Premium mobility for design lovers. The perfect balance between easy rolling and puncture protection in this special tire for the urban jungle. Faster? No problem with the approval for e-bikes up to 50 km/h. On the basis of the activated silica compound, the company worked single-mindedly towards a compound technology in the performance segment. After intensive development efforts, the result of the Korbach research and development department produced a new compound technology with excellent grip and long-travel properties. The rubber compound with the self-explanatory name "PureGrip" ranks behind the BlackChili compound and is used in performance products in the race and mountain bike segments. Here it ensures long-lasting traction and high mileage of Continental tires, which are exclusively manufactured in the production facility in Hefei (Asia). The SafetyPro Breaker is developed from nylon fabric. Woven textile fibers that are both strong and flexible. Maximum puncture protection with minimum additional weight. The risks of punctures caused by glass or sharp stones are greatly reduced.

Bought the 42mm wide. After 200km, this is my conclusion:Recommended use: only tarmac/urban/tour/commute/fitness.Recommended size: don’t go slimmer than 40mmThe best tire I ever used was the Schwalbe Supremes with OneStar compound, discontinued now. In comparison to the Supremes, the Contis are inferior. Just a little bit more rolling resistance, lower grip on dry roads (conclusively same on wet), less comfort, lower confidence while cornering. The Supremes would just stick on the road and nothing seemed to budge them. Puncture resistance seems very good. They have a design problem: small gravels get stuck in the center lines and in some of the holes at the side. Not a major issue, but probably will cause them to wear quicker. Also, their grip at the edge of the road -where many times you can find gravel and sand – is mediocre.Continental should get rid of the center lines as they have no purpose and reduce the side holes to a minimum in order to increase grip while cornering. I would definitely try the Grand Prix Urban if it was available at 40mm or 42mm.That said, I doubt there is a better alternative to the Supremes at this price (~23euros).During installation, I noticed that the compound is harder than Supremes’. Also, after inflation I dropped the wheel in order to ensure the tire was sited and I saw that the bounce was clearly bigger than Supremes’. Harder and bouncier tire means less comfort, less grip and more rolling resistance.

Put these Continental Contact Urban tyres on my Trek Marlin 7 today a tried out for 5 miles. They seem really good quality, time will tell. Compared to the Maxxis Ikons on road they are really fast and smooth going. I mainly ride on tarmac, a bit of uneven gravelly areas, so my mtb is mostly a road.Really easy to fit on my 29 wheels, all done within an hour. I had a bit of a problem seating them correctly but when inflated to 48 psi, rear and 45 psi front they just popped right into place perfectly after a few loud noises of the tyres seating properly.Rock hard at 48 psi so I may not go up to the 65 psi max.Delivery took a bit longer than expected, but worth the wait. They really seem to be top quality tyres, easy fitting the 28 x 2.2's to my 29 wheels.10/10. ... These tires roll a lot better than the schwalbe tires G-one. They are thinner 1.60 " versus 2.25". They handle a lot more air pressure 94 PSI. So they roll a lot faster, about 3 MPH faster. They a lot easier to install than the schwalbe tires. They are also quieter on the road. I would recommend these tires for ebikes that are used for commuting on city streets. They are not made for off road, they will not handle well on the gravel/dirt roads. Lastly, due to the higher air pressure you can fell the road a lot more, but for me I'll take that because they roll a lot faster and make riding the ebike a lot more fun.
