A lot of quality of life improvements have been made. Never got to play this when it first came out on the PSP, but really enjoy it. The one thing that sucks is you can't cancel your attacks; once their inputted you have to follow through. This is the one major difference between this game and the Final Fantasy 7 remake. You have to play a little more strategic. With that being said though, it's not a bad game. Worth picking up if you've never played the original or enjoy the Final Fantasy 7 universe.

What a game. What a game. Originally I played and beat Crisis Core on the psp. Back then I was able to play on my TV via the component cable. Very impressive at the time with graphics and audio. I was blown away that this game ran on a handheld. I loved every single second of the game that I replayed it on Hard. I'm so happy that many years later I can replay this not on the ps4 but a ps5. I'm having fun again playing a game as a game and not as a live service or dlc and micro transactions popping up on the screen. All the enhancements given to the remaster makes this by far the version to play to the point going back almost feels tedious. I really love the summons as well they are so good on Reunion. Performance on Switch is similar to PS4, Xbone albeit with some visual downgrades. However it still looks and runs impressively for the hardware it's on. If you're a FF7 fan I cannot recommend this game enough

If I'm being completely realistic it is not a perfect game.People need to know that before going into this is that this game WAS a PSP game and it really shows in some game animations and mechanics. The only real differences from this game and the original is the graphics, controls, and some new features here and there.Most of the issues in this game come from the fact that it did come from a system that wasn't necessarily powerful. Its very jarring to hear this new voice after hearing the OG Zack voice in the original game who did a splendid job. Also, most of the emotional scenes are just devoid of emotion in this new voice. Absolutely phenomenal remaster, elevating the combat, graphics, models, and music to new levels. Everything is now voice acted. The combat has been revamped and improved in every way.Crisis Core has never looked or sounded better… for the most part. Unfortunately, the new voice acting for protagonist Zack Fair simply does not fit his character. It’s painfully apparent how much Zack’s character is shaped from Rick Gomez’s fantastic portrayal in the original. It’s disappointing, especially with how incredible the Remake cast was. As a massive fan of the original and Zack as a character, the voice acting unfortunately does hamper the enjoyment.

The game looks pretty good and while its not a full remaster or remake like FFVII is, i think they did a great job touching up the game to be closer to today’s standards. One thing i must mention is that the game was surprisingly short. Its my fault for assuming that the game would be longer but, to my surprise, the game only took about 15 hrs to complete the main story. You can definitely get more hours out of the game if you complete all the missions but, i found that doing so would be a bit of a drag as they get a bit repetitive after a while. First and foremost, I have never played the original one on the PSP. So as a big, longtime, and loyal fan of Final Fantasy VII/Remake, I have to say this game has really meet every expectations, so to say that I learn more about Zack Fair the biggest protagonist in the game, fighting monsters, completing missions alongside Angeal and Sephiroth. Yes, Sephiroth, but to really know the story about the whole thing, you'd have to start with Zack Fair. If you're a fan of Final Fantasy game, especially the VII, you'd have to buy and play this. It wouldn't matter what version you get for this game, it'll be all the same. Plus you'll experience the biggest and awesome game there has to offer. So to say, welcome back to Midgar. and say hello to Zack Fair.
