Since getting back into fishing and recently becoming retired, I have started using J Braid on all my reels. It casts great, gives me a total lack of wind knots, and is very easy to work with. This is one of the highest quality braids you can put on your reel, and I've found it to be less abrasive than most others. Spool some up on your next new reel. You won't regret it.

I use this line for deep dropping of of South Florida, sometimes over 1/4 mile down. I use 30LB and 50LB Diawa j braid with 3 to 7 pounds of weight. The Diawa j braid has multiple cariaturistics that are advantageous to this kind of fishing. The 8 stranded construction is both quiet threw the guide's, and in the water as well as round. There are multiple color options for both high, and low visibility line. The low stretch, high sensitivity means the bites can be see, and felt. Many years of experience have led me to choose Diawa j braid x8 for this fishing application.

I didn't have much expectations about this braid as it's rather inexpensive, for everything it claims it to be. But what a pleasant surprise. It is very smooth, strong and casts very good. No memory and isn't stiff. This is the first time I am using this braid and it is already my favorite, after using other brand names for years.I will buy more know with this knowledge. I really love it. I wish I could find at least one thing that I dislike to make this review look "more realistic". But honestly, I have no complaints at all. I highly recommend this line to everyone.

Love this braid. I use it on my spinning reelsin freshwater, and I've never had a problem. Casts great, limp, excellent strength, no snarls. Seems to last forever, and doesn't fade like some other higher priced braids. What more can a guy ask for? Oh, great prices at Discount Tackle!
I’ve fished with 3 different braids in this price category. Sufix, , Power Pro, and J-braid. Power Pro being my top choice by a slight margin. I’ve been using the 8, & 10 pound chartreuse Jbraid. It has excellent line lay on the spool, cast a mile. And has yet to let me down when tying the Alberto knot to my fluorocarbon leader. I’ve noticed a little color fading with age on this color. Still, at this price point. A great value IMO.
I have to say that diawa j braid 8 strand is the softest braid i ever felt before and the smallest diameter I ever seen! If you are trying to save some money and is using Kastking braided line, try using J braid 8 strands, you won't regret it and it is worth the money compare to power pro super slick (More expensive line) One negative about the line is that if you get a bad spool (rarely) sometimes the braid knot strength is weak so be careful. Overall check out this line, you won't look back at the off brand braided lines.
After watching several line tests over the years and using many., many manufactures lines the past 20 years, I've come to a conclusion. There's really not a huge difference. But there are differences. Some have higher breaking strength than others, some last slightly longer, some cast slightly further and some bleed color and others dont. JBraid, Tuff Line and Power Pro are in my opinion the top 3 braided lines for everything from bass to off shore salt water trolling.
This braid is the first braid I've used when lure fishing. Ihave used it once and had no problems. Therefore I have nothing to judge it against. But it seems I have waited too long to try it. From my very limited experience of it, I have no doubt it will greatly improve my lure fishing
After I heard a few guys talking about it, I upgraded my winter steelhead float combo to this Daiwa J-Braid x8 from Berkley Fireline and am very happy with it. There's strength and with the thin diameter, I seem to get a little extra distance on casting. Also, the high visibility line is good for seeing where your line is so you can mend--just make sure you've got a good invisible fluorocarbon leader to your hooks--especially if you're fishing spooky or leader-shy fish--because I imagine the high visibility line is also high visibility to the fish.
this is my second braid i have purchased and i can recommend it to anyone that likes to catch big fish. it will hold up on anything you catch from bigger trout and pike. i got my lures stuck many times on big weeds and i never had them break off on me with even though i had to really work to get it unstuck.
