I was hoping to add this to my collection of lip oil/lip balm hybrids but this was a huge let down. I primarily bought this out of curiosity due to the top rated reviews it was boasting, but I was sadly mistaken.I've been religiously using this lip balm weeks after purchase and came to the conclusion that this lip product is literally nothing more but vegetable oil on my lips. The scent of vegetable oil is so strong I couldn't help but pat it down dry in between drinking and eating and reapplying after, just for the taste of vegetable oil making me gag again. The description does say it moisturizes which it does, but personally, it feels too oily and slippy for my liking and doesn't even necessarily moisturize, but rather just sits on the lips. If at first you don't succeed, try, try again...the Lip Oil Balm Hydrating Peptide Balm is what I expect when I order a lipstick from Clarins. It contains Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1, which stands out for directly influencing skin plumpness through collagen stimulation. Other ingredients like castor oil, shea butter, rosehip oil, and jojoba oil also significantly contribute by improving hydration. It feels great on but I'll have to order a lighter color next time. I ordered 03 Lychee and also apply Joli Brilliant #29 Tea Rose (no longer available) to lighten the color. Unfortunately, I posted a positive review of the Joli Rouge Satin and Shine lipsticks (refills) but they just didn't feel slick on like the old Joli or this new peptide balm (hate to say it, my lips ... They contain shea butter and sunflower oil, which are also hydrating but don't match the combined hydrating power of ingredients in the Lip Oil Hydrating Peptide Balm. (I should've waited longer to review the Joli Rouge refills). Peptide Balm is a winner!

No flaking, no roughness, which makes this formula perfect for hydrating the lips before applying a matte liquid lip, for example, or even as a dewy topper to finish off a look. The next colour in the trio, 'Pitaya', is such a universally flattering pink with somewhat of a Barbie vibe, only with more depth that offers a wonderful flush of colour - rosy and summery - in a way that blends so well with a softly feminine look. The final shade, 'Fig', is deeper and more muted, and particularly flattering against my neutral-cool Soft Summer palette. It's a rich, purple-leaning berry shade that alludes to having had a picnic out in the sun with the telltale stained lips of having enjoyed some juicy blackberries.Overall, this product is a wonderful offering from Clarins that comes in strong with a fruity scent and classically beautiful colours, but more importantly, blurs the line between cosmetics and skincare to create a formula that plays into the aesthetic trends of today while working to keep you looking, and feeling, like your best self. I look forward to getting the most out of the lovely samples provided.

I got a small sample trio of this product and it is wonderful! It has that light and nourished feel of a lip balm without leaving a sticky or greasy feeling on your lips. As I have a deeper skin tone, I was a bit worried that the pale pink balm would show up on my lips and look bad unflattering against my skin tone. But it just looks like a clear balm on my lips, which makes it quite versatile in my eyes. The other shades pitaya and fig are also great, they leave a soft tint and would be ideal if you didn't want to apply a heavier lip product and still have a lovely touch of colour that was complimentary even if you have two toned lips like myself. It does have a slight, very soft sweetish fragrance to it but it's not overpowering at all. Overall would recommend ... MoreI got a small sample trio of this product and it is wonderful! I am so happy I could try the new Clarins Lip Oil Balm! First, the texture is very comfortable and glides on nicely. It doesn't feel heavy or sticky at all, but leaves the lips well hydrated and nourished. I like that the formula contains caring ingredients, like hazelnut oil, organic jojoba oil and sweetbriar rose oil. Lips look more beautiful over time. And the colours are really flattering, I especially love the Pitaya and Fig shades. Pitaya is a bright punk that gives a fresh pop of colour. Fig is a slightly dark nude shade, easy to wear with or without makeup. I love the Lip Oil Balm and now I want to try all the 6 shades!! I definitely recommend this lip balm.
