I have been using a refresh for years. I just bought3 huge bags for an enclosure deep clean. Cleaned the whole 70 gallons tank first bag seemed fine but more dust than I have ever had with it. When I added the whole second bag I was covered in dust and inhaled so much of it I was coughing and sneezing and can still taste the dust hours after even after brushing my teeth. I quickly made an emergency enclosure with a plastic tub and a small bag of kaytee bedding that I was saving to add contrasting color on top. I have a little dwarf hamster and if I hadn’t had that extra bedding I would have spent hours using tissue, toilet paper (in a pandemic with shortages becoming more common), and paper towels than risk giving him respiratory issues that would kill him. I run an exotic companion animal rescue in NJ, USA and constantly have a supply of carefresh bedding material available. It is the best bedding material on the market for a number of different species. I use it for rats, hamsters, guinea pigs and rabbits. It is easy to clean up and lasts at least a week depending on the species. I am overall a huge supporter of this product and recommend it to all of my adopters!

This is a good cage to be used for short periods outdoor in order for your reptile to have exposure to sunlight. It also affords a sturdy screen for a small reptiles to climb and bask. This is not a permanent dwelling. It should only be used for short periods outdoors or it could be used indoors. But it's not a permanent habitat and it's not designed for that reason. The one problem with this cage is the floor which is painted black and can become very hot in sunlight. I don't understand why they would make a decent product and not have considered that. The floor should be white or some other light color that will not become so hot in bright sunlight. I put down white paper towels on the floor and other alternatives would include some form of bedding. Our cat is a senior female who does not like to step on the pellets or any other hard or rough/scratchy cat litter. The soft paper Carefresh Small Pet Bedding is easy to step on and lasts a long time because the pellets below absorb most of the liquid. The pellets also absorb any litter box smells better than other litters we have tried. (We avoid litters with fragrances added.) Any soiled paper is easy to scoop up with the pellets. The clean paper layer is easy to push aside and re-distribute after scooping out wet pellets. One bag of paper lasts many weeks this way and there are 2 litter boxes in the house. I have 4 bunnies and have tried several other brands and types of bedding products. But nothing works like Carefresh. I can go a couple of days without changing their litterboxes and they still don't smell bad. And my bunnies' bottoms stay fresh and clean. And that is important for their health especially since they are all senior bunnies now. I would recommend Carefresh to anyone with bunnies or any small pets. It may be a little pricier than the rest but it works perfect and THAT'S what counts.
This bedding is so soft, my rabbit adores it and it motivates him to use his litter box because it feels so nice on his skin. It’s virtually no dust which is a huge plus for us because we have some humans with allergies in the household. I am excited to try the other colours that are available, but I will always make sure to have the white bedding on hand so I can easily track any changes in the colour of my bunny’s urine. I can see myself mixing a small amount of the coloured bedding into the white so that I can continue to monitor the colour of his urine. Overall I am a very happy customer and will continue to repurchase. Only the best for my bunny, and this is it!

I tend to keep quite a few rodents in the same cage so I’m cleaning it about once a week, but this does an excellent job with odor control and absorbing all of their various messes. I had one instance where one of my mice chewed a hole in their plastic water bottle. It leaked all over the cage. The bedding absorbed all of it and the bottom of the cage wasn’t even wet. I cannot recommend this product enough or give it enough praise! It really is low dust. I tried a different brand that was cheaper at one point and it had a lot of dust and my rats and I were all coughing and sneezing. That’s why I’ve been using this bedding. There have been no irritations with any of my animals and they actually like to pile it up and sleep on it or under it. This product gets anA++++++++++++++++
