I got my first Guinea Pig when I was eight. I am now retired and still have one. Not the same one ! LOL Back then, the bedding was made from cedar shavings. What a difference Carefresh makes. Better for my pet's health and much nicer for me to use. No dust, easy to clean up and so absorbent. Also to pick up pieces outside her 'house'-after her 'Popcorn' dances. I especially like the fact that it is made from paper. And comes in such 'fun' colors. I wouldn't consider using any other product.Thank you, Carefresh

This is a good cage to be used for short periods outdoor in order for your reptile to have exposure to sunlight. It also affords a sturdy screen for a small reptiles to climb and bask. This is not a permanent dwelling. It should only be used for short periods outdoors or it could be used indoors. But it's not a permanent habitat and it's not designed for that reason. The one problem with this cage is the floor which is painted black and can become very hot in sunlight. I don't understand why they would make a decent product and not have considered that. The floor should be white or some other light color that will not become so hot in bright sunlight. I put down white paper towels on the floor and other alternatives would include some form of bedding. I have been using it ever since I’ve gotten my very first guinea pig, which was back in about 2012 is when I got my first one and truthfully this is what I used and I still use it to this day I tried one time, another bedding, and it did not live up to this, so I instantly went right back, I cannot talk enough about this product. I have been using carefresh bedding for about 2 years now and ever since my first use it has been my go to. I have 4 rats in one cage and had been looking for the beat bedding that has good odor control and can absorb a lot. At first I used Oxbow bedding and while it got the job done I had to use over half a bag of bedding for one change. It wasn’t cost effective either with each bag costing around $20. I knew at that point I needed a new type of bedding and that’s when I landed on carefresh. Carefresh allows me to really use the less is more sort of approach. Each time only uses 1/4 to half of the bedding instead of 3/4 - a full bag with oxbow. I really recommend using carefresh bedding for any small animal that you may have.
I have 4 bunnies and have tried several other brands and types of bedding products. But nothing works like Carefresh. I can go a couple of days without changing their litterboxes and they still don't smell bad. And my bunnies' bottoms stay fresh and clean. And that is important for their health especially since they are all senior bunnies now. I would recommend Carefresh to anyone with bunnies or any small pets. It may be a little pricier than the rest but it works perfect and THAT'S what counts.
This bedding is so soft, my rabbit adores it and it motivates him to use his litter box because it feels so nice on his skin. It’s virtually no dust which is a huge plus for us because we have some humans with allergies in the household. I am excited to try the other colours that are available, but I will always make sure to have the white bedding on hand so I can easily track any changes in the colour of my bunny’s urine. I can see myself mixing a small amount of the coloured bedding into the white so that I can continue to monitor the colour of his urine. Overall I am a very happy customer and will continue to repurchase. Only the best for my bunny, and this is it!
I have always used Carefresh bedding for all my small animals (hamsters, gerbils, and Guinea pigs). I saw that this bedding had a deal buy two get one free and it was the brand I always got so I bought it. However, I’m really disappointed in my purchase. I liked Carefresh because it was colorful and amazing at controlling odor but within a day the cage started to stink. My cage is a 40 gallon long tank and I have a single hamster in it so it shouldn't already smell bad. I used to change my Carefresh bedding every 20 or so days because that it when it started to smell but this bedding didn't last more than a day. The bedding also isn't as soft as it used to be. All three bags were like this so I think the Carefresh company just isn't the same quality as it was before.

i run an animal rescue and we go through so many bags of carefresh bedding for our small animal section. All the animals seem very happy when we use carefresh vs other brands. There is low dust when using this bedding, and the odor absorption is top notch. Having a clean and fresh smelling rescue is very important to our animals and any potential adopters. We will only use carefresh now, after trying so many other brands and bedding types.