I got a sample of pale pink, pitaya and fig. The texture is nice, it has a decent slip to it, but at the same time isn't too oily/slippery on the lips which is great, because that's one of the things that makes lip oils unbearable to me. It wears comfortably. My lips are kept very soft and moisturized, and the lipstick adds shine - gives a natural plump lip.Smell is good, you can smell it off the lips which I like, the only thing, I'm not a fan of candy/edible smells on my lip products, and this lip balm has exactly one of those smells...It has a very very sheer tint to it, it's more for everyday, on the go type of look, nothing dramatic. It only adds a hint of color, but the colors are in the natural range which gives you a healthy glow. I was actually ... MoreI got a sample of pale pink, pitaya and fig. It only adds a hint of color, but the colors are in the natural range which gives you a healthy glow. I was actually surprised that pitaya showed up on my lips because usually sheer colors like that never do (^-^). However, if the formula ever allows it, I'd love for it to be just a touch more tinted. Pale pink didn't show up on my lips, as expected, and fig looks like the "your lips but better" type of color - it's not very obvious, which is nice for everyday as mentioned above. It doesn't settle into cracks and the pigment distributes evenly on lips, but I tend to rub my lips together quite often, so this may contribute to that. There's no obvious taste to it, which is also nice.Another point regarding color - I was sent samples in pots, which doesn't really let me see how well the tint transfers to the lips from applying it directly from the tube, I assume it's going to be even more sheer, hence why it would be better if it was more pigmented, I think.Over all, I've used tinted lip balms very similar to this for less money, so I guess it's for the days you wanna spoil yourself.
I have been using the Clarins Lip Comfort Oil for years so I was really excited to see this new addition to their lipcare line. I’ve been using Pale Pink and it is everything I was hoping it would be. The texture is smooth and not tacky at all. It glides on and immediately my lips look and feel moisturized. It takes lip balm to the next level. It really feels like an oil in solid form. It softens really nicely on application and the slight hint of color is super natural and just what I was looking for. It’s long lasting and even after it feels like it has worn off, my lips remain soft. I like how it layers, so I can just add a bit or get more shine if I prefer, and the light scent is delicious. Clarins always has lovely scents.
I was kindly sent a blister pack of 3 shades to try in exchange for an honest review. This balm has a beautiful texture – really smooth and the medium pigmentation is perfect. As the balm fades the deeper shades leave behind a lovely stain. The scent (which is a sort of tutti-fruity fragrance, matching the lip oils) is reasonably strong but fades after about 15 mins. The lips feel nicely cushioned and nourished – and the finish is lovely, not too shiny.Pros- lovely, wearable shades that will suit lots of skin tones- beautiful, cushiony feel and not slippy – stays within the lip linesCons- some won't like that they're scented- not suitable for those with a nut allergy (contain hazelnut oil)
Okay so I do love this, it's a great lip oil balm for daily use. It is so emollient, it is plant based, with nourishing oils as sweetbriar rose, hazelnut, and jojoba. When applying you might get a bit of lip balm smeared on the side of the tube. It instantly moisturizes my lips and feels silky smooth on my lips. It's super light feeling, not thick or sticky. It gives the lips a nice shine, not super shiny but enough for me. I am rating this based on their claims. I personally don't think the balm itself lasts on the lips long enough without needing re-applying. They claim 24hr hydration, but I do feel the balm dries down, lips feel dry and I have to re-apply within a couple hours. This also claims to plump the lips, umm really!? No plumping happened on these lips, no tingling of any kind. The shade is right on, I got a pale pink, and it is a pale pink tone on me. Not pigmented more of a sheer tint, so I wish I had grabbed a darker shade. The packaging is so pretty and love the look of it.Do I like this as an everyday lip oil balm and have I been using it for the past several days? Yes, I have!! I like the instant feel it gives my lips, and I do keep it in my purse for re-application. Will I continue using it, yes. Am I disappointed with parts of it, yes. I definitely wanted plumped lips haha, and for the hydration to last much longer.I recommend it still because it's a great everyday lip oil balm, but not a plumping one.
An incredibly pleasant for use balm that takes care of your lips. For me, this balm is both a care product and a full-fledged part of my everyday makeup. The balm is easy to apply, doesn't leave a sticky feeling, and leaves a pleasant light tint. The balm has a light berry scent and moisturizes perfectly from the !first! time. Even after it has been completely washed off, the lips are soft and well-groomed.The balm line has trendy shades that will suit many people and can be used for both evening and daytime makeup if you don't like dense textures. I loved the pink shades. This is perfect for summer weather. The only downside for me is the taste of cosmetics. But for some, the light sweetness of the balm will be an additional plus.
