, but the cushioning seems to be a bit thicker, making them a bit harder to put on, but comfortable. Lace holes are tighter than the old ones, a bit more of a nuisance lacing up, and possibly causing the laces to wear out sooner. Traction is good, like the old ones; but also like the old ones, grains of sand/dirt become trapped in the tread-slots, which is a small nuisance picking those grains out later. Tread wear has been good. Key point is that the fit/support and cushioning are good for walking.
