The game is good in terms of graphics as I'm always loving the new chapters that they create and how much detail there is in the background. Though if you don't have any friends that are playing the game with you, you can forget about trying to do any of the raids or nightfalls. As you need a 3 or 6 person team to complete those activities. As raids can't be one manned, and some nightfalls can be...but...not really. So you will miss out on those activities/achievements. It's a good game, and there always trying to add new content. But it can be expensive if you're paying full price for each new DLC. So I generally wait for a sale, as it always goes on sale. Though it is also now apart of game pass. Litterly the only thing you'll get is the currently free to play content you can download right now ok whatever platform you play on for nothing. I'm appalled they're even selling this still at any price but for $60? This was the base game with no dlc that was outdated 3 months after release in 2017 and was discounted to $20 soon after. Also before the entirety of the content contained on this disk was removed it was sold for $5 for over 2 years and hasn't been full price in over 5 now, then it was offered completely for free for a few months before being removed. A simple Google search will tell you this, same for YouTube. Again if you buy this you will get absolutely nothing that's advertised on the box or the discription here. If you wanna try the game you can go to the Playstation, Xbox or Steam/Epic store on PC and download it for free right now, the same as you would get by purchasing this, and see if you then want to buy the current expansion Witch Queen or pre-order Lightfall seeing as how Witch Queen is nearing the end of it's year life with only 3 months left. This is an online only live service game that is always changing with content being added and removed constantly and this disk is just the launch state of the game that's been gone for over 3 years.

It will not do anything the free version that you get in the Xbox store or PlayStation store doesn’t do. They probably have thousands of this disc. I'm a returning player to the world of Destiny. I really liked the first game, and my view on Destiny 2 will be more of the same - as it feels like a continuation of the first honestly. Destiny 2 feels more like an expansion v1.5 more than it does a complete sequel. Classes and combat seem to behave similarly as to what I'm used to. Destiny 2 seems more vivid, vibrant, and robust in it's visuals/graphics overall. Playing this game on a PlayStation 4 Pro, and a Curved 4K Ultra HDTV is absolutely stunning!Areas & Worlds don't seem as barren as they were in the first game either. The inclusion of a map this time around helps a bunch in finding my way around. Playing this game on a PlayStation 4 Pro, and a Curved 4K Ultra HDTV is absolutely stunning!Areas & Worlds don't seem as barren as they were in the first game either. The inclusion of a map this time around helps a bunch in finding my way around. The map now pinpoints NPC locations, points of interest, and open world events that are currently happening. The open world events are great, as the map gives a timer when they start/end - so you can prepare accordingly. One of the more noticeable improvements to the game are the Engrams. Engrams are now automatically decoded when you pick them up. You no longer need to store them, and go back to the Cryptarch to decode. Furthermore you no longer need to ensure that you're wearing your highest Light Level items (i.e. gear) to decode Engrams, in order to get better gear; The system automatically gives you the best chance of getting the higher Light Level items now (even from items stored in your Inventory). Now for the cons - which are pretty much the microtransactions this time around. I'll name a few here:• Shaders are now one-time use. Although they can drop randomly in the game world, they're a microtransaction purchase from the Eververse vendor now.• Sparrows (aka Speeder Bikes) aren't acquired until level 20. Although the Sparrows can be acquired randomly through playing the game, or through microtransactions from the Eververse vendor. While the Eververse Trading Company vendor still allows the purchase of the in-game currency Silver, you can still purchase Emotes. Emotes were a known a cosmetic item carried over from the first Destiny, so that's not really a surprise. However, the decision to add one-time use shaders is surprising since the system worked well in Destiny... there was no need to change it. This manuever by the publisher is an obvious cash grab to players, regardless to the fact that shaders can drop in the game - that's not the point IMO. If you've played Ovewatch, the purchase of so-called loot boxes will be familiar to you; Bungie is going the same route here, with random emotes, exotic weapon ornaments, shaders, sparrows, etc. dropping from opening these boxes with the purchase of Silver (from real world money).Overall the game feels more polished than the first game, and the exclusion of Grimore Cards was a good move. Game lore can now be learned in-game, without the need to use a website to look up information about what's happening with the story. Voice acting is superb, the music is wonderful & mesmerizing, and the cinematics are great. If you enjoyed Destiny, than you'll enjoy playing Destiny 2. If you're new to the franchise, you can still play Destiny 2 without the need to play the first game. With regards to PvP, there is no longer 6v6 - as it's now 4v4. While this is a point of contention among veterans of the game, it doesn't bother me since I really don't like to PvP. However, with a smaller team, things should feel more balanced (hopefully) - and less overwhelming going against a larger force. I personally like the decision, and this change may make me finally give PvP a try this time around.I give the game 4-stars overall, and I definitely recommend it. Especially if you enjoyed the first game. This is most certainly not a sequel though, but it's more Destiny goodness nonetheless. Two thumbs up!
