I really like the more coarse granules of salt in the bag of Makai. I have been disappointed with the salt produced by this grinder--it is extremely fine & you cannot really appreciate the wonderful taste of the Makai salt. The Makai is intended to be a finishing salt, so grinding it this finely is not a benefit. I'll buy the bag of granules again, but definitely not this grinder. I don't even think the grinder will be useful for a refill. Who needs salt that fine? I feel sorry I recommended & bought this expensive grinder for a friend. I got a great grinder with Pink Himalayan Salt in it for under $2 at Trader Joe's, and gave my friend one as a consolation gift.

This is one of the best unrefined sea salts in my opinion, which is based on the teachings of Drs. Robert Thompson MD, David Brownstein, and James DiNicolantino. It comes from the deep seas and thus is said to be as pure as it gets. I love the lightly sweet flavor, and I love that it contains all the natural minerals needed by our bodies. I use a salt grinder by the same company which works perfectly. I add it a couple times/day to my drinking water, especially during/after working out to replenish the minerals. I also use it to enhance the flavor of my filter coffee and to sprinkle over my food, such as eggs.

After reading the reviews about this salt and reading about how it is made I decided to try some as soon as it was available. Wow, I’m glad I tried it out! I couldn’t find a Makai salt grinder that was available so I’ve been crushing the salt crystals on a plate with the back of a large spoon and it works just fine. I’ve used it to flavor meats and soups and added some to water along with fresh squeezed lemon. I’m impressed by the purity of this salt as well, as I’ve been reading about how many salts are now contaminated with microplastics. I crushed some of this salt to sprinkle on top of dark chocolate chip cookies before baking and they turned about amazing! Will definitely be a new kitchen staple!
ordered this as heard all the benefits of celtic salt. always out of stock so I managed to grab it. Will add this to my diet now. small pinch for a serving, frequency maybe every day. pure ingredients as its only unrefined sea salt. 227g size is small, but ok for me. tastes like the sea.
