The Crankbrothers Stamp Lace Flat Shoe is a versatile option for both street and trail riding. The outsole is optimized for the Crankbrothers Stamp pedal body, but it works well with any flat pedal. The high-friction rubber compound provides optimal grip, and the lug depth absorbs the pins to ensure a secure pedal connection. The flat rubber compound (MC2) is designed for grip and durability. It has high-friction to stick to the pedal body and low rebound properties to dampen vibrations. The lugs are rounded to resist abrasion. The tread pattern is designed for traction off the bike. Directionally angled and spaced toe and heel lugs offer traction for hiking up or down steep terrain. The ramped toe provides walkability on steep terrain. The Crankbrothers Stamp Lace Flat Shoe is available in a black and gum color combination and comes in a size 11.

Tired some (size 46's = my normal) on in a shop a few months ago that were a little too small for my liking - but they didn't have any bigger.Super happy to see the 47 available here - and they are perfect. Very comfortable as well! The toggle lace tightens down snugly without having ,to really work it like on some other brands that have thicker laces. The velco strap also gives extra tightness and isnt just just show. The durability of the thin lace maybe a concern later but will worry about that then - if ever.Great service from BikeInn as well

It can be tough to find a good cycling shoe for commuting and general riding around town. Most clip-less shoes are designed with on-the-bike in mind, and are therefore often impractical for walking around in for any appreciable distance. Not these Crank Brothers Mallets!Off the bat, the shoes' styling is very subdued. They look much like a sleek pair of "normal" shoes, so they look great even when you aren't kitted-out. The same can be said for their fit and comfort. Other than the stiffer sole, these shoes almost feel I'm wearing my favorite pair of street shoes and walking in them has not been at all uncomfortable. The Toe box is adequately wide and roomy and I have not experienced any discomfort or "tightness" that some cycling shoes are prone to. The Build and material quality feels high, and I imagine these will hold up well for some time to come.Crank Brothers advertises these shoes as being specifically designed for interfacing with their pedals and the shoes came with a set of Crank Brothers cleats already installed. I ride primarily with candy pedals, so this was a great bonus for me! Right out of the box I was able to clip-in with ease and without any clearance issues between the tread and Pedals. This is of course my experience with using Crank Brothers Pedals. If you ride with a different brand of pedals, you will still need to purchase and install the appropriate cleats separately. Any two-bolt cleat should be an easy swap though.I've worn other similar shoes from other brands and I often found them to still be either too stiff and bulky for extended walking, or too flexible to be useful as a riding shoe. The Mallets seem to have achieved the sweet spot in that regard. Serious racers would most likely prefer a stiffer shoe, but I imagine most riders would find the pedaling efficiency from the Mallets to be adequate for most riding situations. Over longer rides I never felt like the shoes were holding me back. The Mallets feel great to walk in as well. Make no mistake, these are definitely a cycling shoe and one probably wouldn't want to wear them on say, a long hike, but for at the store, work, or other run of the mill activities the shoes feel comfortable and walking feels natural. The cleats have not interfered with walking thus far, though of course that may change as the tread wears down. Time will tell!Overall I'm giving these shoes 4 stars for what they are. They aren't a high-performance racing shoe, nor or they going to replace you favorite tennis shoes, but I've found them to strike just the right balance to make them my new favorite all-around cycling shoe.