So, without getting too political, the situation around the publishing of this has gotten a bit rough. The concept of having "lootboxes", or engrams available for extra purchases is definitely a hot topic. For this review, I will note that I am definitely a bit miffed by all of this, but I will not let it sway my view too far.The game itself is beautiful. Whether you play on the base PS4 or XB1, or you have the advanced capability of the PS4 Pro, or XB1X, this really shines. Performance has been pretty stable since day 1, and has only gotten better. The few glitches that I have encountered have not been game-breaking, and actually were just kind of funny. I would love to run this for PC as well, but I haven't gotten around to it, so I won't delve into 60fps ... MoreSo, without getting too political, the situation around the publishing of this has gotten a bit rough. The few glitches that I have encountered have not been game-breaking, and actually were just kind of funny. I would love to run this for PC as well, but I haven't gotten around to it, so I won't delve into 60fps performance, or ding the consoles for not being able to run that way. The point is that while the first Destiny was hampered by having to bridge the old console generation and the new, this gets to take full advantage of the hardware.Storyline and characters are phenomenal, compared to the first offering in the Destiny Universe. By the time Bungie had added The Taken King expansion, they had dug themselves out of the hole, for the most part. But this time around, things were pretty solid from the beginning. Granted, they have tweaked a few things now that the first expansion is out (a separate purchase, FYI), but it mostly works just fine. Characters have been consistent, believable, and enjoyable, especially considering that this is primarily a first-person-shooter. Mechanics have to be solid, and story comes second, but they've stepped up to the plate this time.Packaging is okay. The cover art looked nice, at first, but has become somewhat dull. And since the install will require the same storage as the blu-ray holds anyhow (plus patches), you might be better off with a digital copy, if only to free yourself from having to switch discs. That is up to your preference with discs, having the ability to resell the game, how often you use the disc drive, or play other games/media.Overall, I'm willing to give it 4/5. The mechanics are beautifully handled, the story is great, the graphics look SO much better than Bungie's first Destiny, and the promise is that there is more to come. However, the kickback comes from the shenanigans about certain items being available from purchased engrams, and consumables (like shaders now), being limited, compared to the first game. Between the semi-pay-to-win silliness that Bungie seems to want to continue running, the current attitude toward "lootboxes", and some serious issues that have yet to be completely addressed regarding leveling, item drops, etc., I have to take it down at least one notch. BUT, it's still a great game.
