A Casual Shoe

I’ve always had a pair of Converse. High top, low top. Leather, canvas. Thought I’d give the platforms a try.And they’re ok.The thickness of the sole means there’s not much flexibility in the shoe for walking longer distances, or at speed. The quality of the laces is lacking. They’re not the wide, thick cotton laces in the usual converse shoes but a smaller thin cotton which don’t feel like they stay tight throughout the day.They’re an alright fashion shoe, and look good with a range of outfits. I just wouldn’t wear them if I knew I’d be walking long and far though.

Classic - but runs a big large

These shoes arrived even faster than promised (a real plus), but unfortunately they run a little large. I normally wear a 7.5-8 and ordered 7.5. I could have gotten away with a 7 but I don't want to go thru the hassle of exchanging, so I'll just up the sox. They're a little heavy (they ARE platforms) and a little stiff in the sole. I'm used to wearing Sketchers which have a lot of flexibility, but I'm needing a pair of shoes to support an arthritic toe joint, so a stiffer sole is perfect for me. If you like your shoes flexible, keep this in mind. Other than being a tiny bit large (which will be remedied with sox), they're great. And the service was awesome! I will definitely order again from Converse!

Comfy and cute just a little big

The shoe itself is super cute and definitely brings lift. HOWEVER, I am normally a size 6.5W in Converse (normally a 7 in all other shoes). I ordered a half size down so size 6W and it was BIG. It slipped off from the back of my heel so I did an exchange and got a 5.5W. Put them on and they STILL slip off the back of my heel.. I got tired of doing the most for these shoes so I just bought rubber heel stickers so it doesn’t slip off my heel and I tie them pretty tight. Perhaps these types of shoes run bigger than the high tops. I have 7 other pairs all high tops and all 6.5W. Still cute and would purchase another low top lift pair now that I am aware.

LOVED THESE CLASSIC SHOES BUT HUGE

I have not yet worn them. I live in Canada. I was visiting my daughter in NYC. I tried on a 7, regular fit with lift. I called converse to ask if the wide fit would change my size 7. I was told no. The wide fit is not sold in Canada. My neice brought them back to Canada for me after she visited her cousin. The size 7 wide was HUGE! Now I have to find some way to return them back to the US. They need to be returned. I might have to get the regular fit here in Canada. I was so looking forward to the wide fit. The shoes looked great and I was so looking forward to wearing them

Love them!!

My first pair of Converse platforms and I love them! I was a little concerned they'd feel heavy and I'd have to learn to walk around in them, but it wasn't the case at all! They are a tiny bit heavier than most all my other tennis shoes, but nothing major.. hardly noticeable.They're cute, cushiony, comfortable, and really do go with well with a variety of outfits. I liked them so much that I decided to get the high top version in white as well and am looking forward to getting them in other colors too!On me they were true to size and even though my feet are just a touch wide, I experienced no pinching or other issues.

Shrinkflation ruins reputations

Vans are no longer made from cotton. The polyester material doesn't breathe. The material gets thinner every year. Companies like doc martens keep the quality, but raise the price. I prefer this to an inferior product with the same price, but lower quality. Next year vans will sell laces and a sole only due to shrinkflation. Kinda sad. Loved my old vans pros. Went downhill from there imo. Has anyone ever won a $300 voucher for giving a true review? Doubt it.

Tall and squishy, but not water proof

Really comfy, very squishy. Literally felt like I was walking on moonboots the first couple of days took a bit to get used to. Kind of wish I got the high tops tho because it doesn't have an extra loop thing at the top to make a lace lock. Wish the tread was a bit more traditional criss cross but not complaining. Not water proof in the slightest should totally come with wax or something. Also the padding in the shoe is super thick and not able to be taken out so if you get trapped in a rain storm, we'll it's not a great experience and im afraid even with drying a couple of days the padding might still get moldy cause it's so thick and hard to dry. Aside from that really comfy and looks good, makes you a lil taller.

Timeless!

I have worn Chuck Taylor's since I was a kid. I love the platform style because it just simply pops and it's just as comfortable as all of my other Chuck Taylor's. I have at least 12 different Chuck's now in all different colors. My husband has several also and loves them as much as I do. What I really love is there is no age limit. They are timeless. What other shoe can say that? It's too bad Chuck Taylor died so young. Not only did he end up with two Basketball Hall of Fame inductions but a Sporting Goods Industry Hall of Fame induction as well. And it all started in 1922 with simply asking for a better shoe... and he became a household name! Now that's a legacy! I think he would be pretty proud.

great shoe - terrible laces!!!

Runs slightly large (I normally wear a 9, but ordered 8.5 and fit is perfect with socks on). Comfortable to wear for long periods of time and go with everything. BEWARE the laces though, the quality is absolutely awful. Very thin and snap/fray quickly. I had this shoe less than a week and the lace snapped when tying them up. It is odd as this is 2nd time I’ve ordered this shoe and don’t recall the quality being this bad - take note Converse! However, I went onto Amazon and ordered Converse White Shoe Laces 45 Inches and they are FAR superior. See photo: left shoe has the original laces (thin and cotton); right shoe has the new Converse lace ordered on Amazon (thicker and stretchy). You’ll thank me later! :)