First pair of actual MTB shoes I've owned. I've had them for about 9 months now and used them about 2 to 3 times a week. I have a narrow heel and a pretty wide forefoot so it took a little breaking in to get these shoes to feel comfortable. The heels did slip initially when hiking uphill but after a handful of uses, they fit like gloves. The shoe is super durable and sticks to the pedal platform really well. I have tried a few different pedals (Kona Wah Wah composite and alloy and currently using the OneUp composite pedals). I've found the OneUp pedal and this shoe have worked the best together. The Upper is relatively water resistant but won't keep your feet dry from large amounts of water. I'll give this an average rating for now and may update it in the spring when they'll get a real test. They are super cute. I mean, it's a men's shoe but it's cute so ladies buy it. (Guys don't be put off. Only women will see it as cute shoe.) I'm a size 10 women's and got the 8 men's. Fits well. Has this super cool twist to tighten mechanism that is really brilliant. They are replacing my traditional road bike clip shoes that were velcro. This tightening mechanism is way better. Now it came with the wrong clips for me (didn't see an option) so I have to get clips that work on my bike, which I haven't gotten yet. And it's sad because the clips that came with it are really petty too. I got them for a no clip E-bike ride I'm doing next week in Napa! And it's sad because the clips that came with it are really petty too. I got them for a no clip E-bike ride I'm doing next week in Napa! So I pulled the clips and taped the hole and will use as a hard soled bike shoe. It promises to walk well so I took them for a bit of a walk and they seemed pretty good. So hoping perfect for this bike and hike around ride I'm doing. Now, I'm suspecting they're mountain biking clips/shoes but I'm gonna give them a try on my road bike come spring. There's a lot of slide for the clips so I'm betting when I get the right type it'll work fine. I think I might just love them.
I have been very pleased with these shoes. The Velcro and Boa combination provides excellent comfort. I really like the design and look of the shoe. I wear size 8.5 US in running shoes and ordered the same size and they fit perfect. They clean easily and I have Time pedals and cleats and the shoe has performed very well. A typical ride for me is 12 to 20 miles and the shoe has done great. This is my first pair of Crank Bros shoes and would buy again,
Great investment! I wish there was a 4.5 rating. the only reason they aren't a 5 is written futher below. The shoes are true to size (I wear a 7.5 and the 8 is perfect - I do have a wide foot as well), comfortable and easy to get in and out of! That was always the worst part of clipless pedals - GETTING IN AND OUT OF THE SHOES. They look like they are good quality and will last. Speed laces are the ONLY way to go. Just invest in them. You won't regret it.I have purchased the Mallet E pedals to go with the shoe, but have yet to ride with them. The only complaint I have is that I am currently using eggbeaters and if you accidentally get the side of the eggbeater that is a little wider there is some slop in the feel. I still may go with flats depending on the ride, but I've gone full-time (mostly) clipless because of these shoes. I could never get the right foot position and feel with other clipless shoes but the ability to slam the cleats back a little farther on these is all I needed. These put me the most confident descending position, and climbing too.I've paired these with long spindle Mallet-E pedals (with the pins run a little higher than how they ship) and the easy release, 6deg float cleats.I disagree on the size recommendation. I wear 11.5 shoes across the board (vans, nike) and the 11.5 in these is pretty spot on if not a touch on the small side. Not enough to size up.I swapped out the quick lace for traditional laces. I like to keep the forefoot area as loose and roomy as possible and that's harder to dial in with the quicklace or boa system since those are all about even tension/pressure.Flats are for sure more comfortable, but these are a close second when it comes to walking around.
For me when it comes to shoes, I’m pretty particular, my gravel/cross country shoes have to have carbon soles, I tasted the carbon years back and there is no replacement for the platform when comes to straight power transfer. My road shoes I look for the same, but a whole lot lighter for the miles and well grams…ha, might be a bit of weight weenie. When it comes time for new trail shoes, I’m looking for solid, well build cleat shanks having broken a few in the past and decent ankle protection as I ride a little heel in. This time around I was looking for shoes for a whole different purpose, an everyday shoe that could replace my Vans in comfort and offer some bike specific features fore when I’m pedaling around town, the Crank Brothers Stamp fit the bill.First off ... MoreFor me when it comes to shoes, I’m pretty particular, my gravel/cross country shoes have to have carbon soles, I tasted the carbon years back and there is no replacement for the platform when comes to straight power transfer. This time around I was looking for shoes for a whole different purpose, an everyday shoe that could replace my Vans in comfort and offer some bike specific features fore when I’m pedaling around town, the Crank Brothers Stamp fit the bill.First off let’s talk nice features, there is no doubt the Stamps are designed to be a flat pedal trail shoe, Crank Brothers did their homework, and these are chalked full of smart design decisions. The first and most obvious is the shoe upper Material, I don’t know it’s technical fabric name, but having had these shoes out in the rain, they are pretty water resistant in a solid down pour, I do have to say I generally am not a huge fan of the look of technical fabrics, but Crank Brothers kept these looking good, with the skate style vibe I Like. Second feature you’ll notice and one of the main reasons I was look for cycling shoes is the laces. The laces on the Stamps on hidden on the top of the show with loops for lacing vs Eyelets, this all but eliminates hot spots on the top of the foot, Crank brothers didn’t stop there, they included a pocket in the top of the tongue to tuck the lace loops in and away from the cranks, nice! And finally, the Sole, It’s grippy and just the right mix of platform for pedaling to flexible for walking around, which I’ve done quite a bit.Now let’s talk some cons to the Stamps, for me at least so far there has only been one little, ah for lack of better term, grip, it’s the heel cup. The Stamps heel cup is soft, sculpted and padded just as you’d expect from a bike shoe to hold your ankle in, and what at first thought seems like a good feature is small silicon grippers to really lock your ankle in. What I’ve noticed is at first you don’t even notice these grippers, but after walking and pedaling around for more than an hour or two these have started to create a hot spot on my ankle. It could be just my skinny ankles but something to note.Overall, The Stamps, just like all Crank Brother products are well thought out, stylish and high on my list of products I dig. They fit just as I expected, I wear a 10.5 in Vans, Shimano, Ride Concepts, Giro, specialized and now Cranks Brothers. At the end of the day would I buy them again, I would and will probably pick up a pair with cleats when it comes time for new trail shoes.PROSThe Styling, you can wear them every day and not look like a kook. The Laces – Hidden loops and Lace Pocket, Smart DesignTechnical Fabric that doesn’t look too TechyThe Sole – The right amount of flex for everyday use, and enough platform to pedal.CONSThe Heel Gripper – There’s enough padding to not need the silicon extras
I had to return these because they are a poor fit, far too narrow and designed for a flat foot and ankles are very exposed. I assumed from the pictures that these would be very similar in shape to the 510 freeriders but with a cleat, they are a bit different than that and do have the typical bulge under the ball of foot area similar to most other shoes with cleats, meaning they're really not that walkable either. I'd say the footbed is similar to other shoes I've tried, rather flat and not conforming to the shape of my foot. The best shoes with cleats so far have always been from Specialized, my favorite flats are 510 freeriders from a few years ago. I returned these and never tried clipping in with them, just wore them in the house a few times.
Great shoe. Clips in very easily. Secure.I bought them to replace some aging Keen bike shoes that were also good for destination walking. These are better on the bike, a bit less good for the destination. For general cycling and short walking around they've become my go-to shoe (only wish I'd bought a more subtle color; those blue laces really pop!)I have a feeling with some adjustment they'll fit the bill.