Coming from an average player of the original Destiny, to a seasoned Destiny 2 player - This installment improves on nearly every flaw that 1 had but also creates a few of it's own problems.First off, the game is amazing, extremely fun and addicting that grabs your attention over a longer period than Destiny 1 did. Don't get me started on Legendary - it's a con/ pro, love/hate type thing :)- The lack of exotics and diversity in gear (armor specifically)- Some exotics not "looking exotic"- TOO FEW ARMOR SETS, this is my biggest gripe with the game. Especially with the hunter, THEY RE-SKINNED 3 FULL SETS OF ARMOR which leaves the hunter with barely any sets to work with.- Micro-Transactions, totally optional and I can careless but some people do. These provide you with emotes, shaders and other gear at RANDOM. You get one of these packs every time you level up so it's really unnecessary.- Same user Interface/map interface than the original Destiny, which is unfortunate honestly.- Servers go down for a very short time for the reset every Tuesday, again I don't care but some people do.Some tips to better enjoy your Destiny experience, JOIN A CLAN! A Clan for end game content is essential, not only do you earn "Clan Engrams" each week that give you POWERFUL gear to help level you up tremendously, if you find a good clan you will always have people to help you out with whatever you need. Pair this with the Destiny companion app (essential for finding fireteams to join and to talk to your clan via chat) and you will infinitely increase your enjoyment! Thanks for reading!
I would highly recommend Destiny 2 to any gamer because it has a magnificent storyline that allows you to delve deep into the characters and conflict, and also provides great graphics. Although the enemy races have not changed, the enemies that you come into contact with have a back-story, and are very fun to go against. The story starts off with allowing you to know the feel of the game, and choose your character and what you want to represent. As the game progresses, the enemies get harder, and loot is easier to access. The storyline has a main line, and then you have the side quests and patrol missions, which help you get certain loot. Take for example the Rat King pistol that you have to receive by doing quests. In order to get the Rat King, you have to do strikes, which take quite a bit of time to do and complete. Once done, you have an exotic weapon that affects the damage you do to enemies. In my opinion I love going to different planets and moons in Destiny 2, and seeing how they depict how each planet and moon looks. Another very interesting thing about Destiny 2 is that they come up with storylines all the time, and make them as Downloadable Contents (DLC) for people to play with. DLC’s come out very often, and are jam packed with a bunch of amazing guns, planets, and outfits. One thing that I am concerned about, however, is the way the exotic quests, and quest in general come about. I applaud Destiny 2 for trying to make the game as diverse as possible by giving different people different quests, but it is hard to acquire a quest that you would like. I also feel that when you acquire a quest, it is difficult to find people to do it with. Take again, for example, the Rat King. You have to complete the Nightfall Strike in under I believe 6 minutes. The thing is, however, you have to have other people with the same Rat King quest. If you are a solo gamer and have no intentions to play with others, it will be quite hard for you to do certain quest and also get certain loot. Raids require at most 6 people, and are quite tough if you have anything under 5 people. The catch is, raids give you extraordinary gear and loot. So, if you end up not being able to do Raids or Strikes, you fall back on powerful gear and loot. Overall, the storyline and everything associated with it is exceptionally well for a good price. The graphics of Destiny 2 are amazing. Compared to the first Destiny, Destiny 2 has amazing graphics. When on PC, you can also change the graphics from low to ultra, and depending on your computer, there are more options for that. I feel the best graphics is either on the PC or PS4. The PS4 has amazing graphics for Destiny 2, it is very clear and you can change the options, as well. The price of Destiny 2 does not end at $60, however. You have in-game micro transactions like DLCs and buying a currency called Silver. Some people argue that DLCs and buying Silver are a waste of time, but Destiny 2 does not force you to buy those things. The DLCs are if you would like to continue with the story, or a completely different story from the original story. If you would not like to purchase the DLCs, you can still do Raids, Strikes, and multiplayer. The micro transaction, Silver, is also very much not needed. If you want a cool looking ship, new dances, shaders, guns, or armor, then you can go to get Silver to get that stuff. They do not force you to buy anything else, so I personally think Destiny 2 is perfect for the price they have presented.Destiny 2 is definitely a game to get if you want to play with your friends or even random people! I recommend getting the DLCs associated with Destiny 2 as well to make it an even better experience.
