Continental Cross King Shieldwall MTB Tyre Fast, grippy and versatile, Continental’s Cross King Shieldwall MTB Tyre is available in a huge range of sizes so that there is an option to suit every bike and rider. Shieldwall provides the puncture protection, with the layer of finely woven cross fabric preventing any penetration without adding too much weight or detracting from the supple ride provided by the 3/180 tpi construction. Traction is good across a variety of surfaces and conditions, making this an excellent all-round option, and durability from the PureGrip Compound is also impressive. The tyre is tubeless-ready but can also be used with an inner tube if preferred and it has been rated as compatible with electric bikes.

I've literally mountain bike using these tires over the years all around th world on every type of terrain. I prefer the 2.3s because you can run lower tire pressure (better grip) for bigger volume tires without a rolling resistance penalty. The side knobs are great for bite in the corners as wellPros:- durable- tread pattern is fast rolling, but grippy in most conditions and terrain- competitive weight for racing or if you like a lighter wheel set-up- sidewalls are strong!Cons:- can be hard to install on certain rims

Bought the bicycle from Walmart but the rear tire didn’t hold up very well. Store doesn’t carry the same size tire in the store. Found a tire through Walmart online shopping to acquire as a replacement. Process was easy and I got the tire in 4 days. The replacement tire quality is 100% better than the original tire at time of purchase of the bicycle. I’m planning to acquire a replacement tire for the front as well . The price for the bicycle was cheap enough and I felt good about my purchase. However the support and replacement parts are not available in store. I’m “OLD SCHOOL”. If I can’t see it or examine it before I make a purchase, I’m always skeptical about what I buying. I’m glad to report that this product exceeded my expectations. I definitely would ... So, this is the first time I've dropped down from 27.5X2.8 to a 27.5X2.6 tire. I am very happy with the change. The 2.6's still feel like a Plus tire but are much quicker turn to turn. And in a funny way feel less bouncy than the 2.8 tires I've ridden. The Cross Kings have ridden well in our current fall conditions. They offer plenty of traction and braking while they handle the firm corners well. I'm waiting to see how they perform next year when the conditions dry out and turn sandy.

Love this tire! Stays hooked up in loose gravel, rolling resistance seems pretty good. I'm not sure if it is high in calories, but it is high in flavor, slightly gassy however, most bikers don't mind that.. The turbo boost offers good passing potential. Butt because of the flatulence drafting is not deemed favorable or desirable. Thus pushing the group to the highest pace achievements since nobody wants to be left behind. So get yours today and stay in front of the pack!
If you want a fast light inexpensive tubeless XC tyre this one can’t be beaten. The precious one they came on my back had a bad deformation so check it once properly mounted. Also take care in damp clay transitioning to road. Don’t corner hard!
I put a Cross King 2.3" on the front for my first ever XC race. The tire rolls very fast compared to the 2.8" enduro tire I had previously. The grip is surprisingly good for such a nicely rolling tire. The tire held up through the race very well, too. The race included a couple miles of black diamond trails and the tire performed admirably.Setting up tubeless took some effort, but I'm using non-tubeless ready rims. I think it was the fault of the rim, not the tire. I ended up using an insert to get a tight seal on the bead.I would highly recommend this tire for its combination of grip and speed. The value is very good, too.
Great price from Jenson USA led me to this tire. I wanted a folding tire for my 27.5" full suspension bike and this tread reminded me of one of my favorites, Panaracer Fire Pro. And sure enough, the tread is a great match. My first ride was in the fabled Rothrock State Forest in PA. Rocks, roots and more rocks. Conditions were very damp from heavy fog and the tire did great, it gripped the rocks quite well. And, well, wet roots are super slippery and the tire did really well. I've spun out way more with other tires. I felt in control in the little loose dirt there was.The tire was odly shaped. It didn't go on and run a perfect circle. Pushed and pulled it a bit, but I'm an XC mountain biker, I don't go that fast to worry about our of round tired. YMMV.Overall a ... MoreGreat price from Jenson USA led me to this tire. Smooth rolling on hard pack, a real blast of fun in the 2.3" ( 27.5") size. Tubeless setup was really easy, no special tools or pump. Beefier than my Norco Storm XXS stock rubber, so they do slightly reduce my already limited standover. Tires hook up and stays hooked? super climbing and cornering confidence booster. I'm hooked too! I found my new dirt favorite. Hope I can find these in the old 26" size for my other rig.
My previous tires were halfway worn. I changed tires to try a tubeless setup for the first time, and also to improve grip. I ride XC trails most of the time and never do jumps, downhill, or anything crazy. I do enjoy going from 15 to 30 miles distances with climb challenges. So these tires seem a good fit for what I do. I was able to install these tubeless in my cheap non-tubeless-ready rims by adding more layers of tape. These are my first tubeless tires, but I had installed tubeless tires before for other bikes. I could say these were the easiest to install so far. Still you will need a compressor, and also install them first with a tube for several hours to straighten the edges. These have more grip than the tires that came with my bike. With the stock tires I had a few close calls, that is why I wanted to improve grip. But, as expected, with the additional grip came more rolling resistance. So far I am very happy with these tires.
Nice tires but too wide for my Bike, an older FELT model. The front derailleur rubs the rear tire when I shift to the smallest chainring in the front. Do you have a similar tire in a 29 x 2.00? I ride rural roads, many of them turn to gravel and occasionally trails in Brown county state park in Nashville IN,
