I just got a pair of the Converse Chuck 70 in black and I absolutely love them. The quality is amazing! Love these shoes! Coning out of the pandemic I vowed to not wear heels. I ordered these to wear to a fundraiser dinner this past week and could not be happier with my selection! I took the advice and ordered a half size down and they fit perfectly. The color was spot on and matched the accent color in my jumpsuit. My feet were so comfortable all night! Will definitely buy more pairs!

When Converse came out with the Converse II - it was a nice but failed attempt at updating the standard All star sneaker.The Converse 70 fixed the problems with the Converse II - such as it didn't look like a Converse shoe and wore down with time. This shoe looks a lot like a standard Converse All star shoe. It is incredibly tough. The canvas takes a beating and still maintains it's shape giving you actual ankle support. The insert is fully replaceable and the canvas construction means it doesn't wear out much at all. Go with everything

These still fit great and I love the color. Only complaint is the tongue of the shoe moves all over. After every hour or so of wear the tongue is on my ankle, or even under my heal! I have to take the shoe off to reach and fix it. I have tightened the laces all the way up and down. I have no clue how this happened as the shoe fits as usual and I only wear them for everyday walking around and this does not happen to any of my many other converse shoes of the same style. Maybe a stitch broke?

Quality Control

Upon receiving the shoes, there were white stains on them. I was very surprised as they came straight from Converse and not the mall or store. I expected the quality control to be a whole lot better. There was an opportunity for embarrassment because the shoes were a gift to a good friend of mine. I offered to return them or exchange them, but my friend decided to keep them. The presentation didn’t represent excellence which is what I’m most bothered about. Other than that, my friend really likes the shoes.

These are the gold standard of the modern sneaker. When I learned they could be made in leather, I purchased these beauties. As a correctional officer working 12-hour shifts and walking an endless maze of concrete and steel grate, these shoes held up to over 200 hours of on-duty wear and abuse plus personal wear. I do not get into many use of force situations, but I would not want to kick someone wearing these shoes. The leather uppers took about 16 hours to break in for my feet and how tight I tie my footwear. The foam and rubber soles did not need any break-in time. I recommend saddle soaping these leather Chuck Taylor's after the breaking time and since my pair are all black I buffed in parade shine black boot polish. Love them! Never purchased from Tilly's or owned a pair ov these. Saw an influencer who described these shoes in this exact color. She also styled them with luxe and casual, classy outfits. She specifically mentioned the more narrow toe/shell top than newer Chucks, and the fact that these tend to have more cushion as well. I wear a women's 10, and have a pair of women's run star hikes in a 10. I wasn't sure if i needed an 8 in mens for a 10 for a womens in these, but something told me to try an 8.5 for a 10.5. I'm so glad I got that size as it really works great, especially if i need to add a pair of socks for fall wear. The price and the shipping were all very reasonable as well