I'm going to assume that readers of this review have read other reviews that explain the objectives and mechanics of this game in greater detail, and stick just making comparisons to the original Destiny game.In a nutshell:The gameplay feels identical with regard to control response, button layout, etc.The storyline of the game is much easier to understand and follow in D2 than in D1.The visuals in D2 are even richer and more varied than in D1, which IMO had great visuals to begin with.A lot of the Player vs Enemy combat sequences seem to have more enemies attacking at any given time, with more waves of enemies to fight, resulting in much longer battles and more player "deaths". Not better or worse than D1, just different.Without giving away any spoiler ... MoreI'm going to assume that readers of this review have read other reviews that explain the objectives and mechanics of this game in greater detail, and stick just making comparisons to the original Destiny game.In a nutshell:The gameplay feels identical with regard to control response, button layout, etc.The storyline of the game is much easier to understand and follow in D2 than in D1.The visuals in D2 are even richer and more varied than in D1, which IMO had great visuals to begin with.A lot of the Player vs Enemy combat sequences seem to have more enemies attacking at any given time, with more waves of enemies to fight, resulting in much longer battles and more player "deaths". Not better or worse than D1, just different.Without giving away any spoiler details, I'll just say that the one Raid currently available is more similar in length and complexity to Crota's End (meaning: shorter and less complex) than to the other three raids in D1. Up to you whether you think that's good or bad, or irrelevant. The Raid has a lot of fun parts that require a lot of interaction within the team, overall I give it a thumbs-up.The one area of the game I am not thrilled with at this point is the "loot system". This is actually two separate issues:1) As anyone familiar with the game knows, playing the game rewards you with "loot": gear that increases your Light level, which increases your character's ability to inflict and withstand damage. The problem is, in D2, once you get to about 270 light (out of a possible 350), most of the loot you receive gives you gear that is BELOW the Light level you are already at. To be fair, I haven't done a lot of research on YouTube, Reddit or elsewhere yet to see if there are more effective ways to level up. But as of now, it seems like grinding hours of Strikes and Crucible in D2 will not raise my light significantly.2) the Loot System has gotten more complicated. In addition to weapons, armor, ships, sparrows, emblems and shaders, loot now includes weapon and armor mods, each of which can be applied to a single piece of gear a single time. Shaders can now be applied to weapons and ships, in addition to armor, but each shader is a single-use item, and can only be applied to a single piece of gear. After hours of grinding, you end up with a much larger and more complex inventory of items to sort through. OK if you're a dedicated gamer, Not so appealing to the casual gamer. On the overall i really enjoy this game, but unless i find ways of raising my light level more efficiently so that I have a hope of remaining competitive in events where light level is a major factor, this game might not hold my interest for three years like D1 did.
Destiny 2 is the sequel to the popular online shooter Destiny, developed by Bungie and published by Activision. I tried this game out because they're basically handing it out for free to anyone who will take one. (PS Plus included it as a 'free' game recently, and I got three free copies from Best Buy with the purchase of other games.) It is a very pretty game, but after playing for a couple/few hours, I realized there just wasn't anything I liked about it, so I quit. The game lets you create a custom character, but then it forces you to play in first person, so you rarely even see your character. I don't like playing in first person that much anyway, but when so much of the "rewards" aspect of the game goes to customizing your character, why would they make it so you don't even see your character during most of the gameplay? This is a perplexing choice to me. If I could have chosen to play in third person, I might have liked it more.Even if all you're interested in is single-player content (like me), the game requires a connection to the server, which means that you have to have good, reliable internet, and it means that whenever the Destiny servers eventually get shut off, the game will become 100% unplayable.Probably because this game is focused on multiplayer, you're not able to customize the difficulty. I reached a point where I couldn't get past a certain enemy, and that's where I stopped to realize that I wasn't enjoying the game at all and quit. If I'd been able to set it to an easier difficulty setting, maybe I'd have pressed on farther. My brother loves Destiny, so it obviously works for some people, but it didn't work for me. The fact that they're giving the game away like Halloween candy to try to convince people to buy the expansions tells me I'm not the only one who feels this way about it. If you're not super-duper into FPS wild blasty games (methodical sniping was not an option at all for any of the content that I got through), think hard about paying any money for this game.
