Great boot. Stays tight and has great traction for those long uphill walks. Boot is probably just past a medium stiffness. In terms of fit, if you have never had a Burton boot then try any type on, they tend to fit tight, if between sizes go up. I typically wear a 9.5 or 10 shoe and a 10 photon fits great. I have only worn it a few times so no idea on durability yet but seems like it will last.

Convenient and good performance

The step-on photons are of nice balance of performance and comfort. The step-on, although may require some getting used to, are sooo much easier to use than traditional binding.

Heel lock was never better

I am 165 tall and I bought this product in size 9 .Tested this boots on the indoor slopes in the Netherlands.I was always a big fan of Burton boots fit generally all of the models work really well on my feet shape but that exact one is better than ever. Impressive

The step on system is a game changer especially off the lift and straight onto the run. Same Burton fit as other models but constructed stiffer meaning quick response on turns. Build quality is excellent. Very happy purchase.

My allrounder boot for the entire mountain

I chose the product because I was looking for a versatile boot for allmountain riding and also splitboarding. I mostly ride freeride and piste, but sometimes park as well. So my boot needed to be stiff, but not too much. I was also looking for a boot with boa lacing, so I can adjust them on-the-go. I tried on size 45 and size 44.5 EU, and found out that they fit perfectly in the 44.5 size, which is my normal shoe size. A good Vibram sole is also important to me to give me grip when hiking in the mountains.I tested the boots for a couple of weeks, I rode on slopes, in the backcountry and went splitboarding with them. They also held up wonderful while splitboarding, I like the fact that they are a bit reinforced on the sides to prevent boot damage and you can quickly switch between walking and riding due to the boa lacing. Another feature I like is the side boa, which really pulls your heel into the boot when needed, for example on aggresive fast runs down the hill. The Vibram sole helps you get grip on icy surfaces, it helped us push our car out of the snow for example. I have not yet found any problems with the boot.To sum it up, this is a boot you can wear for every day on the mountain, you cant go wrong with it. I would recommend it for riders, who are searching for an allmountain boot, it is a bit on the stiff side so only park riders would need to go for a softer boot.

My first snowboard boots

Very comfortable, very warm, too bad the lower BOA doesn't really do much, it would be great if the lower one would tighten the lower part of the boot. As it is right now the tightening is done exclusively with the upper BOA, the lower one is just for show.

Perfect Boot

So far the best Snowboard Boot I had. The Step On combined with the double BOA system is perfect.

This setup changed my snowboarding experience

For the 1st time I tried the Burton step on boots and bindings on the slope. It was just perfect. Extremely fast and easy stepping in and out. Very responsive combination, better than any bindings with straps I had tried. The boots get locked in the binding very perfectly, as if they are just one unit. And to the Photon boots, they are very stiff but also comfortable. The foam inside shapes to your feet. After about one hour, they feel comfprtable but also holding so tightly that there is no room for your ankle to move loosely.I could really not expect better!

Used with slight damage

These boots have definitely been used before. There are quite a few small wear and damage marks all around each boot.
